Two years ago this time I didn't even know what a weblog(Blog) was. This blog started in may of 2005 as a suggestion from a friend. I never thought that I would end up being so obsessed with what I do here on this site.

This site has become as controversial as my radio and TV shows,and thousands hit on to this site every month. Blogging has become the "New Media" And this site has become the premier political blog site in the region.

Thanks to Jackson Baker of The Memphis Flyer,This site was mentioned in The New-York Times. I also did a national Pod broadcast this summer in reference to the Ford-Corker campaign. And when you Google my name you find the many references to this site. I have received hundreds of e-mails from people across this country and overseas concerning this site. And to my friends and foes I thank you for making this site the greatest in Memphis.

I'm up late most nights making sure that there is something fresh here daily, Being in the repo business I miss a lot of sleep staying up late to produce this site and then getting up early to produce a living. Its my plan to improve the site in 2007,and to keep digging for the information that needs to be provided.

This year has brought disappointment for many in their lives, But the joy of waking up each day far supersedes the trials and pains of life. With most of us no matter what our difference we all want the same things. That's to be able to work in our chosen fields,make a comfortable living and provide for our family. And when we take the politics out we all are just people just trying to make it.

Know The Truth And It'll Make You Free,Or Maybe It'll Lock You Up

Randall Catron Executive Director of The Beale Street Development Corporation, seen in the middle arm in arm with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, in !968 in the above photo,has taken on a new struggle, And that is to preserve the most successful black business venture in the history of this city, The revitalization of Historic Beale Street.

It was the tireless efforts of Catron and other members of BSDC that makes Downtown Memphis the place it is today. Some have tried to give the credit to John Elkington and "Performa" as being the backbone of the street,But this is totally untrue. When this project started Elkington was just a law clerk for former Memphis mayor Wyeth Chandler.

BSDC which was chartered as a non-profit corporation in 1973,traveled numerous times to Washington D.C. to ascertain funding for Beale. In fact if the truth is to be told BSDC was the first group to build anything downtown after it became a wasteland. In 1973 BSDC secured funding ($240,000.00) and built the first new structure downtown. That structure is 380 Beale or better known as the "Plush Club".

Those you have given the credit to Elkington for the development of Beale Street, have fallen prey to his not telling the truth and wanting it to be known that he works for a black Corporation Elkington has a contract with BSDC, not the City of Memphis to manage the street, That's his only function. So as he strolls down the street like a peacock,he walks in the shadow of his own lies.

The City of Memphis had tried to secure funding for Beale Street but was unable to,But after Chandler saw what BSDC was able to do as far as securing a SBA loan to build 380 Beale,which was the first huge development in the downtown area in decades, He took them up on their offer to take responsibility for restoring The Beale Street Historic district. The city agreed only if BSDC could secure funding for such a mountainous project. The city also agreed that they would match all funding BSDC received.

BSDC being a non-profit 501-C3 secured the very first $1,870,000.00 for the development,revitalization of Beale Street. The City of Memphis had no funds available as they had initially agreed upon. I think that the city never thought that this group of blacks could ever acquire funding. But Chandler staying true to his word in 1977 pledge land. The land value was $714,000.00. The City of Memphis and BSDC became co-grantees with the acceptance of said funds and pledge of land.

BSDC was instrumental in securing a TOTAL SUM OF 25.3 MILLION DOLLARS for the development and revitalization of the Beale Street Historic District. Securing funds from Federal,State and local agencies. The Economic Development administration offered the use of additional funds to BSDC and the City of Memphis under certain conditions. The city had no funds,therefore they were to sell the land to BSDC, A letter from the EDA dated August 22,1980 states "The entire blocks between Second and Third Streets from Mccall to Lt.Lee Avenues would be contributed as in-kind match for this project. The lease agreement between the co-grantees should be amended to GIVE IMMEDIATE CONTROL OF ANY PROPERTY CONTRIBUTED AS IN-KIND.

Those same documents from the EDA stated that the City of Memphis should provide funds for the operation of BSDC,which has never happened to this day. The mayor is to approve the budget which has not happened. The lease agreement and the memorandum of understanding clearly outlined the financial/monetary responsibilities, and functionary duties of both parties.

So just how did John Elkington get involved and whats really his function? I'm glad you asked. Performa Entertainment Real Estate, Formerly known as E & K and Beale Street Management was hired in 1982 by the BSDC to manage the Historic District. The terms of the contract outlined whereas the management company was to have the responsibility for the commercial aspects of the project,including management and leasing of the premises. The City of Memphis shifted its obligatory duties per lease agreement memorandum of understanding to Performa.

Performa alleged a debt of 1.7 million dollars without any supporting documents. Numerous letters were written by BSDC questioning the alleged debt. The City of memphis nor Performa has ever provided any documents of proof for the alleged debts that Elkington states that he acquired. BSDC asked for an audit of the books of Performa in 1989, The city conducted an audit but refused to give BSDC the findings of that audit. In fact I have before me a letter from the city dated April 12, 1989 from the city and signed by Roland McElrath that says " We are aware of Beale Street Development Corporation's responsibilities for bring about the redevelopment of the Beale Street Historical District. We further understand your concern and interest in the results of our examination of Beale Street District's operations. However, we will not be able to provide you with our audit findings prior to issuing the preliminary draft report. This would be a violation of our departments policy regarding administration of the audit engagement."

Why would the city refuse to release the findings of the audit? what is there to hide? Elkington alleges 1.7 million in debt and the city does not seek documentation? But here's the kicker, the lease that Elkington has with BSDC clearly states that any monies expended over $100,000 must be approved by BSDC. What was Elkington's reply to BSDC about the alleged 1.7 million. "No one is going to get paid until performa recoups all it's money".

BSDC has never received any monies from Performa or the City of Memphis as outlined in the signed lease agreements. This is where the FBI should get involved Federal funds were used to re build Beale Street. There is a contract between the Federal Government and the City of Memphis in regards to BSDC that has been violated.

The City of Memphis has received over $43 million dollars in tax revenues,while John Elkington has received millions in revenue from the operation of Beale Street. But how did he come by those millions? And why won't the City give the results of the finances of Beale Street? Is there corruption on the street? Has the many sponsors of events on the street given kickbacks to Elkington? Why did the City of Memphis give Elkington total control of Handy Park for just One dollar per year? This has to come with the mayor's approval,seeing that he and he alone has sole contract signing power.

Since Elkington wants to sell everything on Beale Street except the Park, knowing that he has no control over Beale Street, knowing that BCDC has control of the leases for 52 years, Is there a plan for Herenton and Elkington to cut a side deal? Is this the reason that the city Of Memphis is trying to force the dissolution of BSDC?

The City has told BSDC for years that " No monies are available for you" But yet yearly gave the Beale street Merchants Association $50 -$100,000.00 in grants. This for profit organization headed by indicted city council member Rickey Peete has been able to acquire funds from the city but not BSDC. Could it be because in reading the campaign disclosures of council members the Merchants Association gave $500.00 to most of them.

Which brings me to another interesting point, looking at the campaign disclosure of Peete I noticed where John Elkington gave Peete $3,000 for a contribution. Now why would Elkington do that,was this a way of buying Peet's influence? Did he use Peete to bring pressure from the city on BSDC?

BSDC has had to file legal action against the Merchant association to even be able to sell food on Beale street to generate its only means of funding the corporation. The Merchant Association used legal arms of the City,Code Enforcement, Health department, and others to try an shut down the operation of BSDC. In fact all these city agencies hit BSDC in one day, So again I ask is the $3,000.00 a bribe?

While Elkington has only been to the office of BSDC once, He has often been seen coming out of the office of Rickey Peete. Has Elkington played a role in Peete's political corruption? Is there any data on Peete's computer that will tie Elkington to his misdeeds?

Now you know the facts that backed by documentation, not rhetoric. I am spending a lot of time reading the numerous documents that I have in my possession on this matter. John Elkington has been telling a " Bald face lie" to this community for years. He did not develop the Street,has no control over the leases, That's the reason Randall Catron had to sign for the property on Beale Street to be used for the FedEx Forum and garage. That's the reason that he had to sign so that the new Westin Hotel could be built.

If it had not been for Randell Catron the Forum would not be in place, yes the city could have tried to use a eminent domain statue, But it would have had to go to court and the building would have been delayed. So the greatest downtown developer is not Henry Turley or Jack Belz It's Randall Catron and BCDC. I know that this fact will bother many but the truth is what it is.

Dear Friends:

Frustration and Hope. Those two words come to mind as I reflect on the disappointments and the accomplishments in our city in 2006. After starting the year with a budget shortfall we were unable to give salary increases to City employees. Our city has also faced a tremendous increase in crime, with murders almost reaching an all-time high. We ended the year with a scandal in which two of our members were indicted on charges of public corruption and bribery.

As always, I have hope for the future. After considerable belt tightening and budget cutting, our finances are in the black and two bond-rating agencies have recently upgraded their outlook on the city. I am confident our fiscal condition will continue to improve as we work to curb expenditures and place money in our reserve fund, which now stands at $28 million.

Additionally, the Memphis economy has seen tremendous growth and good news. Service Master has announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to Memphis. This is the second Fortune 500 company to move to Memphis within the past eighteen months. In 2006, over $1 billion has been invested in our local economy by 20 companies, creating over 2000 new jobs. The Council also adopted amendments to the current incentive program for businesses relocating to Memphis, enacted stronger guidelines and rules to mandate medical benefits for all employees and focused on inner city development and minority businesses. In addition, we have enacted a living wage requirement for all City of Memphis employees, both permanent and part-time, and for all contractors doing business with the City. We have made some hard decisions which will not only enhance our City’s economic growth, but will also ensure companies in our city pay their employees fair wages.

Together we continue to tackle the problems our city faces. Just last month members of the Council, both Mayors, prosecutors, local law enforcement and community leaders held an all day symposium to discuss the drastic increase in crimes and how together we can curb this upward trend and ensure the safety of all our citizens. And last summer the voters approved the formation of a charter commission, which is methodically examining our City’s charter and preparing recommendations that if adopted will improve our government and how it functions. Thank you for electing me as a member of the Memphis Charter Commission and please keep me informed on the changes you would like to see enacted.

Yes, we have many challenges ahead of us, but I continue to be hopeful that together we will succeed. We have a wonderfully beautiful city with a bright future. We must continue to be one of the top places to live, work and play in the United States.

Myron I hope you have been reading what's going on with the Beale Street Development Association. This group was able when the City of Memphis couldn't, to get the federal government to grant this city millions of dollars to give new birth to Beale Street.

John Elkington and Performa was given a management contract by BSDC,not the City of Memphis. Neither Elkington or the city has paid BSDC one dime in 25 years. The city has spent $4 million trying to take the leases away from this group. BSDC not Elkington has control of the leases for 52 years.

John Elkington has a office on Beale Street that he pays one dollar a year for,But uses this office to make millions across the country. On his "Performa" material that he sends across the country he states that he developed the street,Which is a lie. BSDC made numerous trips to Washington to aquire the funding to revitalize Beale Street.

When the city and BSDC who are co-grantees of all funds received the federal dollars the Economic Development Administration mandated BSDC to promote black enterprise and maintain the black community's cultural significance on Beale Street. The mandate went on to say that BSDC was to develop a public Interpretive Center to depict Black history in the Beale Street Historic District.

Willie Herenton according to the contract that he inherited as mayor was to approve the budget of BSDC until the street started to make money. But Herenton has never approved the budget or met with BSDC. The city along with Elkington has tried to dissolve BSDC stating that they serve no present use. Elkington has even stated that he wants to sell Beale Street,But he does not have that power he does not control the leases, Plus the Federal government would have to be repaid.

I am sadden that the Black mayor and the Black members of the council have forgotten how they arrived. The mayor and the council has worked with every white developer in Memphis to develop Downtown.But yet refuse to assist BSDC. This group of blacks put together an organization that gave downtown new life,And downtown would not be the financial mecca that it is today with BSDC.

You and your fellow black council members,along with Willie Herenton have done the black community a disservice by allowing John Elkington to take credit for what a black organization did on there own. You do a farther disservice by not making sure that the city and Elkington stick to the terms of their agreement.

It is my belief that there is a plot to dissolve BSDC by Elkington and the mayor,Which is the only way that Beale Street can be sold. The city has offered BSDC $!75,000.00 for the leases. Why would this group give up leases that's worth millions and millions for pennies on the dollar.

I am hoping that you are in tuned to do the right thing and not the politically correct thing. I know that there will be pressure from City Hall and John Elkington to leave this matter along,But I'm hoping that you understand that BSDC has been the most successful financial project started by blacks in the history of this city. And as a black council member this group and the black community need your help.

I know that next year is election year and that this issue will not be popular with some whites downtown, But I hope that you're still black enough to stand up for those who brought you to the dance.

The Way To Deal With Corrupt Poli-Trick-Ans

George Bush finally got his wish with the death of Saddam. But what will now be his excuse for keeping our troops in Iraq? Was what was going in in another country really the business of this country?

Is John Elkington A Bigot?

Some would ask , Would John Elkington try to oust a black corporation,from Beale Street for his own selfish greed. Then others might ask is the reason that Elkington is trying to force Beale Street Development out the street because he may have some racism in his heart. I don't know but here's what the City of Cincinnati found out about him:

Outrage at comments by developer John Elkington has stalled -- and might prevent -- his hire as a consultant to the city of Cincinnati.
At issue are Elkington's statements about Chinese restaurants and business owners. At an Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce luncheon, he said the second of two things he's learned in years of commercial development is, "Never rent to a Chinese restaurant."
So far Mayor Charlie Luken and city council members are riding out the rising tide of response by the local Chinese-American community. (For an update on this situation, see Council Hears from Crowd.)
"I don't have any intention about moving on his hiring until this situation is resolved," Luken says.
Luken says he told Elkington he must return to Cincinnati and meet with the offended parties.
"He has an issue that he is going to have to take affirmative steps to resolve, and I'm not sure that he can," Luken says.
'He's disqualified' When asked about his luncheon remarks, Elkington told a CityBeat reporter that he was being "facetious" at the event but it's his "philosophy" not to rent to Chinese restaurants. The policy has an exception.
"If I got P.F. Chang's, I would certainly rent to them," Elkington said.
P.F. Chang's Chinese Bistro is a chain with headquarters in Arizona. None of its officers is Chinese, according to a company representative.
Working with Chinese businessmen is "very, very difficult" because "they use different math," Elkington said.
"I just made that a policy," he said. "Chinese businessmen are hagglers."
After the remarks were reported (see No Chinese Allowed, issue of Oct. 1-7), Elkington denied making them. He wrote Luken on Oct. 6.
"First, let me assure you that I never made any such comments to CityBeat," he wrote. "The only comment I made about Chinese restaurants was made at the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce meeting."
Elkington's statements to CityBeat would bar him from further consideration, according to Luken.
"If he said this, he's disqualified from being hired by the city," Luken says.
But Elkington's so-called joke, by itself, should be enough to disqualify him, says Ming Li, one of 16 leaders of the local Chinese-American community who gathered Oct. 10 to coordinate a response.
Even Councilman John Cranley, who introduced Elkington to Cincinnati and has been his most vocal proponent, criticized his luncheon remarks.
"I thought that his joke was inappropriate and I have told him the same," Cranley says.
In his letter to Luken, Elkington urges speeding the hiring process.
"I believe I have been left hanging out and subjected to stupid articles such as CityBeat," the letter says. "I would like to bring that proposal to a conclusion so that we can move on."
Elkington has been working with S.B. Woo, president of the 80-20 Initiative -- a national political action committee advocating equality and justice for Asian Americans -- to draft an apology.
Once Woo approved the letter, he planned to send it to members of the local Chinese-American community for approval and then release it to Cincinnati media. Woo says he stipulated that Elkington must also copy all the employees of his development company.
Woo rejected Elkington's first two drafts because they did more blaming than apologizing, according to Cincinnati business owner Elizabeth Tu. Woo suggested a third draft. The local community hasn't yet approved the apology.
But Elkington went ahead and circulated the two drafts at City Hall. That's unacceptable, according to attorney Charleston Wang, host of Asian American Hour on WAIF (88.3 FM).
"Mr. Elkington, by sending his Oct. 9 letter to City Hall without (Woo's) or anyone's acceptance and his fans then circulating it, made it look like it was a fait accompli," Wang says. "The letter casts his racism as a minor faux pas and the fault was CityBeat's and that all is now fine and it is full steam ahead. Mr. Elkington is a clever operator, and a round goes to him."
Some of Elkington's reactions to the uproar raise new questions -- not about his ethnic sensitivity, but his truthfulness. He told a reporter for The Cincinnati Enquirer that he spoke with CityBeat for barely a minute. But Cincinnati Bell phone records show that a Sept. 25 call from CityBeat to Elkington's cell phone lasted eight minutes and 50 seconds. A second call Sept. 26 to his office lasted one minute and 30 seconds.
His memory for time works both ways. Elkington told Cranley he had spoken to Woo for an hour. Woo confirms the call but says, "I didn't talk to him for an hour."
Woo, the former lieutenant governor of Delaware, also says Elkington claimed to have a tape recording of the interviews he gave CityBeat, an allegation that hasn't aired locally. Nor has the tape.
Elkington hasn't returned CityBeat's call to comment for this story.
'Break the silence' The flap doesn't reflect on the city, Luken says.
"I think the city has acted appropriately at all times and continues to do so," he says.
Yet City Hall's mild response has upset Cincinnati's Chinese-American community. City leaders put them on the defensive by asking for proof.
"They should be standing up for us," Tu says.
"Mr. Elkington's remark offended us, but the city's leaders -- Luken and Cranley -- they give us the impression they are just shuffling us away," says Elizabeth Na, president of the Chinese American Business Association.
The sting of Elkington's remarks rises from a long history of exclusion, oppression and dismissal of the Chinese that hasn't stopped since they immigrated to America, according to Northern Kentucky University professor Chenliang Sheng.
It was only during World War II, when two-thirds of able-bodied Chinese-American men served in the armed forces or merchant marine, that the United States finally repealed the law denying Chinese residents citizenship, he says.
"This incident is not an accident, it's a reflection," Sheng says. "It's not a joke. It's a joke to someone, but it's appallingly offensive to the Chinese community."
More than 5,000 Chinese and Chinese Americans live and work in Cincinnati, activists say. At least 500 more attend the University of Cincinnati.
The smallest Chinese immigrants are the young girls adopted locally.
"It's on their behalf that we speak, too, about racism, because they'll have to face it in their time," Tu says.
Tu ticks off the Chinese contribution to Cincinnati: cultural and language education, tai chi and kung fu schools, a Chinese music society, business association and schools. Many Chinese come to Cincinnati to attend university or work for P&G, GE or the UC Medical School.
On Oct. 10 the community celebrated "Double 10th," commemorating the end of imperial rule in 1911. A celebration of the Chinese New Year has grown so popular that it moved to larger facilities. The Cincinnati Chinese Church holds services in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
"We're a vivacious community, but we're quiet," Tu says. "We don't brag about it."
Common stereotypical images of the Chinese show scholars who educate their children well, hold high family values and, ironically, use good math -- not "different math," as Elkington put it. They are sometimes called "the model minority," Tu says.
"I don't think they're hagglers, but they're very careful with their money because they're from a developing country," says Tom King of the Cincinnati Chinese Community Learning Association.
They speak up also for the less fortunate.
John Elkington's Main Street role is in jeopardy.
"There are people working 12 hours a day in Chinese restaurants who cannot speak a word of English, and we resent when Mr. Elkington beats on these poor people in the restaurant because he can get away with it," Wang says.
Chinese Americans will not let Elkington's remarks go unchallenged, according to Richard Wang, president of the Chinese American Association of Cincinnati.
"We will go against anybody with those kind of racist remarks," he says.
Sources confirm there aren't any Chinese restaurants on Beale Street in Memphis -- the development project for which Elkington is best known -- or in Shreveport, La.'s Red River District, another of his projects. Nor, however, are there other ethnic restaurants on Beale Street, says John Branston of The Memphis Flyer, that city's alternative weekly.
"It's not that kind of theme," he says.
Should Main Street be such a themed district, lacking Chinese restaurants?
"Despite what John said, we want a Chinese restaurant," says Jim Moll, who leases Over-the-Rhine properties. "We've been waiting for one."
In fact, the Over-the-Rhine Economic Council has compiled a list of businesses to recruit, and an Asian restaurant is at the top of the list, says architect and urban planner Mike Uhlenhake.
Seven of the organizations represented at the Oct. 10 meeting formed an ad hoc committee, the Chinese American Council. The council urges the city to proclaim a "Chinese Culture Week."
The council started its campaign by passing out a statement at a musical revue at Northern Kentucky University by 14 performers from Taiwan.
"We ask all concerned citizens of Greater Cincinnati to help us break the silence from city officials, to publicly denounce Elkington and to protest the hiring of him," the flier says.
The local chapter of the National Conference for Community and Justice and the American Jewish Federation have offered support.
The flier also calls on Chinese Americans in Cincinnati to pack City Hall during an upcoming council meeting.
"Let us help Cincinnati become a culturally diversified city," it says. ©

Here's more information from an attached article to this story, where he lies and states that Blacks have 35% ownership on Beale Street. There are only 2 black business owners with leased space on the street. This shows that Elkington will lie to promote his agenda of greed across the country:

Elkington and his boosters make much of his commitment to diversity -- African Americans own 35 percent of Beale Street businesses, according to Cranley. But at a recent Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Elkington told the crowd that years in development have taught him to never rent to a Chinese restaurant.

I wonder if that's what happen to the only Chinese restaurant that has ever been on Beale Street,That was owned by Bernard Chang and was in the building that presently is occupied by Alfred's ?

Is John Elkington And Willie Herenton Conspiring To Take Over Beale Street For There Own Financial Gain?

In a letter sent to mayor Willie Herenton,John Elkington proved that he is both a backstabber and a liar. In this letter he tells the mayor that what is best for the historic street is to sell it. He also in this letter that is dated October 4,2005 tells the mayor that the Beale street Development Corporation which controls the leases on the buildings and property on Beale no longer serves a purpose.

He goes on to state how this sale could and should take place,And closes his letter by telling Herenton that he hopes to sit down with him and discuss the next steps to move forward on his plan. So you ask whats wrong with Elkington writing Herenton and telling him his plans for Beale Street. It's wrong because Elkington has no control of Beale Street or it's properties.

Elkington and his company Performa Entertainment Real estate,Inc has a contract with BSDC to manage the street that the black formed corporation was given control of for 52 years. That's right Elkington works for a black corporation and is not the big man that he wants the community to think that he is.

Let me give you a little history,And I might ad that as I write this article I have all the required documents on this matter here at my desk. In the 70's Beale Street was no longer the mecca of the blues and entertainment, But a desolate,lonely street where the ghost of the blues lived. Wyeth Chandler was mayor and had tried several times to get funds from the Federal Government to revitalize the street,But had failed.

In 1973 BSDC was formed with the sole intent of finding funds to make Beale Street alive again. Chandler did not think that the group of blacks could find the funding,But agreed that if they could the city would give matching funds. the group went to Washington with a proposal and did in fact receive funding.

In August of 1980 the Economic Development Administration awarded $2,00,,000.00. in the first paragraph of that grant it states "the primary attraction of the Beale Street revitalization project, As a EDA project was the possibility for a local place organization to further develop and carry out plans initiated in 1973. The grant was amended and the EDA gave an additional $1,870,000. The County gave $600,000 And the city gave $714,000 as in-kind land contributions. But all funding was due to the work of BSDC,And the city entered into an agreement with them giving them management of the street and control of the leases and property for 52 years.

So as you can see John Elkington had nothing to do with the revitalization of Historic Beale Street, But was hired by them to manage the street. Elkington has no contract with the city concerning the street so his letter to Herenton was out of place. There is nothing that Elkington can do concerning Beale Street without the okay of BSDC.

For example when the Fed-Ex Forum was set to be built,Randle Catron Executive Director of BSDC had to sign off on the land so that the forum could be built. Likewise with the Fed-Ex parking garage. In other words nothing can happen as far as building is concerned except it goes through BCDC.

Looking at the letter he states that he has put in 3.9 million dollars into the street,But has never presented the proof of that figure. he also states that the tenants have put 10.1 million into the street. But what has that got to do with the leases and who controls them. Elkington knows the value of the street and wants total control without having to go through a black man. Plus if it was to be sold I'm sure he would want his real estate company to handle the sale. But his plan is mute as long as BSDC has control of the leases.

Not only is the fact that he controls Beale Street a lie, But in the 4th paragraph of his letter.he states "'During the last 22 years the City of Memphis has not put one dollar into marketing or improvements in the Beale Street Historic District,with the exception of road and sidewalk improvements to improve the area around the Fedex Forum and Beale Street". That's a lie, According to paper work in front of me in 2002 the city of Memphis Division of Housing and Community Development gave The Beale Street Merchants Association,$100,000.00. which was approved by the City Council.

The Beale Street Merchant's association is ran by Rickey Re-Peete,And according to information that he submitted for the $100,000.00.The money was to be used for Festival Marketing,Print marketing,Outdoor marketing,And Regional marketing. But if as Elkington's letter states that the tenants had invested 10.1 million into the street where they make their money,why did the merchant assoc need $100,000.00 of taxpayers money.

The mayor in violation of the contract between BSDC and the city. BSDC has not had their budget approved in 25 years. According to the contract the mayor who has sole contract signing power has failed as the black mayor to support a black corporation that gave birth to a dying street that the city its self could not get funding for.

The city has tried because other powers that be want control of Beale Street to dissolve BSDC. They have tried to attempt to threaten the organization with eviction from its Beale street office. Do to unpaid rent, But i guess somebody in city hall realized that the reason they're behind is because the city has violated its agreement by not approving their budget.

Elkington by contract is to pay BSDC $15,000.00 per month,which has not been paid also in 25 years. It appears that Elkington and the city are co-conspirators in the plan to take over Beale street and cut out the middle man. The City on October 26,2004 in a letter to John Elkington from the city it states that " As we discussed. pending resolution of the BSDC issues I am requesting that all net revenues generated from Beale Street operations be transferred to the escrow account established by the city of Memphis". This money is sent out of state to Chase Manhattan Bank, using banking account number 021000021.

In Elkington's letter to Willie Herenton he wants to sell everything on Beale Street except Handy Park. I wonder why? Could it be that the city gave him the lease to the park for $1.00 per year? that's right Elkington has total control of the park,And he's making thousands out of it. thats his reason for not wanting to sell it. He personally makes money off any vendor or event held in the park. Plus I wonder how much PEPSI, paid him to place their name on the pavilion?

There is a plan to take over the street but Catron and BSDC stands in the way. Elkington and the city owe BSDC in the neighborhood of $4 .2 million but wants the organization to give up the leases for $200,000.00. They have tried to starve BSDC out. Every time BSDC has sued the city the group has been stone walled.

Elkington who pays also just $1.00 for his 3,000 feet of office space on Beale Street, has a yearly budget of over $300,000 and uses this office space to handle projects around the country. In fact the citizens of this County for for his help in other states. In his project in Jackson Mississippi called "Farish Street" he names the personnel that will be working on that project which happen to all work here in Memphis, Al James, Toni Holman-Turner,Cato Walker,Hal Downing, and Jennifer Calhoun. He's also working on a project in Trenton New Jersey called "transit Village".

So it seems that Elkington uses his $1.00 per year office here in Memphis to make his millions. And that he has plans to sell Beale Street,use his real estate company and make millions in commission and brokering fees, and hold on to his $1.00 per year lease of Handy Park and make more millions.

I have copys of all the letters that have been sent by BSCD to all party's involed,plus all the letters that the city has sent to BSCD. I also have a copy of the agreement with the city that was made under the administration of Wyeth Chandler with BSCD. I am in the process also of reading the complete lease that BSDC has with Elkington and you can be assured that there is more to come.

Why won't the mayor pay BSDC? Is Herenton and Elkington willfully violating their contracts to dissolve BSCD so that Elkington can take over the street, And if so what has Herenton been promised? And Where does Rickey Peete fit in? And why would the black mayor seek to destroy a black corporation?

Shady Dealings Going On Beale Street

Word on Beale Street that the new garage next to the soon to open Westin Hotel is partly owned by John Elkington. But the company that holds the leases on all the property on Beale Street,Beale Street Development Corporation,wonders how it was built. BSDC has to sign off on any use of Beale street property.

What is clearly not understood is the fact that John Elkington does not control Beale Street, His company "Performa" has a contract with BSDC to manage the street. BSDC is a black corporation that raised the initial funds for revitalization of the historic street. In a contract signed in 1982 by Wyeth Chandler former mayor of Memphis,BSDC holds the leases to all the property on Beale Street except for Handy Park and Abe Swab's. That's right John Elkington works for a black corporation.

When the Fed-Ex Forum was built, Randle Catron Executive director of BSDC had to sign off so it could be built. When the Fed-Ex Forum's parking garage was built again Catron had to sign off. When the site was chosen for the building of the Westin Hotel because it's located in the area of which BCDC holds the leases Catron had to sign off on the use of the property site. But Elkington along with the city has lead this community to believe That he and Performa have control of Beale Street.

In fact in a document filed May 16,1989 by City of Memphis attorney C. Bradford Foster III in U.S. federal District Court, as of BSDC's role in reference to the historic district. It states that 'BSDC is to oversee the development and mangement of this district. This entity(BSDC) deals directly with the City of Memphis regarding the Beale Street project, And has direct managemant oversight over Beale Street Management .

But Catron and BSDC did not according to Catron, sign for the use of the property that the new garage presently sits. Since Elkington has not paid the $15,000 per month that's due to BSDC for nearly 25 years,And Willie Herenton has never approved the budget of the Corporation,As provided for in the City's agreement with BSDC,maybe there is a joint effort by Willie Herenton and John Elkington to dissolve BSDC by starving it out.

The city has tried to force BSDC to dissolve by violating the city's contract and not funding the budget. In fact the city went as far as to place the net revenues generated from Beale street operations in an out of state bank,Chase Manhattan Bank. Using the account number of ABA#021000021.

The building of the new garage is a direct violation of the contract between the City of Memphis and BSDC,But the city has violated the agreement for over 25 years so one more violation means nothing to them. But to prove that the City is trying to dissolve BSDC and have control themselves or give control to Elkington. The City is presently offering BSDC $200,000 upfront money and $8,333.00 a month for the duration of BSDC's agreement with the city,if they will give up the leases.

It's a known fact that Elkington wants to sell Beale Street, But he can't with BCDC owning the leases. What kind of deal has Herenton made with Elkington that he as the black mayor would try to destroy the black group that gave life back to Beale street.

Why Did The City Of Memphis Give Away Handy Park For One Dollar?

Handy Park on Beale Street has a rich history, That has been enjoyed by thousands for many years. But now it's being used to line the pockets of one man in the person of John Elkington. The City of Memphis leased the park several years ago to Elkington for just one dollar, But yet he has been allowed to make money from events,and from such companies as Budweiser and Pepsi for the privilege of hanging their banner.

Many think that Elkington and his company Performa have control of the street,But that's not so. Beale Street Development Corp, has possession of the leases for the buildings and property on the street for 50 years, This landlord authority was given to them by former mayor Wyeth Chandler when the city at that time agreed to match funds with the corporation to rebuild Beale Street.

The city has refused to pay Beale Street Development one red cent,Since Willie Herenton became mayor. I guess Willie didn't want blacks to control the street, So Elkington was brought in. Elkington has a contract with Beale street Developement to manage the street, But Elkington has been allowed to go beyond the scope of the contract and take control with paying his contractual obligations to Beale Street Development Corp. In fact Beale Street Development is presently in court trying to get what is due them but are being stonewalled. The City is trying to get control of the leases without paying the corporation.

But why did the city turn over the park to Elkington,And how much money is he making off of it? Performa is a for profit Corporation so why did the city allow them control for one dollar? Why is the city allowing Elkington to make money off the park instead of the city making money?

There needs to be an investigation into the dealings on Beale. The Community needs to know why Elkington was given a $1.00 lease,And how much money he making out the park. An investigation also needs to take place to see where the money taken from businesses that should have gone to Beale Street development has gone. And why has the city refused to pay them.

Citizens Of North Memphis Have Been Hoodwinked

The picture that's posted is at Thomas and Firestone, A part of the Belz,Turley takeover known as "The Uptown Project". This project was designed to change the look of North Memphis for the use of developers Jack Belz and Henry Turley.

This area of North Memphis at one time was a booming area for industry. But all of the industry that once was housed in this community is now gone,and the remaining citizens find themselves deserted by the black poli-trick-ans who lied to them telling them" that hope is on the way.

Within a mile of each other as a boy growing up in North Memphis,There was Firestone, E.H.Bruce,International Harvester, Lays Potato Chips, ArrowGlass Boat Factory,Mead Paper Company,And several other industries including a Toy Factory. and Jackson Cookie company. None of these businesses exist any longer in North Memphis.

These business exist no longer because the white power brokers had a plan to buy up property and enforce eminent domain in this area. A pastor with a small church on Third at Chelsea was forced to give up his property for almost nothing while the Glass company next door was allowed to remain, because the Glass Companies building fit into the landscape of what the developers wanted for the area. But the pastor was told that he had to sell his property for what the city wanted to pay him or have it taken from him.

But how has the "Uptown Project" been able to work in a area that has heavy black representation on the City Council along with a black mayor? Because they have been paid off to look the other way. They like Willie Herenton have received thousands in campaign contributions from Belz and Turley.

The property at Auction and Thomas was once called Hurt Village, A public housing community. When this Housing development was closed the residents were told that the projects were to be torn down and a new form of public housing would be built,where citizens were not packed on top of each other. But this was a lie and a plan to move the residents out so that Henry Turley could buy the property. Which he did, and built high priced apartments.

There was also a portion of property at that corner that was the property of Memphis City Schools,Turley used School board member Sara Lewis to acquire that property. The total look of the area will change within the next several years. There was talk of turning the old Firestone plant location into a golf course. many thought that this was a plan for the youth of the "New Chicago" area. But it was not,It was a plan to build a golf course so that the elite who had moved downtown would not have to go out east to golf. This is the primary reason the funding for Manassas High School finally was able to go through without resistance. The powers that be didn't want little black children to be right across from the course when the elite drove into the area.

The "Uptown Project" is one of the main reasons that white power brokers have financed Willie Herenton all these years. This project along with the building up of downtown was on the drawing board during the tenure of Dick Hackett. Hackett was already on board to do the bidding of the Power brokers,But Herenton ease his way passed Hackett to become mayor of the city. This victory by Herenton messed up the plans ,so they had to figure out how to get Herenton on board.

Thats when they decided to give Herenton a "Slush Fund" of $250,000,to use as he saw fit. In other words they bought themselves a Negro. Why did they need Herenton to make their plan work? Because the mayor has Sole Contract Signing Power,In other words he could sign off on contracts without the approval of the Council and anyone else for any dollar amount.

The citizens of North Memphis have been hoodwinked and bamboozled by Willie Herenton and the so called black leadership. Herenton is just a puppet that is handled by Jack Belz, Henry Turley, Fred Smith, And Pitt Hyde. This is the reason that the leadership in the black community must change. Those who we have elected to serve have become self serving.

The citizens of North Memphis have been left to fin for themselves while their leaders take bribes and campaign contributions to turn their heads to what's right. Just how much is that Negro in the window?

City Councilman Myron Lowery is hosting his 16th Annual New Year’s Day Prayer Breakfast and his 13th Annual Jazz Champagne Brunch on Monday, January 1, 2007. Both events will be held at the Holiday Inn Select at Airways and Democrat.

The guest speaker at the 9 a.m. Prayer Breakfast will be Congressman-elect Steve Cohen and the theme will be “Together, Memphis We Will Succeed”. Lowery added, “This theme was selected once again because of my optimistism for the future despite the many challenges our city faced in 2006.” As usual many local civic, community and religious leaders will participate in this event including Rev. Orlester Johnson, Rev. S.H. Mickens and Apostle Perry Maples. Gospel music will be provided by Ernestine Dillard, Deborah Manning Thomas and James Nelson.

Entertainment at the Jazz Champagne Brunch includes Earl Randle, The Peacemakers and the Mayor of Beale Street, Rudy Williams. The Jazz Champagne Brunch begins at 1:30 p.m. and the menu will include barbecue ribs, chicken, collard greens, chitlins, black-eyed peas and champagne. As usual, door prizes will be awarded and everyone will receive a special gift.

Exclusive: Steve Cohen's First 100 Hours In Congress

Steve Cohen on January 4, 2007 will take the oath of office that officially will make him congressman from the 9th Congressional District. But many wonder what his plans for the district are.

Noted publicist and reporter Tony Jones happened to have been at a meeting where the new congressman gave his plan for his first 100 hours in congress. Tony wrote the article and gave it to this site as an exclusive report:

Though he represents a district that does everything with pork but shoot it up, our new 9th District Congressman Steve Cohen says one of the first bills he will sponsor in his inaugural term seeks to kill off the particularly virulent two legged swine mutations cultivated in Washington, D.C.

Hitting the local bases hard before officially taking his seat when congress convenes next month, speaking at a recent Baptist Ministerial luncheon with Mayor Herenton sponsored by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Cohen revealed his part of an ambitious plan by the Democratic Party to launch a blitzkrieg of new bills that could mark a real turnaround of post-Reagan “eat the poor” governance, if it works.

“I have already met with Speaker (Nancy) Pelosi and I will be sponsor or co-sponsor on six bills in the first 100 hours of the 2007 Congress to make government more ethical, accountable and responsible to the average citizen,” he says.

“We plan to push bills to raise the minimum wage to $7.25 an hour over the next two years; clean up unethical ties between lawmakers and lobbyists by banning free travel and gifts and requiring that special interest earmarks to bills require open disclosure; a pay as you go budget requiring that each new expenditure is either funded from inception or that another bill is cut to balance it; significantly more funding for stem cell research; real support to cut drug prices for seniors on Medicare, (did you know it is actually illegal for companies to try to negotiate lower prices?); increasing Pell Grant amounts and slashing interest rates on student loans; implementing the 911 Commission’s main recommendations; and repealing the subsidies to big oil and applying that money to into renewable energy sources.”

Sounds like the return of the Yippies, but Cohen says it’s all actually doable.
With the Ford machine’s self-imposed immolation further underlining his “odd man” in status as a leading voice for the black community, Cohen thinks he’s pulled off a coup in the person of his new Chief of Staff, Shirley Crooks, a female African American who has worked with Andrew Young, among others. The anti-Condi if you will.

“I have a lot of old friends in the Congressional Black Caucus and they helped me find her. She’s absolutely the cream of the crop. I’m telling you we’re ready.”

Did Peete Take Corruption To Beale Street?

Rickey Re-Peete lives in a lovely home in North Memphis that he only paid $10.00 for,Which was a gift from wealthy developer Rusty Hyneman who Peete met in Federal prison in 1989. Peete also has seven luxury cars,plus a condo in Hot Springs Ark. He has two jobs which together is less than $200,000,So how is Peete able to live the lifestyle of the rich and famous?

Peete answers to the name "Godfather",He's known as the man to go to to get your deal done. There's no doubt in the minds of many that his present indictment of bribery and extortion,and political corruption is not his first attempt at using his office as councilman to fatten his wallet. But does his corruption extend to Beale Street, And are there others on the street just as corrupt?

Speaking with a source this evening close to the Beale Street Operation,I'm told that there are several persons worried about whether Peete will dig their sins up. I'm told that several businessmen are alleged to be laundering money from illegal means, And that this is being done out of 152 Beale.

152 Beale is a three story building that holds three different clubs, Where there banking accounts far supersedes the number of customers coming through the clubs. I'm also told that the percentages from the revenue of the clubs that's paid to John Elkington and his company Performa which manages the street do not measure up to those accounts. There's a fear that the businessmen have more than one set of books. Again this is all alleged.

The businessmen who are alleged to be in business at 152 Beale together according to my source are Ralph Lunati, strip club owner, Bud Chitam,Kevin Kane President of the Convention and Vistors Bureau, And Rusty Hyneman. I'm told that this group fears what Peete will tell. I'm also told that Peete who has been behind bringing major sponsers to the street,has been receiving kickbacks from various club owners for filling their clubs.

Peete who presently serves as Executive Director of the Beale Street Merchants, does not have the respect of many of the merchants because of his overbearing ego,and his strutting up the street as though he owned it. Its said that he has told merchants that nothing happens on the street unless it goes through him.

So how much money have merchants paid Peete under the table? Is it possible that corruption is taking place on Beale Street? And could it be possible that the named business men have something to hide? and why would anyone on Beale Street be involved with Rusty Hyneman?

I don't need a source to tell me that Peete has used his position as Councilman to control what happens on Beale Street. If you check paperwork at City Hall you will find that hundreds of thousands of dollars of taxpayers money was approved by the City Council to go to a for profit corporation(The Beale street Merchants Assoc).

Why would the council approve this action? because when you check their Financial Disclosure as I did in 2003, you will find that the Beale Street merchants gave campaign contributions to numerous members of the council. In other words Peete who controls the funds of the Merchant Assoc .bought off other council members.

The Feds took away Peete's computers at his office on Beale Street and at his home,Do you guess some on Beale Street may be worried about what Peete kept on them?

Jennings Bernard Wants To Replace Tajuan

Radio Talk Show Host Jennings Bernard is seeking the appointment to the City Council seat that Tajuan Stout Mitchell is giving up. Bernard who can presently be heard daily from 3-4pm on AM 1600 WMQM has been fighting to change the political scenery of Memphis,through his talk show.

Bernard who is not a Herenton supporter would not be a rubber stamp for the administration,But a voice that would represent the people. He shows his support for change by paying $1000.00 per week out of his pocket to broadcast.

While Jennings and I have not always agreed on some issues,I respect his desire to stand up and say the unpopular things that local poli-trick-ans don't want the public to know.

The council needs some one who will cry loud for the sake of the community,someone who is already successful in business that can not be bought off, And someone who is already fighting for the community. There are council members that will resist him because of the fact that it would no longer be business as usual with Jennings on the council. But we must send a message to them that we will no longer tolerate their "Business As Usual" And that we plan to retire them all,And find people who will be public servants,and not just self serving.

Stephanie Gatewood For City Council?

Has School Board Commissioner Stephanie Gatewood grown weary of being on the board and wants to move to City Hall? The word on the streets is that Gatewood wants a seat on the City Council taking on E.C. Jones for the seat he presently holds.

It's reported that after she heard that Jones was 99% sure that he was going to resign in January,she approached him and told him of her plans to run for the seat. Reports from City Hall state that Jones will not resign and has mentioned that Gatewood is planning to run against him for the seat that represents the Frayser Raleigh area of North Memphis.

Gatewood who has not been the most effective of board members also has to be concerned about the fact that Willie Brooks who she defeated in their race two years ago will be coming back at her with the backing of Pitt Hyde and his political machine. If Gatewood does in fact run she will have to prove that she is knowledgeable about the issues, And that she has the funds to run an effective campaign.

The Black Community Has The Funds To Bring Industry To It's Neighborhoods

The black community has no business waiting for the white community to create wealth or industry in our neighborhoods. We now know that we can not trust the black poli-trick-an to deliver anything other than political rhetoric,and the "It's the White Man's fault". So what can we do to create political power that is not paid for by the white community,Or bring industry back to the "Hood".

It's really very simple,We have the ability ,and the finances already in place to do what needs to be done here in Memphis. We have the power to fund our candidates and to create industry without ever having to wait on a black or white poli-trick-an. Well Thaddeus,whats the secret? It's no secret.it's shown each and every Sunday morning in Memphis and Shelby County.

There's millions that cross church collection tables in the black church. So much so that Brink's has to make pickups from churches with armed deacons watching the money until they arrive. We have built churches where the pastor has a complete living room,den and bedroom, in the Pastor's office. While many pastors have created programs to help in their various communities many have not.

But here's the plan,There are well over 2,000 black churches in Shelby County. But I will base the plan of just 2,000. Every 3 months each church would contribute $1,000 to the "Black Wealth and Empowerment Fund",This fund would be to create industry,and to support blacks running for political positions that have been given an agenda by the people they want to represent. They must also be persons qualified to hold the office and has had a complete background check.

2000 churches giving $1000 every 3 months would raise $8,888,000.00. per year. This fund would be controlled by a board of directors of community people,and people versed in finances. This fund would not be controlled by any pastor,Bishop, or minister, By by a CPA firm that can handle this large amount of money without stealing.

The board of directors would create a search committee to seek businesses to come into the community. The poli-trick-ans supported by this fund would have a mandate to support the agenda of the people and to use their positions to help cut through political red tape to bring industry back into the black community.

Would these industries just hire blacks? Of course not,This is not a plan of racism but a plan of Black folk taking care of themselves without waiting for handouts from bought and paid for poli-trick-ans. This plan should cut down on black political corruption because the black candidate would not have to seek funding from power brokers and developers. And to those who choose to still be greedy and corrupt they would have to know that the black community would not support them in any way.

I know that this is a waste of space,Because Black preachers in this city will not come together to support anything that they have no control over. But I think that it's a workable idea. Hey, what about by passing the church and giving your tithes to the community?

It's Time To Get Off the Ship

Even though blacks came to this side of the world on slave ships,We no longer have to act as though we're slaves to anything and any one. Coming from the loins of Kings and Queens of history past,We as a race of people to be free must act that way. Freedom takes place in our hearts and minds before it takes place socially. Therefore if we want the black community to be free we must not only change our hearts but our minds as well.

Its time to free ourselves from that which bind us,And the biggest problem is ourselves. Until we take back our communities and our politics we will forever be bound. To be free we must acknowledge that the indictment of Black poli-trick-ans in Memphis and Shelby County may be a God-send. If these wolves in black clothing have deceived us and worked the agenda of those who choose to keep the black community dumbed down,Its good that their cover has been blown.

If our communities are no better off with them in office,than the black community must remove them. To many blacks want to hold on to that thought that anything that a black man does wrong is better than anything a white man can do right . But that's the wrong thought,Wrong is wrong,and right is right and neither comes in a color. We have allowed certain black leaders to brainwash us into the wrong mindset so that they can continue to be used by white power brokers to turn our neighborhoods into wastelands so that these power brokers can buy the property for little or nothing.

Willie Herenton made the statement while running for office the first time "You Can Not Be Free As Long As You Take The White Man's Money", But yet has taken millions from them. He sits in a office downtown where white developers have used him to create their "UpTown Project".And to further their cause he and other black political trickster have allowed all of the industry of North Memphis to leave so that property values would go down. And when you now drive up Thomas Street you see Belz Property signs on every corner.

Rickey Re-Peete made every deal but a deal for the people,maybe his sorry ass will have time to think about his deceit behind Federal prison walls. Barbara Swearingan Holt who also represents the area wants to pride herself in attaching her name to Community Centers, But what industry has she brought back to the community that will allow the children who frequent the Center's parents to be better able to take care of their families?

The black community allowed Ophelia Ford to be elected without ever campaigning and telling us what her platform was. State Representative Ulysses Jones has been heard to tell some that he and others have had to help her write bills. But this poli-trick-an who spent the summer in rehab is exactly what that area of the black community deserves,because for years anyone named Ford has not been held accountable and has been given blind love and affection. But when you look at the community that had 31 years of Fords leading them you don't see many changes.

I heard many blacks say that they knew that she's not capable of doing the job, But they gave her their vote because she's black. This type of thinking will keep some blacks forever on the ship. What I'm simply saying is, That to be free we must throw some of our black poli-trick-ans overboard. We must stop looking for white folk to do for us what we can do for ourselves. We must stop looking to the government to give us their welfare programs,And demand that our black leaders bring industry back to our neighborhoods. We must demand that the churches that we give millions to each Sunday return that money back to the community,but creating businesses.

We must stop looking for the white community for deliverance,And deliver ourselves. James Brown gave us the formula for getting off the boat in the words of this song:

Say It Loud I'm Black And I'm Proud

Listen to the song by James Brown that in the 60's gave blacks in America a sense of pride in a country that didn't believe that "All Men Are Created Equal". This song took a race of people from spooks and coons, colored's, And niggers, to a term that that gave us a true identify of ourselves. A word (Black) that once was a fighting word became the most positive word that blacks in America could utter.

But what has become of that pride,that those who we choose to lead us have become the ones to deceive us? What has become of that pride when some choose to receive monthly hand outs instead of demanding that our churches which have millions traveling across their collection tables invest in the black community?

Where is that pride when finally we arrive on the political scene,and then find everyone that we elected placing a prison sentence? Where is that pride when we fill jails with black men? Where is that pride when so many black men would rather steal than work? Where is that pride when we choose to kill each other over nickels and dimes? And where is that pride when we condone the wrong of black poli-trick-ans?

Black leaders,black preachers,and black community leaders should be demanding that Rickey Re-Peete and Edmund Ford resign from the City council. Even if they have not been convicted their service to the community has been tarnish and that service will be limited. But greater than that a message must be sent from the black community that betrayal of the public's trust will not be tolerated.

This call can not come from the white community,Because they didn't place them in office,They didn't make any promises to the white community.Therefore they must be dealt with by the black community,the party of people who allowed these tricksters to rise to political power.

As we approach a new year there will be more indictments,some of which will be black,There will be positions to fill on the "Silly Council" and the mayor's office. It's time for black Memphis to stand up for what's right. It does not take away your blackness to oust blacks who no longer have the interest of the black community at heart. But it proves just how proud you are we you don't allow a wolf wrapped in black to destroy what many blacks gave their lives for.

Heaven today truly got a Christmas present in the soul of James Brown. Brown crossed out of time into eternity early this morning. Brown was a musical icon,and one of the greatest legends of R&B,and soul.

In 1968 in the midst of racial uprisings,where Colored people were looking for a way to have pride in being in the skin that they were in,Brown gave that pride in the words of a song entitled "Say It Loud,I'm Black And Proud". For many blacks in America this song is still our anthem.

ATLANTA, Georgia (AP) -- James Brown, the dynamic, pompadoured "Godfather of Soul," whose rasping vocals and revolutionary rhythms made him a founder of rap, funk and disco as well, died early Monday, his agent said. He was 73.
Brown was hospitalized with pneumonia at Emory Crawford Long Hospital on Sunday and died around 1:45 a.m. Monday, said his agent, Frank Copsidas of Intrigue Music. Longtime friend Charles Bobbit was by his side, he said.Copsidas said Brown's family was being notified of his death and that the cause was still uncertain. "We really don't know at this point what he died of," he said

Along with Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan and a handful of others, Brown was one of the major musical influences of the past 50 years. At least one generation idolized him, and sometimes openly copied him. His rapid-footed dancing inspired Mick Jagger and Michael Jackson among others. Songs such as David Bowie's "Fame," Prince's "Kiss," George Clinton's "Atomic Dog" and Sly and the Family Stone's "Sing a Simple Song" were clearly based on Brown's rhythms and vocal style.

If Brown's claim to the invention of soul can be challenged by fans of Ray Charles and Sam Cooke, then his rights to the genres of rap, disco and funk are beyond question. He was to rhythm and dance music what Dylan was to lyrics: the unchallenged popular innovator.
"James presented obviously the best grooves," rapper Chuck D of Public Enemy once told The Associated Press. "To this day, there has been no one near as funky. No one's coming even close."

His hit singles include such classics as "Out of Sight," "(Get Up I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine," "I Got You (I Feel Good)" and "Say It Out Loud -- I'm Black and I'm Proud," a landmark 1968 statement of racial pride."I clearly remember we were calling ourselves colored, and after the song, we were calling ourselves black," Brown said in a 2003 Associated Press interview. "The song showed even people to that day that lyrics and music and a song can change society."

He won a Grammy award for lifetime achievement in 1992, as well as Grammys in 1965 for "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" (best R&B recording) and for "Living In America" in 1987 (best R&B vocal performance, male.) He was one of the initial artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, along with Presley, Chuck Berry and other founding fathers.
He triumphed despite an often unhappy personal life. Brown, who lived in Beech Island near the Georgia line, spent more than two years in a South Carolina prison for aggravated assault and failing to stop for a police officer. After his release on in 1991, Brown said he wanted to "try to straighten out" rock music.

From the 1950s, when Brown had his first R&B hit, "Please, Please, Please" in 1956, through the mid-1970s, Brown went on a frenzy of cross-country tours, concerts and new songs. He earned the nickname "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business."
With his tight pants, shimmering feet, eye makeup and outrageous hair, Brown set the stage for younger stars such as Michael Jackson and Prince.

In 1986, he was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And rap stars of recent years overwhelmingly have borrowed his lyrics with a digital technique called sampling.
Brown's work has been replayed by the Fat Boys, Ice-T, Public Enemy and a host of other rappers. "The music out there is only as good as my last record," Brown joked in a 1989 interview with Rolling Stone magazine.

"Disco is James Brown, hip-hop is James Brown, rap is James Brown; you know what I'm saying? You hear all the rappers, 90 percent of their music is me," he told the AP in 2003.
Born in poverty in Barnwell, South Carolina, in 1933, he was abandoned as a 4-year-old to the care of relatives and friends and grew up on the streets of Augusta, Georgia, in an "ill-repute area," as he once called it. There he learned to wheel and deal."I wanted to be somebody," Brown said.

By the eighth grade in 1949, Brown had served 31/2 years in Alto Reform School near Toccoa, Ga., for breaking into cars.While there, he met Bobby Byrd, whose family took Brown into their home. Byrd also took Brown into his group, the Gospel Starlighters. Soon they changed their name to the Famous Flames and their style to hard R&B.
In January 1956, King Records of Cincinnati signed the group, and four months later "Please, Please, Please" was in the R&B Top Ten.

While most of Brown's life was glitz and glitter, he was plagued with charges of abusing drugs and alcohol and of hitting his third wife, Adrienne.
In September 1988, Brown, high on PCP and carrying a shotgun, entered an insurance seminar next to his Augusta office. Police said he asked seminar participants if they were using his private restroom.

Police chased Brown for a half-hour from Augusta into South Carolina and back to Georgia. The chase ended when police shot out the tires of his truck.Brown received a six-year prison sentence. He spent 15 months in a South Carolina prison and 10 months in a work release program before being paroled in February 1991. In 2003, the South Carolina parole board granted him a pardon for his crimes in that state.
Soon after his release, Brown was on stage again with an audience that included millions of cable television viewers nationwide who watched the three-hour, pay-per-view concert at Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles.

Adrienne Brown died in 1996 in Los Angeles at age 47. She took PCP and several prescription drugs while she had a bad heart and was weak from cosmetic surgery two days earlier, the coroner said.More recently, he married his fourth wife, Tomi Raye Hynie, one of his backup singers. The couple had a son, James Jr.

This year is almost gone,and during this year this blog has become the political blog to view for many daily. This site has allowed many to share there honest views on subject matters while remaining anonymous. I allow this feature because there's so much to learn from a person who hides behind this banner.This person will let us know whats really going on in Memphis.

One thing that we have learned is that racism and bigotry is alive and well in Shelby County. But I have also received so many leads on where to look for information that is hidden from the community.

This site has been able to scoop the mainstream media on many stories this year,In fact many of their stories have come from viewing this site. That does not bother me,Because when I saw the CA several weeks ago print two articles on their front page that I had broke days earlier,It allowed me to know that no matter what my detractors say this site has become a creditable news source.

Next year I will continue to dig for the information that many in power does not want the community to know. I will be adding new features as they become available to enhance this blog. I just purchased a digital camera that I will always have on me,So that I can place pictures on the site that other forms of media may miss or be fearful to let you see.

The Spirit Of Christmas Should Not Just Be Seasonal

To the thousands who have visited this blog this year both friend and foe,I would like to wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas.

During this time of year many feel the urge to help the less fortunate,and those who for whatever reason seem to be down on their luck. We feed the hungry, We clothed those without clothing, We try to provide shelter for those who live from place to place,Or sleep wherever they can lay their heads.

But what about the rest of the year, Why is it that we don't see the need of others? Are we helping during this season only to make ourselves feel good about something that our society should be doing all year long?

This is not just a political problem but a society problem. We must tell our poli-trick-ans to not just use this season as a photo opt,But to address the needs of the poor as an agenda to serve. Not more welfare programs,Not more give away programs, But programs that provide funding for jobs. I urge Congressman-elect Steve Cohen to find funding and seek industry to bring back to Memphis that will a allow a man to fish daily,and not just eat one day.

I was riding through the community I grew up in a little area in North Memphis called "New Chicago" and its not the booming area of industry it was when I was a boy. I could stand on the front porch and smell the cookies being baked at Jackson Cookie Company. Some time the aroma of cookies would fix in the air with the rubber smell of Firestone,just around the corner.

As I walked to Manassas High School,I would pass a Wood Company,whose name escapes me now,But I would also pass ArrowGlass Boat Factory. Lays Potato Chip Company,was also in the community alone with a Toy Factory. E.L. Bruce Flooring Company was just up the street on Thomas.

All these industries were within walking distant for so many men who worked hard to feed their families, Now many of those same men have lost their families and find themselves sleeping in the street ,And because they lost all hope turn to drugs as a way to take their minds off the plight they find themselves in.

This area is totally represented by black leadership,But that leadership allowed every one of those industries to leave North Memphis. The mayor joined in with the white power brokers such as Pitt Hyde, Henry Turley and Jack Belz with their "Uptown Project",And has allowed alone with black members of the City Council to buy up property and use eminent domain to plan a hostile takeover of this area.

The black community of North Memphis has no one to blame but themselves,They keep electing the same self serving, Negroes to office without holding them accountable. Well at least they won't have to worry anymore about Rickey Re-Peete,who has betrayed the public trust and now is facing a long term in prison. Is this the only hope for the black community, that all the present poli-trick-ans must go to jail,So that we are forced to grasp hold to our communities and replace leadership?

Christmas day celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ,But his spirit should abide in us the whole year. His spirit of giving and caring should be a part of life's daily walk. But his spirit was not one where we are to allow injustice to linger when we can take a stand against it. I will continue next year if God allows me to live to fight against those injustice's boldly,and hope that you will join me as we take back our communities from those whose only agenda is themselves.

Should The Pastor Report Your Sins?

Some members of Bellevue baptist are upset with their new pastor over not reporting that one of the preachers at the church had molested a child 17 years ago.

Children's advocates say Tennessee law is clear.
"It is that every person is required to make a report to an agency like Department of Children's Services if they have reason to believe that someone may, a child may have been molested or abused," said Nancy Williams, with the Memphis Child Advocacy Center.
According to Bellevue Pastor Steve Gaines' own words, he didn't just have reason to believe it, he had a confession from one of his ministers, who admitted to molesting a child.

"In June of this year... I had a confidential meeting with_________ and he shared with me regarding this activity that took place some 17 years ago in his family," said Gaines in an address to Church members this week."No matter when it happened, it's got to be reported," said Susan Mackenzie, a Memphis attorney who has represented adult survivors of child sex abuse.
She says reporting abuse is important because it could encourage other victims to come forward and prevent additional crimes.

"Child sexual abuse is rarely an isolated incident if an adult has sexually abused one child the odds are there other children out there," she said. Tennessee's reporting law applies to everyone. There are no exceptions, not even for clergy."It is that responsibility that we all carry and if we fail in that responsibility there needs to be some consequences to us," Mackenzie explained.And there are consequences. Not reporting child abuse is punishable by up to three months in jail and the possibility of a fine. This was increased just last year by the Tennessee Legislature from a maximum of $50 to $2500.

So what do you think should happen to the good pastor,should he be fired or forgiven for not making a report. And do you trust your child with church personnel? Is this the only church where this has happen? Or do you think that the confession should have stayed with the pastor.What about the confession that Catholics make in that little box,Does the priest have to report what he's told?

Rusty Hyneman Didn't Give A $50,000 Watch To John Ford For Nothing

John Ford bragged about the fact that he got a $50,000 watch from developer Rusty Hyneman for free. John also asserted that he saved Rusty 1.3 million dollars and Rusty gave him the watch as a gift.

First of all there's nothing free,And why would Rusty give a $50,000 gift to John without him getting something in return? What gets john in trouble is his ego,Why would he brag about rusty giving him a watch for helping him save millions,when that help was illegal?

U.S. Attorney David Kustoff and Assistant District Attorney Tim Discenza are seeking to enter the watch as evidence against Ford to show that he has the will to peddle his political influence for a price.

But the biggest question is when will Rusty Hyneman get indicted. If taking the watch was wrong,so is Rusty's bribing Ford to use his influence. But John maybe the Fed's want you so badly that they're cutting a deal with Rusty to testify against you. Maybe the Fed's have something else on Rusty concerning his involvement with corrupt poli-trick-ans that the government will let him go to get them.

Hyneman's name appears on nearly every political campaign disclosure in Shelby County. He gives thousands to poli-trick-ans in his name, his wife's name and his brother's name. So it's certain that he has used this self serving poli-trick-ans to do his bidding and the bidding of others. So every poli-trick-an in this county who has had some shady dealings with Hyneman should be very concerned as to weather or not he's snitching you out.

Ed Ford Got Punked By Joe Cooper And Rusty Hyneman

Edmund Ford is in the funeral Business,In his business he leases a hearse and several limo's. This would mean that he has an account with a leasing company,so maybe someone can answer for me why he needed to have Rusty Hyneman and Joe Cooper to get him a Cadillac for him and one for his wife?

Ed can't say that he got the Caddy's for the funeral home,when his rolling stock for the business is Lincoln's. So will someone explain to me why he would allow Rusty and Joe to get cars for him for his influence and then pay a note. You would think that if he selling his influence he would at least get the cars free.

Now let me see if I've got this right,I want to use you as a poli-trick-an to do my bidding, you want a cadillac for your services. So instead of me buying one for you knowing that your influence on the City council is going to either make me money or save me money,I trick you into thinking I'm doing you a favor by providing you a car in my name and make you pay the notes.

So what I've done is used you and gave you nothing in return. Oh you're driving a brand new cadillac, But since it's in my name and even though you're paying the note,I can come get the car any time I want because it's my car. Ed Ford is facing prison and got nothing out of the deal. He got indicted and Joe Cooper didn't. He doesn't own the building that the funeral home is located in,and if he goes to prison he loses everything. ED FORD YOU GOT PUNKED.

What Would You Like To Give John For Christmas?

Since this may be John Ford's last Christmas at home for a while I thought it would be nice to let him know what you would like to give him for the holidays. Looking at the picture you can see I thought he may need a key to unlock his handcuffs or his cell.

Sources Say New Indictments Are Coming Today At 1:00

I've just received a call from a source stating that the Fed's will be having a 1PM press conference in Nashville to announce new indictments. Could a $40,000 watch have anything to do with it?

Ed Should Have Let The Repo Man Catch Him Than The FBI

Today I went to the Federal Building to get copies of the indictments against Rickey Re-Peete and Edmund Ford. As I began to read Ed's indictment,I saw that his fall from grace started over pass due car notes.

The indictment states that on August 30,2006 Joe Cooper met Ford at his mortuary on Elvis Presley. Cooper gave Ford $3,000 in cash folded in the invoice for the car payment. At the beginning of the meeting,Cooper brought up the subject of Ford's delinquent car payments.

Ford looked at the money in the envelope and put it back on the table.Cooper than told him that there was enough there to make July,August and September payments. At this point Cooper started to talk about the billboard project pending before the City Council.Cooper went on to say that the staff of the Land Use Control Board and the Office of Planning and development had rejected the project. Ford began to discuss which Council members were likely to vote in favor of the project. Ford suggested that Cooper talk to Two of the council men himself. He also told Cooper 'You'll good to go".

At the end of the meeting Edmund took the folded invoice containing the money off the table and put it in his pocket.As he did this,he talked about lining up the votes for the billboard project. As he put the money in his pocket Ford said that other than the two councilmen Cooper needed to talk to, "I can handle the rest of it,I can handle all of that for you".

Here's more car note drama. On October 2,2006 Joe Cooper again went to the mortuary where he showed Ford a diagram of the site of the billboard project, and Ford agreed to speak in favor of the project if needed. After additional discussion Ford promised not to forget to promote the project with the other councilmen,and as he said this he put Cooper's diagram in his pocket.

Immediately after this,Cooper asked Ford had he made the car payments,Which he replied "Yeah" But Cooper said he would give him money for a couple more payments. Cooper counted $1900 on the table,as Cooper counted Ford talked about lining up the votes. Cooper pushed the money across the table to Ford and asked him to be sure not to forget to push the project.Ford took the money,As he put the money in his pocket Ford said "I'll drum up seven votes or make somebody walk out". Ford assured Cooper that "I'll make certain to have the right number of votes.

Yes it seems that Ed problems started over his not paying his car note,But here's what's real stupid,You allow yourself to be used by developers and power brokers but instead of getting a free car from them,He got a car in Rusty Hyneman's name and has to pay a car note. What Ed did not realize is that at anytime that Hyneman wanted the car he could come and get it and there would have been nothing that he could legally do about it.

So he allowed himself to be used by Joe Cooper who was paying him bribe money that Ford had to use to pay car notes, on cars that Cooper received commissions off of. Ed don't you feel real stupid?

Is There A Difference?

Edmund and John are Brothers,Both are under indictments for using there their political influence for their own financial gain. Both could go to prison for a long time. Could Edmund who has had to struggle hard to make ends meet,have just wanted to have just a little of what his older brother has?

Rickey Re-Peete is known to have the biggest ego in local politics. Some call him "Godfather" others say that he's the man to go to to get a political deal done. He has 7 luxury cars,a condo in Arkansas, a nice home in North Memphis that he received from Rusty Hyneman for just $10.00. who was jail mate the first time around.

But will his massive ego help him now as he faces a return trip to prison? He's not seen now parading up and down Beale Street as though he owns it. The grin that was seen as he left the federal prison several weeks ago was just a front. Peete knows that his friend Joe Cooper set him up, and that the Fed's have the goods on him. He knows that he's perhaps going away for a long time.

But some on the streets are wondering if he can survive a return trip to prison,some have went as far as to say he may do something to himself to keep from going back to prison. Peete would probably as second time offender not go to some plush prison, but to a prison that is maximum security. of course he's worried about losing his Kingpin status, But he also has to wonder what will become of all his possessions including his wife.

Is It Time For Peete And Ford To Sing?

I was present in the Council Chambers when word of the indictments of Rickey Re-Peete and Edmund Ford came down. The indictments of bribery and extortion carry a total of 30 years in prison,so I don't wonder why Peete left out of the chamber to get on his cell. Most likely he made a call to his attorney. He returned for a short period of time but left out not to return.

Ford remained through the council meeting but went out a rear door after telling media at the end of the council meeting to talk to his lawyer. The $23,400 that the two council members are allege to have taken from Joe Cooper will certainly get them some jail time. Cooper who is rumored to have cancer is said to have cut a deal with the feds to save himself. New allegations came forth also today. Peete and ford where paid $4,500 by Cooper to have the Chairman of the memphis and Shelby County Board of adjustments removed,which did not occur.

I advise Edmund and Rickey to cut a deal and save themselves.I'm sure that Rickey knows of other corrupt poli-trick-ans that have cut shady deals,Its now time for him to give them up,because as a repeat offender he's looking at spending a long time in prison. Edmund who has not been in trouble before needs to either plead guilty,or start singing a song that the Fed's want to hear.

Reginald French Treated Unjustly By The City Council

Attending today's city council meeting I saw something that I've never seen out of the many council meetings that I have attended. Reginald French,Chairman of the Alcohol and Beer Commission was reappointed to the commission and as soon as he left the appointment was snatched from him.

In the morning committee meeting French was grilled for over a hour on everything from wearing a wire for the FBI to what a council person stated he heard on a elevator about one of his employees not getting paid. French also told those present in the morning session that he had no direct contracts with the city.

French felt that his grilling and trial like session with the committee was all about race and politics. It was brought up about his campaign contribution from a strip club owner,which he admitted receiving. I might ad there is no law against taking a contribution from a owner of a strip club.

French, 41, who ran this year as the Democratic nominee for Shelby County Sheriff, accepted a $1,000 campaign contribution from Platinum Plus strip club owner Ralph Lunati and another $1,000 donation from Black Tail Shake Joint proprietor Charles "Jerry" Westlund. French told council members the contributions were legal and did not sway his votes on the commission. He pointed to a $26,000 fine levied by the commission last month against the Black Tail Shake Joint for prostitution complaints. French was also asked about his cooperation with federal authorities in Atlanta after he was caught transferring $10,000 from a contractor to two Atlanta city officials. He testified in a January 2003 corruption trial there that he wore a recording device during the FBI probe. French referred any other questions on that matter to the FBI.


I wonder how many of the council members grilling him have received campaign contributions from persons who come before the council? In the afternoon session the vote went alone racial lines with all the whites voting against French with the exception of Brent Taylor who did vote for French on the first vote. All the blacks voted for French with the exception of Myron Lowery who voted against him.

When the vote was taken French won by 1 vote. He left the chambers the two of us had a brief conversation outside the chamber and he left. Within 10 minutes of his departure,Brent Taylor asked for reconsideration of the appointment. Remember Taylor voted in favor of French,but all of a sudden he states that he didn't know what he was voting for. He stated that the item on the agenda was called out of order. But that's the way of the council,I've been to many council meeting and never has an agenda been called in numerical order.

But Taylor stated that since he was not in committee meeting that he had some questions. But why didn't Taylor asked those questions before he casted his vote? Has Taylor been sniffing embalming fluid so that his mind is clogged and he doesn't know what he's doing. After Tom Marshall went over the same questions that French was grilled over earlier in the day the vote was taken again.

This time French lost by 1 vote, Brent Taylor didn't even vote he abstain. So what was this all about.Did someone get to Taylor,Did Taylor suddenly remember that he was not suppose to vote for French? The process today was totally unfair to French,he should have been allowed the chance to stand again before the council to answer any questions that Taylor had. Or the appointment could have been tabled until the next council meeting.

After the vote councilman Joe Brown became upset stating that some members of the council are racist and that they need to check their hearts. Brown also stated that even though blacks are the majority in Memphis,that many blacks feel that the black council members are lap dogs to the white power brokers. Brown disgusted with the action of fellow council members left the chambers wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.

I received a call tonight from French who stated to me that he's okay with the decision of the council,but has a problem with Myron Lowery. French stated that he had spoken with Lowery 4 different times and had been assured by him that he would be voting for him. French went on to say that he had been told by other black council members not to believe anything that Lowery said. Pastor Melvin Charles Smith French's pastor had also been told by Lowery that his vote was going to keep French on the commission.

Its time to change the entire council and replace them with people that will do whats right no matter what the color of someones skin may be. Had I not been at today's meeting I would not believed what I saw. No matter what you think of Reginald French, and the two of us are many times on different sides of the political table,today he was mistreated and done unjustly by the city council.

Myron Lowery Saids That He That He Would Only Run For Mayor Under The Right Conditions

After the City Council meeting today I asked city council member Myron Lowery if he had plans to run for mayor. He stated that he would only run under the right conditions. I asked what those conditions were,he replied "I will not run against Willie Herenton" Lowery stated that the last three years of herenton's tenure has some question marks but he feels that overall Herenton has been a good mayor.

Lowery states that's his attention is on running for re-election and the Charter commission. He agreed to may sure that I have the minutes of the charter Commission to post here,in fact since the council meeting I have received minutes of past meetings.

There are those who believe that Lowery has every intention of running for mayor,But he says that he will not get involved in a race similar to that of the 9th congressional race where many blacks jumped in the race. but what do you think,Should Lowery run for mayor? Could he beat Herenton? Is his voting in line with white council members his way of stating to the white community,that he's alright?

There has been talk from some in the black community that he voted in favor of Rickey Re-Peete eand Edmund Ford resigning ,when no other black member did because he's seeking favor from the white community. Now some are questioning his vote against Reginald French. What ever his reason we'll see if the conditions make a decision for him to take on Willie Herenton.

Has Senator Ophelia Ford Committed TENNCARE Fraud?

I received a call from someone whose familiar with the TENNCARE program who wonder why it was not exposed that Ophelia Ford up until March 3,2005 was receiving TENNCARE benefits. The source stated that the only reason that Ophelia was disenrolled was because she was preparing to run for state senate and did not want it to be found that she ad committed TENNCARE fraud.

The source states that documents provided through TENNCARE providers show that Ophelia E. Ford,with the social security number 413-82-XXXX,was a TENNCARE recipent. But the question is,did she qualify. or has our new senator committed fraud.

Ford who was employed at both Blue Cross-Blue shield,and at N.J.Ford and Sons funeral home income was to high to be considered for the state funded program that was designed to care for the poor. The TENNCARE program that its alleged that she was a part of was OMNICARE. OMNICARE? isn't that the company that Harold Sr was a lobbyist for? Isn't it also the company that Harold Sr. And former state Rep. Alvin King started? Isn't it also the company that TBI investigated? Isn't this the same company whose parent company name is United American Healthcare of Tn, did was also paying John Ford?

Is it possible that our new state senator committed TENNCARE fraud? The source stated that if the feds wanted proof they could check the records of Dr.Lloyd Robinson and Dr.Marlah Mardis. It's alleged that these were the doctors that were paid through TENNCARE for Ophelia Ford's benefit.

Could big brother John have provided a way for baby sister to get medical care on the backs of the citizens of Tennessee? And if Ophelia was on TENNCARE,I wonder how many more working Fords are getting assistance from taxpayers?

John Don't Drop The Soap,Because You're On Your Way To Prison

John Ford must not be cooperating with the fed's in his Tennessee Waltz indictment because Monday, a Nashville Federal grand jury indicted the former state senator on charges of taking close to a million dollars in kickbacks for state contracts.

"As a public servant, Senator Ford had a duty to provide honest services to the people of Tennessee," Craig Morford, U.S. Attorney for Middle Tennessee said at a press conference Monday morning. "The facts that are alleged in this indictment reveal an appalling willingness by Senator Ford to violate that duty by using his public position for personal gain."

The indictment alleges Ford was paid close to a million dollars by two TennCare Contractors, Doral Dental in Milwaukee and OmniCare in Memphis. The indictment covers years from 2001 to 2005. In Nashville, Morford said Ford received $400,000 in consulting fees from Omnicare. "During the time of those payments, Senator Ford sought to assist Omnicare in a variety of ways, in asking Tennessee public officials to assist in having TennCare enrollees assigned to Omnicare," he said.

Ford is also accused of using his position as a state Senator to help Doral Dental get the lucrative TennCare state contracts for dental services...and getting paid 400-thousand dollars from Doral. "I'm here to tell you that the federal, state and local agencies are working together to combat corrupt activities," said My Harrision, Special Agent in Charge of the Memphis FBI Field Office.

It's my opinion that Ford has not given the FBI the information what they want as far as the names and deeds of other corrupt poli-trick-ans. And it's certain that he knows. Is this Middle Tennessee indictment to let John ford know that he's not untouchable? Is it also to let him know that a trial in nashville will not be to his advantage,and that a jury would more than likely send him to prison?

I think that it's all but certain that John Ford will go to prison,but the feds want him to take some others with him. If the feds were to look real close,they would find Harold Ford Sr finger prints on Omni Care's payment plan. Harold received thousands as a consultant. Also if they check state records they will find that Ophelia Ford was enrolled in TENNCARE under the Omni Care plan until March of 2005.

TennCare deal paid Ford $1.6 million

Ex-congressman's consulting fees drain resources, critics say

A TennCare subcontractor paid former congressman Harold Ford $45,750 a month through a consulting agreement that raises new questions about big-dollar side deals within the state's taxpayer-funded health plan for the poor. Ford's consulting firm received $1.6 million between 1998 and 2001 from MIM Corp., a New York-based firm that has collected several hundred million dollars from TennCare.

Over that period, Ford also received more than $1 million to act as a registered lobbyist for seven firms, including MIM and the company that managed a defunct TennCare managed care organization.

Neither Ford nor MIM would talk about his specific duties on behalf of the company.

However, MIM hired Ford just as it launched an effort to win contracts worth $200 million to manage the pharmacy benefits for six TennCare managed care organizations.

Officials with MIM's chief competitor for those contracts say they believe Ford helped sway the MCOs to MIM.

Ford's influence on TennCare continues to grow. His consulting and lobbying firm, The Harold Ford Group, has hired Gov. Don Sundquist's former chief of staff, Wendell Moore, who's been pushing for TennCare concessions for MIM.

News of Ford's fees touches a nerve among critics who long suspected that consulting deals were padding costs and draining resources from TennCare.

"It's an awful lot of money to spend on one consultant, that's for sure," said Craig Becker, president of the Tennessee Hospital Association.

Becker was among those who pushed the state to release financial information on private companies hired by TennCare.

Goaded by persistent reports of MCOs funneling generous consulting fees to politically connected friends, Becker and others were concerned that some contractors couldn't pay health care providers.

In 1999, the state began requiring more financial disclosures from privately run MCOs hired by TennCare, but officials still know little about some firms' expenditures that are believed to have contributed to the failure of two health plans.

One failed MCO, Access Med Plus, had racked up an estimated $80 million to $100 million in debts to hospitals, doctors and other health care providers by the time the state took it over last fall.

Ford's deal with MIM came to light as The Commercial Appeal took a closer look at the state takeover of Access MedPlus. Serving 279,000 poor or otherwise uninsurable residents, the company received nearly all its revenue from TennCare and also had a large contract with MIM.

The company that managed Access MedPlus paid Ford $295,000 in lobbying fees, including $180,000 in 1998 to assist an ambitious health care venture in developing African nations.

Ford said his fees from Medical Care Management Co. had nothing to do with the failure of Access MedPlus because the health plan and the management firm were separate entities.

"I don't want to leave it out here, 'Oh, they paid Harold Ford, you know, he was a consultant, and didn't pay the providers,' " Ford said in a telephone interview from Miami, where his consulting and lobbying firm operates one of three offices.

"Well, the providers wouldn't have been paid out of the management money anyway."

Officials sifting through the Access MedPlus wreckage don't share that view.

Medical Care Management Co. received up to $53 million a year to run Access MedPlus. Those funds should have been used to ensure the health plan was run properly and providers were paid, said Manny Martins, the assistant commissioner of Commerce and Insurance overseeing Ten Care MCOs.

"Those two entities are inseparable through this contract arrangement," he said.

MIM payments

Ford's consulting deal with MIM is revealed in a statement filed last June with stock regulators.

Monthly payments, totaling $549,000 a year over the three-year contract, were made for "lobbying and health care related services," according to an MIM proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ford's fees exceeded the salary of MIM chief executive officer Richard H. Friedman, who received $451,596 in 2000, company records show.

Ford's consulting agreement began in October 1998 with an initial term set to expire Oct. 13, 2001. Ford joined MIM's board of directors last year, but it was unclear whether his consulting contract has been renewed.

"Harold does very, very good work for this company," said MIM vice president and general counsel Barry A. Posner. Calling Ford "a trusted adviser," Posner said the former Memphis congressman provides "advice on governmental contracts," but declined to discuss details of those services.

Records show MIM hired Ford 14 days after the benefits management firm ended a business relationship that could have cost it several hundred million dollars in lost TennCare revenue unless steps were taken to recover that income.

MIM helped service six Ten

Care MCOs through a contract with RxCare, a for-profit prescription drug network owned by the Tennessee Pharmacists Association. As a pharmacy benefits manager, MIM manages client files for MCOs to track prescription drug use and help keep costs down.

TennCare accounted for about $327 million, or 72 percent, of MIM's $451 million in revenue in 1998, company rec ords show.

But on Sept. 29, 1998, MIM and RxCare announced they were parting ways.

At the time, federal agents were investigating an alleged kickback scheme surrounding MIM's original landing of Ten Care contracts in 1994.

Three men, including an RxCare executive and MIM's founder, eventually pleaded guilty to misdemeanor health care fraud charges.

But MIM's explanation for severing its ties to RxCare dwelt in part on the company's intention to expand business operations outside Tennessee, a move that has gradually reduced MIM's reliance on TennCare.

After separating, former partners MIM and RxCare agreed to compete for TennCare contracts set to expire at the end of 1998.

MIM executives noted in a quarterly financial statement that failure to directly market to the Tennessee MCOs "would have a material adverse effect on the Company's financial condition and results of operations."

In direct competition, MIM beat the pharmacists' group on its home turf to win contracts with six TennCare MCOs, including Access MedPlus, Xantus and Memphis-based firms TLC and Omnicare.

Two Tennessee Pharmacists Association officials believe Ford had a hand in influencing MCO executives to pick MIM over RxCare, the TPA subsidiary, for the multimillion-dollar pharmacy management contracts.

"They had some political clout," said Baeteena Black, TPA executive director.

Black said she began seeing Ford at government meetings on MIM's behalf at the time and was told Ford was employing his extensive contacts across the state to ensure that MCOs would go with MIM.

Ford declined comment when asked if his agreement with MIM included persuading MCOs to sign with the firm.

Asked the same, MIM's Posner terminated an interview with a reporter.

Some of Ford's work for MIM involved lobbying the federal Health Care Financing Administration, the executive branch and the House of Representatives, according to his lobbying reports filed between 1998 and last year.

Ford's $180,000 in lobbying fees from MIM represented about a tenth of the firm's total payments to him, the remainder evidently stemming from consulting work he and his client consider confidential.

Ford's influence

In the wake of the Access MedPlus collapse in October, Ford arranged a meeting in the Governor's Office to ask state officials to let MIM retain the pharmacy benefit work it had performed through Access MedPlus.

State officials listened - and even asked another provider to help - before determining that the logistics of Ford's proposal weren't feasible.

Among those attending the high-stakes meeting was attorney Hardy Mays.

Mays, former chief of staff to Gov. Sundquist and President Bush's nominee for a federal judgeship, declined comment on the meeting, saying he couldn't ethically disclose the name of the client he represented.

Wendell Moore, who succeeded Mays as Sundquist's chief of staff before resigning last fall, now is working for The Harold Ford Group in Nashville. Moore did not respond to calls for comment. Ford declined comment when asked about Moore.

According to sources, Moore recently contacted state employees on behalf of MIM, inquiring about the business lost when Access MedPlus fold ed.

Ford retired from his Ninth District congressional seat in 1996 after 22 years, but he and his family remain influential.

His son, Harold Ford Jr., succeeded him. He also has siblings on the Memphis City Council and Shelby County Commission. His brother, state Sen. John Ford (D-Memphis), sits on the TennCare Oversight Committee.

TennCare subcontractor Behavioral Health Group paid John Ford $3,000 in consulting fees in 1994 and 1995 in a failed deal with an Access MedPlus subsidiary in Mississippi. BHG also paid consulting fees to Harold Ford, said owner Stephen H. Winters.

The hospital association's Becker said the state could do more to curb consulting and other costs by scrapping MCOs, which may spend up to 13 percent of TennCare revenue on administration, in favor of Administrative Services Only contracts with agencies that just pay medical bills.

TennCare officials say managed care is the efficient method for health care, noting MCOs must spend at least 85 percent of TennCare money on medical care.

Still, legitimate questions remain about whether MCOs like Access MedPlus made proper use of management fees, said the state's TennCare supervisor Manny Martins.

EEOC Says that The City Of Memphis Police Department Has Discriminated Against 7 Black Officers

The U.S.Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has ruled that 7 City of Memphis Police officers who filed a lawsuit against the police department for discrimination have in fact been discriminated against. The officers alleged that the promotional criteria and eligibility ranking for the rank of Lieutenant failed to provide equal promotional opportunities for African Americans,as a class,and discriminated against them because of their race (black).

Evidence obtained by EEOC revealed that promotional opportunities for the rank of Lieutenant became available in January 2005 when a three part promotional test was given to determined eligibility and rankings. After determining that the test had an adverse impact on African Americans,The Memphis Police Department modified the test to correct the problem by utilizing the job knowledge score plus commissioned seniority points and made the decision to promote 94 Sergeants into the rank of Lieutenant in June 2005.

After the promotions were made,a grievance was filed and a arbitrator made a finding,not based on alleged discriminatory actions,that the original three part test should be utilized to make 26 additional promotions. Although the police department knew that the three part test had an adverse impact on Africian Americans the discriminatory criteria were used without any action taken by the police department to prevent the discriminatory activity.The EEOC based on the this analysis has determined that the black officers were harmed as a result of the promotional decision because of their race.

The EEOC is prepared to sue the City of Memphis Police department,if the 7 officers do not receive back pay(with interest) Also the Police department must agree to increase the officers salaries and give them the rank of Lieutenant with seniority being retroactively effective on February 20,2006.

The Police Department must agree to pay the officers $5,000.00 in compensatory damages for non-pecuniary injuries,including emotional distress,mental anguish, and pain and suffering.Nor can the officers be harassed,intimidated or penalized in any future considerations for wage increases,promotions,transfers or other employment matters do to this grievance.

So here we have what seems to be the Federal government telling Director Larry Goodwin that the promotion process is unfair and that the process will not be tolerated. So what will the director do? Will he pay the officers and give them the Lieutenant rank,Or will the citizens have to pay for the discriminatory practices of this police administration?

E.C.Jones Says He May Quit The Council In January

At 3:37 this afternoon my cell phone rung and it was a very irate E.C.Jones on the other end. For the next 73 minutes and 40 seconds, I listen to Jones who was using the word "motherfucker"every third word seem to be upset at both my article and that of the CA,Which he called a "Communist Newspaper" on his leased Cadillac from Bud Davis and the tone it set in the community when it was found that after he received the car he voted in favor of a land proposal of Joe cooper and William H.Thomas.

After listening to Jones curse non-stop for a few minutes,thinking that he must have had a swig of the "shine" I stopped him after he called me "a lieing motherfucker" if I believed and printed what the CA said. At this point the cursing became two way with me telling him "I'm not gone be to many more of your Motherfuckers". At this point he toned down a hair at least not calling me any more names.

I told Jones that I probadly got the same call that the CA got. I went on to tell him that the appearance of having a Cadillac from Bud Davis and then voting for a land zoning proposal brought to the council by Joe Cooper for William Thomas,and then after having so much to say about how Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford should resign and than to take a different approach when it comes time to vote,just didn't look good for him. Jones states that he changed his mind about Voting for the resignations of Ford and Peete because he realized after hearing from Alan Wade the Council's attorney that the vote wouldn't mean anything,and that maybe the city and the council could be sued by them if they were found not to be guilty.

Jones went on to say how he's tired of the shit at City Hall and may resign at the first meeting of the council in January. He stated that he has never been arrested or charged with any crime but has to come to city hall and see Black Ass Yolanda Macfaggdan,After I replied in amazement Black Ass? He stated and white ass Pete Aviotti,both convicted felons who work for the mayor.

Jones says that he wanted a Cadillac,and after seeing an advertisement where he could lease one for $300.00 a month,he went to Bud Davis and leased one. He also states that his vote on the 15 acre land proposal had nothing to do with the Cadillac which he says he pays a note each month to GMAC. He states that he spoke with a representative of the community who stated that the community had no problem with the rezoning.(I wonder if that guy drives a caddy?)

The City Councilman who is in his third term states that "Memphis is going down the tube" he believes that Memphis will never get better only worse. He stated that "Memphis ain't gone get no better no matter whose in office",and that all of us who are fighting for a change are just wasting our time.

Jones age 66,says that he has lived in the same house in Frayser for 38 years,and that he probadly the poorest member of the council. Jones said that he only wanted to be elected because he thought he could make a difference. He believes that the tips about his car came from within the police department,since he has went against police director Larry Goodwin and also because he voted to give the police a raise.

Jones says that the Crime Summit that was held several weeks ago was "just smoking mirrors" And that Goodwin's Blue Crush program is not working.He also believes that the city and county wasted money building a forum for a losing team,he feels that the Grizzlies should have played in the Pyramid for 5 years and then have an arena built for them.

Jones says that from now on he will ask everyone who comes before the council if they're a criminal,because he can't vote for anyone whose a criminal because it may come back to haunt him. He went on to state that since every level of government in this state is corrupt,he's thinking of moving out of Tennessee.

Jones whose retired from the county and Firestone, and has a job said that"he won't miss any bread" by not being on the council. But my statement to a very bitter E.C.Jones is,if you feel that there is no hope for this city,and that it's such a bad place to live,Why wait until January to resign,the council has a meeting this Tuesday turn in your resignation then,and I promise you this community will accept it.

I have written no such poem,Is Jones losing his mind? Until my conversation with him on yesterday I had a lot of respect for him,He appeared on my radio shows many times when no other council member would. He supplied me with information from City Hall on many members of the council and the mayor. But this does not excuse his behavior,If he's done nothing wrong than why is he so upset.

All Children Should Be Treated Equally By The System

We often hear that the majority of crimes committed by youth in Memphis happen to be by black youth. One would think that these judgments are based on stats and records of juveniles going through the system. It would be the only way that such a statement could be made with any validity. But it seems that the reason that we don't hear about the crime and misbehavior of white youth, is because they're being allowed to skip going through the system

A group of Shelby County Commissioners says juvenile offenders in the suburbs are getting better treatment than their urban counterparts. As a result, the commissioners want the federal government to stop funding juvenile court while the government looks into possible civil rights violations.

According to Commissioner Henri Brooks, a member of the group, Shelby County's juvenile court system is racist. "All you have to do is go down to juvenile court and you wonder, 'Are all of the juvenile delinquent acts being committed by African American children? You mean no Caucasian children are committing delinquent juvenile acts?'"

Brooks, along with commissioners Sidney Chism and Deidre Malone, is calling for a federal investigation of the court system. Brooks said it is a response to a recent decision by court administrators to stop allowing Germantown and Bartlett courts to process some first-time juvenile offenders, keeping those suburban kids out of juvenile court."It raises the question to why would you take taxpayer dollars and fund two different, two separate facilities," Brooks said. "We're always found separate to be unequal."

Commissioner Wyatt Bunker says there's no reason for a federal investigation. "It doesn't seem like there would be any problem, as long as the justice system in the city or the county or both are addressing the problem and I certainly don't see how that could be racist," Bunker said. But what Bunker fails to realize is that it's the government that has allowed the problem to exist.

The question should be asked Why has the suburbs with there majority white population been allowed to keep their children out of Juvenile Court while black children are herded through the system.This should be alarming for people of all colors. Isn't it easy to understand now how we always hear of the problems of black kids in Memphis.

There are those who will say that the statements of the commissioners are racist,But isn't it racist to have an unfair system of government? The commissioners have a right to represent the citizens that elected them,The parents of black children.

Thanks to County Commissioners Henri Brooks,and Sidney Chism,The annual Orange Mound Christmas Parade was held. Orange Mound a black community enriched in history that has for years worn pride on there shoulders got a parade permit three months ago. But just 45 minutes before the 10:00 parade was to start organizers got a call from the City of Memphis Police telling them the parade could not go on due to the fact that there would not be enough police available to cover it.

Isn't it strange that a group whose had a parade permit for three months would be told that there parade could not take place just minutes before it was to start? So we're to believe that the police department didn't know yesterday that there would be a problem today with manpower?

It's not often that I give praises to elect officials,But I must applaud the Commissioners for getting involved and making sure that this community was not disappointed. I'm sure that Chism who has a very close relationship with Mayor Willie Herenton,made a call to the mayor telling him what was going on. At this point Willie Herenton most likely gave a call to police director Larry Goodwin,directing him to get the needed manpower to Orange Mound. I'm told after Chism and Brooks got involved it wasn't long before a sea of flashing blue lights were seen make their way to the Mound. And for the mayor directing his director to do the right thing,I say thanks.

A father, who perhaps only gets to spend every other weekend with his children,went over to one of the organizers and told him thanks for making sure that the parade was allowed to take place,because its not all the time that he gets a chance to spend moments like that with his children.......Thanks Orange Mound for caring.

Is City Councilman E.C.Jones As Corrupt as Peete And Ford?

Yesterday I posted a story on Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford not being the only City Councilmen with dirt on there hands. Reading this the CA probadly decided to print there story on E.C Jones today and not wait until Sunday. But Now that the cat is out of the bag lets talk about it.

When the news of Rickey-Re-Peete and Edmund Ford taking money and gifts from Joe Cooper broke two weeks ago,City Councilman E.C. Jones wanted the two to resign from the council. He stated how the city should be able to have trust in the council. But in the special called meeting several days later where the council was to vote on asking the two fellow council members to resign,Jones started to sing a different tune.

Many of us in the Council chamber were surprised, and wondered what had happen to change his mind. Having known E.C. for a while and having talked to him on many occasions I found this odd. E.C. Had always been the one who wanted to keep everyone else honest. In fact he was the councilman I could always call for information about what was really going on on the council.

E.C had a very strange look on his face after he voted to support Peete and Ford, in fact after his vote he left the chambers. I thought to myself something is wrong but could not put my finger on it.

I received a call from a source several days ago whose a friend of a close friend of Jones. The source stated to me that Jones had told this friend that he had never taken money but that he had taken his Cadillac as a gift Hmmmm, isn't there a difference in a gift and a gift? Not being able to confirm the info that time of night I told my source that I would investigate the issue the next morning. So I drove out to Frayser to Jones address,2920 Vista View,got the tag number off the car and started to work.

It seems that Jones supposely leasing a car from Bud Davis Cadillac,and yes his salesman was Joe Cooper. The CA is reporting that Jones is paying $300 per month,boy that's cheap, And is he the one that pays the lease? Maybe Jones just needed a Caddy,and is not another corrupt poli-trick-an. Yeah right.

On July 19, 2005, the council responded to fierce public opposition and voted 11-1 to reject a proposal to rezone 15 acres of agricultural land along Interstate 40 near the Austin Peay exit in Raleigh. Two weeks later, Jones moved to reconsider the move that led the council to reverse its earlier vote.

The rezoning, designed to allow additional billboards along I-40, was pitched by William H. ThomasJr, the developer at the center of criminal charges against Cooper, Ford and Peete, And the person whose business address is used to register Cadillac's from Bud Davis for drug dealers.

Council minutes show that between the first vote and Jones' reconsideration of the Raleigh rezoning, Thomas changed lobbyists, bringing in Cooper. A tape recording shows when the council decided in a split 7-5 vote on Aug. 16, 2005, to overturn the earlier rejection, Cooper said neighbors no longer opposed the project.

Was Cooper brought in because Thomas knew that he had the council in his back pocket? After Jones started to rant about Peete and Ford needing to resign, did he receive a call,reminding him of his "GIFT" and told that he better not cause a problem or his information would go public?

If Peete and Ford are wrong for taking money and casting a vote for William Thomas,So is E.C.Jones. FBI,how about a little equal justice here?

Is Ophelia Corrupt As Well?

I received a call from someone whose familiar with the TENNCARE program who wonder why it was not exposed that Ophelia Ford up until March 3,2005 was receiving TENNCARE benefits. The source stated that theonly reason that Ophelia was disinrolled was because she was preparing to run for state senate and did not want it to be found that she ad committed TENNCARE fraud.

Ford who was employed at both Blue Cross-Blue shield,and at N.J.Ford and Sons funeral home income was to high to be considered for the state funded program that was designed to care for the poor. The TENNCARE program that its alleged that she was a part of was OMNICARE. OMNICARE? isn't that the company that Harold Sr was a lobbyist for? Isn't it also the company that Harold Sr. And former state Rep. Alvin King started? Isn't it also the company that TBI investigated? Isn't this the same company whose parent company name is United American Healthcare of Tn, did was also paying John Ford?


Is it possible that our new state senator committed TENNCARE fraud? The source stated that if the feds wanted proof they could check the records of Dr.Lloyd Robinson and Dr.Marlah Mardis. It's alleged that these were the doctors that were paid through TENNCARE for Ophelia Ford's benefit.

If the information that I received is true,and Ophelia's income did not meet guidelines, she committed fraud. Would Ophelia join in the fraud game,like her brother Emmitt who signed his name as trustee to fraudulently take property from a church?

WILL THIS INFORMATION BE INVESTIGATED OR WILL IT BE SWEPT UNDER THE RUG?

According to TBI agents and federal prosecutors, OmniCare, a health insurance company closely allied with the politically potent Ford family of Memphis, was one of the most scandal-ridden of the 12 managed-care organizations participating in TennCare.

In 1995, TBI agents arrested a Nashville woman who admitted forging more than 140 applications for TennCare while working as an independent contractor for OmniCare. Pamela Renee King said she obtained the data contained on the false applications while working as a fitness consultant in the health center at the sprawling Saturn automobile plant in Spring Hill, Tenn.

TBI investigator Shana Roberts said King was paid between $13 and $17 for each application. As long as the scam went undisclosed, OmniCare received $111 per patient per month for patients who didn't exist or who were fraudulently enrolled in the program.

King was the second OmniCare representative to be caught by TBI agents in 1995. Harold McGhee, a former employee at the Shelby County Corrections Center, admitted to agents he had enrolled 202 inmates that he knew already had medical coverage and were therefore ineligible for TennCare.

Both King and McGhee were convicted of mail fraud and making false statements. Each received a sentence of about a year in prison.

'The Fords had gotten him'
Although he wasn't a company officer or a member of OmniCare's board of directors, former Rep. Harold Ford was publicly identified in 1996 by the Commercial Appeal as being associated with OmniCare. Ford, an African-American, was first elected to Congress in 1974, beating a white incumbent. Ford's district encompassed most of Memphis, which became majority black.

Ford had a rocky political career, and he allied himself and his family with Gore. He was indicted on federal bank, mail-fraud and conspiracy charges in 1987, stemming from $1 million of loans he had received from banks controlled by Democratic politician Jake Butcher and his brother C.H. Butcher. The money was loaned for business purposes, but was allegedly converted to personal use by Ford. His first trial resulted in a hung jury. A second jury acquitted him.

When the House banking scandal broke in 1993, it was revealed that Ford had written 388 bad checks totaling $552,447 at the bank between 1988 and 1991. Although he was one of the worst offenders, a special prosecutor's probe found no criminal wrongdoing on Ford's part.

Ford retired from Congress in 1996 and was succeeded by his son, Harold Ford Jr., a move that angered some local black leaders who resented the Ford family's belief that the congressional seat belonged to them rather than to the people. At the time, Ford Jr. was only 24 years old, the youngest member of Congress. It was Harold Ford, Jr. whom Gore picked to make one of the Democratic convention's keynote addresses.

In addition to Harold Ford Sr.'s older brother, John, a state senator, other Ford brothers who have been actively involved in family politics include: 1) Joe Ford, who ran for mayor of Memphis in 1999; 2) former state Rep. Emmitt Ford, who served time in a federal prison in the late 1990s for failure to file tax returns on income of $700,000; and 3) Dr. James Ford, an ophthalmologist, a member of the Shelby County Commission and a TennCare provider.

A hard-charging young TBI agent, David Loftus, who worked on the Shelby County Corrections Center portion of the OmniCare investigations, told his colleagues he was bound and determined to find out why the Ford family's involvement in OmniCare was not being taken more seriously by the TBI.

"The evidence showed that the Fords were up to their eyeballs in OmniCare and yet nobody was holding their feet to the fire," said Loftus. Even though an assistant U.S. attorney in Memphis warned Loftus to be more discreet "about what he said about the Fords or they will get you," he continued to probe the Ford family's involvement with TennCare.

Loftus had nearly finished his two-year stint as a probationary agent with TBI and had recently received an outstanding evaluation from his supervisor, when suddenly he was summoned to TBI headquarters and was summarily fired. No reason was given.

He was going boating that day with three of his colleagues on a lake near Nashville. The others were laughing and drinking beer when he arrived. They saw his long face and asked him what had happened. "I got fired," Loftus said.

"I knew immediately that the Fords had gotten him," one agent said. "There was no way that Larry Wallace was going to let a rookie agent upset the Fords."

Rickey And Edmund May Not Be The Only Members Of The City Council With Dirt On Their Hands

I have received information from a reliable source that may prove that Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford are not alone on the council when it comes to receiving money and gifts. If this information that I've received pans out and I believe it will,it will explain the behavior recently of this certain council member.

I have the information and will take the next several days to document the allegations I have received about the councilperson.This member of the council has never been accused in the past of being corrupt,but neither had Edmund.But if the information is true we will again see the handy works of Joe Cooper.

If I find the information to be true I will give that councilperson a call to get there side of the story before posting. This councilperson needs to know that a trail has been left,and conversations were made to someone that they trusted whose tired of corrupt poli-trick-ans, telling them what was given,which will be more than what Ford and Peete received all together. COGIC Plans To File Criminal Charges against Doretha Gooden,Emmitt Ford,And William H.Thomas Jr.

Sources Close to Bishop J.O.Patterson Jr, the presiding Prelate of The Tennessee HeadQuarters Jurisdiction Of The Church Of God In Christ,Inc. Is deeply troubled over the very apparent theft of church property. Those sources also state that the corporate counsel Javier Bailey has been instructed to file criminal charges against Doretha Gooden,Emmitt Ford,and William H.Thomas.

Patterson is upset that the property located at 3841 Steve Road was fraudulently transferred out of the name of Fellowship COGIC into the name of Doretha Gooden who falsely posed as Assistant pastor of the church. The Bishop has let it be known that Gooden who did in fact act as secretary to then Pastor James W. Ford,called him everyday for several weeks after Ford's death in 2001,But never revealed the existence of the property.

Patterson is also troubled over the fact that Fellowship is a church with a small membership in a building that needs a lot of work,that had to receive a bank loan of over $40,000.00 to make needed repairs. Had the church known about this property it could have been sold to defray the cost of repairs.

The headquarters Jurisdiction only became aware of this property on Sunday after it was revealed here on this site. Bailey has been instructed to do whatever is needed to return this property back to the ownership of Fellowship. The filing of criminal charges would mean that Thomas,Ford,and Gooden would be arrested on charges of theft of property over $500.00,fraudulent misrepresentation,fraudulent conveyance of real property,and trespassing.

Thomas,Ford and Gooden still face a civil lawsuit where COGIC is asking for $45,000.00 in compensatory damages,and $150,000.00 in punitive damages from each of them. Let there be no doubt Bishop J.O.Patterson Jr.has every intention of having the churches property back.

It Looks like William H.Thomas May Get To Jail Before Rickey Or Edmund

Doretha Don't Get Buried With James

Doretha Clay Gooden who was secretary of Fellowship COGIC,and a alleged love interest of Dr.James Ford now finds herself facing criminal and civil charges for her role in stealing property from The Tennessee Headquarters Jurisdiction Of The Church Of God In Christ.

There is no doubt that Gooden is guilty of fraud,A quit claim deed that she prepared in 2001,bares her signature transferring property at 3481 Steve Road into her name. She also lies about being Assistant Pastor of the church. The document also shows how she conspired with Emmitt Ford brother of James who signed his name as trustee of the church. COGIC official state that Emmitt Ford has never been a trustee and had no authority to sign any document for Fellowship. And the church has no women pastors at all.

Also a quit claim correction deed was filed in January of this year.Both Gooden and Emmitt Ford conspired to steal this parcel of property. Sources close to this matter are saying that Gooden is stating that out of the reported $45,000.00 received from William H. Thomas,she only received only $35,000.00 and that the balance of $15,000.00 went to maintenance of the property. Yeah right.

But what is it that made this woman risk her freedom for a dead man,was it greed or wanting to hold on to something that belong to her lover? Is Doretha Gooden a pawn? Did Emmitt Ford convince her to join him in stealing this property? How much money did she give to Emmitt? What is her relationship to William H.Thomas? Did Thomas convince her to steal the land?

Gooden needs to understand that this matter will not go away,and that COGIC is preparing to press criminal charges against her,alone with suing her in civil court. She could lessen the blow by coming clean about the theft of the property. Gooden needs to tell what she knows,or she will be arrested and charged. Its time to not only bury James but Emmitt and William Thomas as well.

Ed Where's The Loan Agreement?

City Councilman Edmund Ford says that $40,000 he received from developer Jackie Welch in 2004 was a loan. In fact Ford says that the loan was to open E.H. Ford Mortuary last year. Maybe Ed has his dates confused,but he has been at the 3390 Elvis Presley location over two years. I'm sure of this because I was working with him at the time,and was advertising the location on my last radio talk show in 2004.

In 2004 around the time Ford received the loan from Welch,he voted in favor of a residential and commercial development that was being pushed by Welch. But Ford sees nothing wrong with taking the money from the developer.Ford says that he has a right to have friends,and that he has done nothing wrong.

But in face of his corruption charges,the loan does not look good. The fact of the land vote during the time that he received the loan gives the appearance of a payoff. In light of his bad credit which the CA reported in there paper It would seem hard for someone to loan him $40,000.00. What did he use for collateral? Where is the loan agreement? Ed could produce this paperwork and remove this cloud from over his head.

Another point is why would Welch want to lend Ford $40,000.00? Is the "loan" interest free? Did Welch bribe Ford for his vote? If so who else on the council received a "loan"? Why won't either Welch or Ford produce the loan agreement,could it be because it doesn't exist? Having financial problems doesn't mean that Edmund is a crook,But he's sure Not making it easy to believe him.

If Edmund has in fact taken a bribe from Welch,And another from Joe Cooper he deserves to go to jail for violating the trust of the community. If he's innocent and has nothing to hide then he should produce the loan agreement,and proof that in fact he's paying Welch $2,000.00 a month. If not its going to be real hard to believe that the $40,000.00 was not a payoff.

Is Chris Thomas Covering For the Fords

While this political web of corruption seems to be growing and white developers are getting caught in the snare,Isn't it strange that after 4 monthsAnnita Hamilton decides to file suit against myself and Sondra Becton about her public information being posted on this site?

Hamilton is a black woman that Probate Court Clerk Chris Thomas used to give the appearance that he had a concern for blacks while running for re-election. Thomas produced a campaign flier that went solely to black communities showing him and Hamilton in a picture with his arms around her. In that flier he states that Hamilton was the highest ranking black woman in an appointed position in Shelby County Government.

That information was totally incorrect, that title belongs to a female black by the name of Cheyenne Johnson. But Thomas knowing that many in the black community are not politically informed,thought that by saying that he promoted a black woman to the top rank,that this would make him a hero among blacks and get him there votes. Thomas who was running against Sondra Becton also a black female needed an edge in the black community in a race where a heavy black democratic turnout was expected.

Not only did I prove him to be a liar, but a white man that will use blacks for his own political gain. The posting of Hamilton's employee profile alone with her social security number which I blacked out the last four numbers is public information, So I await going to court,but it will not take place in Shelby County,My attorney Javier Bailey will seek a change of venue.

But let's get to what this is really all about. Chris Thomas is being used to distract me from continuing to dig into the role that some of his fellow republican friends have played in this game of political corruption. The high price lawyer being used is to file the suit is David Caywood an attorney that I attacked 4 months ago who joined in with Richard "I Like My Booty Played With" Fields to attack black lawyers who were running for judicial positions. In there negative attacks that made no mention of white judges who had been charges with numerous counts of sexual harassment charges. Neither when speaking of credit concerns of blacks did they mention the bankruptcy of a white candidate that went on to win.

Is it possible that James Ford in his will left the Steve Road property to Doretha Gooden, And Thomas as clerk knew what was in the will? Is it possible that Thomas has a connection to William H.Thomas Jr? Is it possible that Thomas has a connection to Jackie Welch and Steve Cooper? Hmmmmmm, I wonder what his campaign disclosures will show,I'll know by the end of the day.

By the way Chris why hasn't the will of N.J.Ford ever been probated? Why didn't James Ford Jr receive anything from his father's estate? If the will of N.J. Ford has never been probated how does Harold Ford Sr have controlling interest of the funeral home and how did he sell the business to a white owned funeral home conglomerate? Chris this will do for starters, But I promise you there's more to come.

P.S. The will of James Ford went to probate court,COGIC was represented to maintain the interest of Fellowship COGIC,but there was no mention of the Steve Road property in the will. Since the Ford family was under the impression that everything that Fellowship had was James Ford's Did the real owners of the property work through the Probate Court Clerk's office and the Fords to hide that little fact?

COGIC Sues William H.Thomas,Doretha Gooden,And Emmitt Ford For $345,000.00

On Tuesday corporate counsel of record for The Tennessee Headquarters Jurisdiction Of The Church Of God In Christ,Inc, Javier Bailey filed a lawsuit on behalf of the organization against Emmitt Ford Sr,Doretha Gooden And William H. Thomas Jr. To ask the Chancery Court to return the property located at 3481 Steve Road back to Fellowship COGIC.

The suit finds that Thomas,Gooden,and Ford intentionally committed fraud, it charges them with fraudulent misrepresentations,fraudulent conveyance and conversion of real property and trespass in transferring the property out of the name of the church. The suits also ask for $45,000.00 in compensatory damages and $150,000.00 from each of the three.

The facts of the case will show that in 1997 the stated property was quit deeded to Fellowship COGIC as a gift from Daled Preferred Properties L.L.C. a Baltimore Maryland Limited Liability Company. At the time that the property was given to the church,Dr.James Ford was the pastor of Fellowship COGIC. His authority to Pastor the church was granted and licensed by the headquarters jurisdiction located here in Memphis,and as part of the church polity the church exists by and through its jurisdictional authority.

The church property was held in the name of the church until the death of Ford in November of 2001,where after in December of 2001 Doretha Gooden posing as Assistant pastor fraudulently quit deeded the property of the church into her name. At no time has Gooden ever been an Assistant Pastor of Fellowship or any other church under the umbrella of COGIC. Also at no time was Emmitt Ford a trustee of the church,nor has he been vested with any authority to act on behalf of the Headquarters jurisdiction.

It is also the position of the church that William H. Thomas knew that the property was being transferred by fraudulent means. Gooden who just purchased a new home in cordova for $153,000.00 could very well soon have that home attached if she does not do the right thing and tell how she came to prepare a fraudulent document giving her property that she knew she had no power to transfer. As For Emmitt he's been to prison twice for fraud,so its in his best interest to give up the mastermind of the plot are spend the rest of his days in prison. William H. On yesterday I urged Doretha Clay Gooden to start singing. I urged her to tell exactly what happen in her signing over church property to herself. I wanted to know if the $45,000.00 William H.Thomas paid for the Steve Road property that is the center of a political corruption case went to her or Emmitt Ford.

Today she reached out to sources within COGIC locally and nationally expressing her desire not to be sued,which as of now is to late. This Is Not The First Time The Ford's Have Stolen Church Property

The fraud committed by Emmitt Ford alone with Doretha Gooden in taking land away from Fellowship COGIC is not the first time the Fords have stolen from the church. After serving as an assistant pastor to Rev. Al Green for several years,James Ford decided to start his own church.

Ford started the church in the main chapel of N.J.Ford and Sons Funeral Home. After being there for a period of time James purchased the old St.Thomas Catholic Church building in South Memphis at Trigg and Lauderdale. James became a elder In COGIC,which meant that after being ordained into the church he had to follow the rules of the church which meant that the building and all its contents and any other property in the churches name that he had purchased became the property of the headquarters jurisdiction of COGIC here in Memphis where J.O.patterson Jr. Served as Prelate.

Upon the death of James Ford in November of 2001, Ophelia Ford and other members of the family stripped the church of all the musical equipment, the P.A.System,and anything else that was not nailed down. Ophelia who tesified in Probate court told the judge that her brother had purchased everything that had been taken,was ordered to return all property that had been taken stating that anything that Ford had purchased for the church was a gift,and was now the property of COGIC. She was so concerned about her brother, but yet didn't want his son James ford Jr. To receive anything including his father's home.

Is Jackie Welch A Player?

Developer Jackie Welch's name appears on many political campaign finance disclosures, giving to democrats and republicans. Welch who is also in the real estate business has business connections with William H. Thomas and Joe Cooper. In fact as reported here first on last week,Welch is presently suing both Cooper and Thomas for welching on a deal with him.

But here's something else to look at. Could Jackie Welch be also connected to the plot to give James Ford property in the name of Fellowship COGIC for the purpose of getting it rezoned? Could Welch also be a player in the game of political corruption?
We know that the now infamous parcel of land on Steve Road who COGIC says rightfully belongs to them, was never suppose to remain the property of James ford because according to the deed Ford had to ability to do anything with it. In fact the deed states that:

The grantor(Daled Preferred Properties) retains the rights set forth below in the subject property and the grantee(Ford and Fellowship COGIC) agrees to assist the grantor in exercising the rights herein reserved.Including without limitation assisting the grantor in obtaining the necessary zoning to build and maintain a billboard as hereinafter provided. If you don't understand that Ford is being told we're placing this property in your churches name,but it's not really yours,you're just to help us get the property zoned commercial.but while its in your churches name we want have to pay taxes.

This deed is where the political corruption starts,a plan to use a poli-trick-an to get a piece of property rezoned. Are we to believe that James Ford didn't receive pay for placing the property in his churches name? And he messed up there plan by dying with the property still in the churches name.

Now how do I place Jackie Welch in the middle of all of this,I;m glad you asked. When the document giving the property to Fellowship COGIC from Daled Preferred Properties,it was prepared by Nashoba Escrow Company,at that time a part of Nashoba bank in Germantown. Who was the board director at the time that would have had to okay the land deal? Jackie Welch.

Welch who presently is on the board of First Source bank,has for a CEO Kent Davis a guy who for 19 years was with Union Planters Bank. Union Planters Bank of Mississippi sold the land to Daled Preferred Properties. Davis was a senior retail loan Officer for Union Planters. First Source is involved in the deal that went sour between Welch and Thomas.

So is it possible that Welch as a developer got with others in the billboard business and purchased this parcel of land along I-240 knowing that this property would make a great site for a billboard,thinking that the property because of other businesses in the area was commercial? But than found out that it was zoned residential needed a way to get the property re-zoned and at the same time not have to pay taxes while they waited?

So you find yourself a poli-trick-an (James Ford) that's deep in debt, cut a deal with him to help get the property rezoned. Now even though that Poli-trick-an is on the County Commission you know that he has a brother on the City Council (Joe Ford) that can assist. That poli-trick-an goes to the brother on the council,but that brother refuses to get involved,maybe because he's honest or just not hardup for money. Seeing that that brother is making $10,000.00 amonth running the family business.

But all the brothers know about the deal,but no one's in a position to help. So the brother(James) is being pressured to do something or give the land and the money that has been paid to him back. The brother is pastor of a church and tells those who want his political influence that if the property is placed in the churches name they won't have to pay taxes on it while he's getting the zoning done.

But he dies, now another brother (Emmitt) knows about the land and trys to figure out away to get paid and cut the developers out of the deal. So he gets a woman that had a love interest in James (Doretha) to lie as though she was the assistant pastor of the church and has her to prepare a quit claim deed and take the property out of the churches name and place it in hers. Emmitt knows that if he does not get the property out of the name of the church COGIC would find out and keep the land.

Since the Fords knew Joe Cooper Emmitt calls him and ask him to find someone to buy the land, Cooper contacts William H. Thomas Jr. Who makes a deal with Doretha and Emmitt to buy the land if they can get Edmund to assist with the re-zoning problem. They contact Edmund and tell him about the plan. Edmund also has money problem,so he wants to know what's in it for him. An arrangement is made, but Edmund can't do it alone so he calls Rickey Re-Peete to help and the rest is history.

This game of political corruption is much bigger than Peete and Edmund Ford. It reaches into the back rooms of major political players black and white. Welch may or may not be a player and the plot that I presented may or may not be true,but one thing is for sure When this game of political corruption comes to a end, all the players will not be black.

County Probate Clerk Chris Thomas Uses A Woman To Fight His Battle

This afternoon I received a call from Michael Erskine a reporter from the CA,I thought he was calling to find out what I was posting tonight so that the CA would have a front page story tomorrow morning,like they did Monday morning when they had two stories on there front page that I broke last week. But that was not the reason for his call.

Mike asked if I had heard about the lawsuit that Annita Hamilton had filed suing me and Sondra Becton for $1,000,000.00 each. After taking a moment to remember who Hamilton was,I stated that I had not. Apparently Hamilton a kiss ass crony of Probate Court clerk Chris Thomas decided months after the election that she was damaged by her employee information appeared on this site alone with her social security number,which all is public information.

Hamilton's lawsuit is the product of the rage of Chris Thomas who was angered over the fact that Becton ran against him and the fact that I proved that he is a bald face liar. Thomas produced a campaign flier where he was pictured with his arms around Hamilton,I guess this was to make blacks think that he loved them,since this flier was only seen in the black community.

Also on the flier he stated that Hamilton was the highest ranking black female in County government.This was to also make the black community think that he had promoted a black female to the highest position in a clerk's office. But it was all a lie, a plot by a white poli-trick-an to fool blacks into voting for him. I received from an anonymous source her employee profile which showed that the position he stated she held,he lied about on his campaign flier.

This information I received was public information,even her social security number on the public document is public information. Since I have no desire to make her entire number known I blacked out the last four numbers with a marker. Someone from his office posted that if you enlarged the number 200% you could see the number. Now who in there right mind would want to enlarge the number, and why did that person enlarge it?

I have yet to see the lawsuit, but I heard that she wants a judge to tell me to remove the story from the archives. What is it that Chris Thomas Fears, that every one will know that he's a liar who who use the black community for his own selfish gain. Thomas is a coward whose using a woman to do what he does not have the balls to do himself. Thomas don't be a punk if you've got something to say to me, say it yourself.

There is no law that states that knowing one's social security number is against the law. The fact that she states that the appearance of her social would set her up for ID theft is also foolish. There are numerous data base,some of which I use on a daily basis in the repo business that will not only provide her social, but her entire family's.

the attorney being used to file this lawsuit is David Caywood a close friend of Richard "I like My booty played with" Fields,who alone with Fields attacked black judicial candidates earliar this year. I attacked the two for only printing negative information about blacks running for judgeships and leaving out negative information about several whites running for those very same post. I also attacked "Richie" for having sex with a minor who in a police report stated that he liked his booty played with,with a dildo. Maybe he's using his friend to fight his battle. I saw him last week in City Hall and he didn't say anything.I wonder why.

My attorney Javier Bailey states that he will not allow the setup that Thomas and Fields are planning in a Circuit Courtroom with a judge named Fields.Also since Hamilton is a Shelby County employee who works in the court system we will seek a change of venue,to seek a fair hearing.

Sharon Webb Wins School Board Race.

Even though it's not official as of this moment,Sharon Webb will win the district 6 school board position presently held by long time board member Carl Johnson. Its no secret that I did not support Webb,due to the fact that she led the community to believe that her degrees are the real thing. Webb received a B.A.,M.A.,and two doctorate degrees in a span of four years from an uncredited university.

But even so the people spoke and refused to send Johnson back to the board. It was time for fresh blood and new ideas I just did not like the fact that Webb played politics. As a democrat she sought the trade off of her support for Mark White in his bid for Congress,for the endorsement of the republican party for her bid for the Charter Commission.

It was time for Johnson who has spent the last 35 years on the board to find something new to do,But he still must be thanked for rendering service in a position that governs the most precious commodity that this community has,Our children.

Is Edmund Really Corrupt Or Just Misunderstood?

Now that it's been revealed that the Steve Road property that Has Edmund Ford facing criminal corruption charges once belong to his brother James,Do you think that he was part of a Ford family conspiracy? Edmund states that he had no idea that the property once was in the name of Fellowship COGIC.Which was pastored by his brother James before his death in 2001.

William H. Thomas is the present owner of the property,but that may change if COGIC has its way. A lawsuit will be filed tomorrow morning by Javier Bailey who represents COGIC to retain the land that was fraudently sold by Doretha Gooden,who according to sources state was planning to marry James Ford prior to his death. The fraudenlent document was also signed by Emmitt Ford also a brother of Edmund.

Doretha Clay Gooden prepared a quit deed claim giving herself property that did not belong to her. In fact in giving herself that property she stated on the document that she was the secretary and assistant pastor of Fellowship COGIC, the owners of the now infamous property that has Rickey Re-peete and Edmund Ford facing criminal charges of political corruption.

In December of 2001, a month after James Ford who pastored Fellowship died. Doretha prepared the document giving herself the parcel of land on Steve Road,knowing that she was not the assistant pastor. COGIC does not have women pastors in its organization. Signing representing himself as the trustee of the church was Emmitt Ford,who in 1981 was convicted of insurance fraud. According to COGIC Ford is not a trustee of Fellowship and had no right to sign not only once but twice.

But is Doretha the real culprit? Surely she knew that signing the document under false pretenses was illegal,but when she sold the property to William H.Thomas Jr in 2005 for $45,000.00 did she get the money,or did Emmitt Ford receive it? Was Joe Cooper a part of the deal? Or did she just steal the property on her own?

Doretha who was featured in Sunday'S CA in the Real estate section could very well be facing criminal charges alone Emmitt Ford. Speaking with Javier Bailey this evening who is the counsel for Fellowship COGIC and the headquarters jurisdiction of COGIC, he has been instructed to do what is needed to retain the property of the church no matter who has to go to jail.

So Doretha save yourself and tell what really happened,Tell who had you fraudently sign the quit claim deed, and where the $45,000.00 went. You need to be the first one to sing. Cause he who sings first gets the best deal. In case Doretha you need some singing lessons,Why not get them from Aretha. COGIC Plans To Sue William H.Thomas,Doretha Gooden,And Emmitt Ford For Theft Of Property

In a story that was first reported here on Saturday,The property on Steve Road that has led to criminal complaint charges being filed against City council members Rickey Re-Peete and Edmund Ford,was once owned by the church that Ford's brother James,pastored before his death in 2001.

The transfers of this property after his death were fraudently done. The property was not just property that belonged to Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. But to COGIC International. Doretha Gooden who has ties to the Ford family prepared a quit claim deed herself in December of 2001 a month after Ford's death. She stated on that document that she was assistant pastor and secretary of the church.

In COGIC there are no women pastors. Emmitt Ford also a brother of Edmund signed the deed not only in 2001 as a church trustee, but in January of this year on a quit claim correction deed. According to COGIC officials Emmitt Ford is not a trustee. And even as a trustee the only person that has power over church property is the Bishop. After my story was posted on Saturday I was contacted by counsel for not only Fellowship,but the headquarters jurisdiction of COGIC,Javier Bailey.

Bailey explained to me that at the time of the death of James Ford,under the by-laws of COGIC that Bishop J.O.Patterson Jr, being the presiding Bishop over the headquarters jurisdiction became the pastor of Fellowship until he as Bishop appointed a new pastor. Bailey stated until he read my article COGIC was not aware that the property had belong to the organization.

Bailey has been given the go ahead to file suit to return the property to COGIC. Speaking with Bailey this morning a lawsuit will be filed in Chancery court against William H.Thomas Jr, Doretha Clay Gooden,and Emmitt Ford, for Theft of property and for the fraudulent transfer of property belonging to COGIC.

Emmitt Ford and Doretha Gooden Fraudently Sells Land To William H.Thomas Jr.

The headquarters jurisdiction of The Church Of God In Christ has instructed Attorney Javier Bailey counsel for the church,to check into church property that was Quit deeded to Doretha Gooden without the authorization of the church. It seems that Emmitt Ford committed fraud when he represented himself as a trustee of Fellowship C.O.G.I.C.

At the death of James Ford the pastor of Fellowship,the property was then under the jurisdiction of Bishop J.O.Patterson Jr,Bishop of the headquarters jurisdiction. Under the bylaws of the C.O.G.I.C. Patterson becomes pastor until he appoints someone for the position. Bailey states that Emmitt Ford had no authority to do away with church property,and no trustee has authority to act with the express authority of the pastor or Bishop.

In January of this year when Emmitt Ford again signed as a trustee of Fellowship, on a quit claim correction deed he fraudently did so,because according to Bailey who again represents the church states that Emmitt Ford has no connection to the church.

Also on the quit claim deed The property is given to Doretha Clay Wooden who prepared the claim herself,stating that she was the assistant pastor of the church. That's really odd when according to the laws of the church that govern,there are no women preachers in the C.O.G.I.C. thus again fraud has been committed.

Bailey has been instructed by Bishop Patterson to take whatever legal actions needed to recover the property of Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. Until the printing of this article The church was not aware of the ownership or the sell of the property that was sold for $45,000.00 to William H.Thomas.

With the signing of the quit claim deed by Doretha Gooden who was featured today in the real estate section of the CA,and Emmitt Ford,a willful act to defraud took place. Bailey states that he will be going to court to recover the property for Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. on the premise that those who sold the property had no legal right to do so.

The land in question is the parcel of land that has Rickey Re-Peete and Edmund Ford facing corruption charges. It seems that Edmund voted on land that was once owned by one brother,and another brother who fraudently sold it to a person who fraudently signed a quit claim deed that she prepared herself. Seems like they might have to build a Ford annex at the federal pen.

Could the current political corruption uproar here in Memphis that involves City councilmen Ricky Re-Peete,and Edmund Ford about a parcel of property on Steve road near I-240,have started in 1997 with James Ford a deceased County Commissioner,former City Councilman, and brother to Edmund? Could Edmund's involvement be to carry out the plan of his brother? I think so, So allow me to lay out why I think that this may be what happened.

According to records in the Shelby County Trustee's office and the County Registar's office,the property on Steve Road was sold in 1996 to Daled Preferred Properties,L.L.C of Baltimore Maryland,by Union Planters Bank of Mississippi,for $23,394.80.

In November of 1997,the property was not sold but quit deeded to The Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. pastored by James Ford for $10.00. James Ford at that time was a member of the County Commission.What I find most strange about the quit claim is what could be done with the property. One would think that if this property which was zoned residential was the truly the property of James Ford and his church,that they could do as they please with the land.

But this was not the case,there was a provision in the deed that did not allow for anything being done with the property but the building of billboards. Thats right it seems that the only reason that the property was deeded over to James Ford and his Church ,was for Ford to somehow get the property rezoned for commercial use,so that Daled Preferred Properties could build a billboard. Are we to believe that James Ford was doing this without cost? How did Preferred think that James Ford was going to get the property rezoned? Was James Ford to use his brother Joseph Ford who at the time was on the council,or did James tell them that he knew how to get what they wanted? What we have here is a scheme to use a public figure to obtain a rezoning provision for a company's gain. And it appears that James ford was willing to play alone.

So why place the property in the name of the church, couldn't James Ford do there bidding without the property being in the name of the church? Of course he could,but with the property in the name of the church while the process of rezoning was taking place Daled Preferred Properties wouldn't have to pay taxes. If what I'm proposing happen truly happened, Do you think that James was paid a fee for saving the company tax fees?

Daled Preferred Properties,whose main office is in Baltimore Maryland,is registered as a corporation in Tennessee with attorney F.Guthrie Castle of Memphis as the registered agent. Guthrie is a banking and investment attorney. Seems as though he and William H.Thomas Jr,the owner of Thomas Investments,and present owner of the Steve road property have a lot in common.

In November of 2001 James Ford dies,without getting the property rezoned. But Daled Preferred properties can't do anything about the deed or the property because the property is in the name of a dead man. So now they have to figure out what to do to get there property back and get it zoned commercial.

So what do they do? On December 30,2001 another quit claim deed is filed,taking the property out of the name of the church and placed in the name of Doretha Clay Gooden. Doretha who some say was a love interest of Ford listed herself on the deed as the secretary and assistant pastor of Fellowship. With James ford being dead I,m sure you're wondering who signed the property into her hands,well it was Emmitt Ford,the churches Trustee,so he said.

Four years later Doretha Gooden sells the property to William H. House Jr. For $45,000.00. By the time this property is sold to house we know that there's a business relationship with Thomas and Alleged FBI informant Joe cooper. We know that the business address of Thomas is being used as registration for a murderer and drug dealer to register his car. We know that the cars were sold by Joe Cooper. We also know that by this time Jackie Welch a local realty company owner is suing both Cooper and Thomas for welching on a land business deal,

With the relationship that was between Joe Cooper and Ed ford there is no way that I will believe that Edmund did not know that the property that he was going to vote on was once owned by his brother. Are we to think that a guy whose nice enough to provide Edmund with transportation,and money to pay his bills wouldn't tell him that his brother was a part of a conspiracy and they needed his help. So when Ed states that he does not know William Thomas do you believe him? In fact Edmund should not have voted on this issue,because of the conflict of interest,

Also there is no way that William H.Thomas or Joe Cooper can claim that they did not know the property had been in the name of Fellowship. I'm sure they did a property search to check who the owner were an if any liens were on the property, Thus William Thomas and Joe Cooper knew now how to get there property rezoned. The brother of James and Emmitt,Edmund. Here's how I imagine that it was done.

They knew that Edmund was having financial problems,So they told him about his brother James and Emmitt's involvement in there scheme,and how they had been paid off,and how he could make some quick money. They told him that the property needed to be rezoned to a commercial status,and that they needed the city council's approval.

Ed knew that he could not pull this off by himself, he knew that he didn't have the clout on the council to get the required votes. This is where Rickey Peete comes in. Rickey is known as the deal maker, he's often bragged about how if you want anything done come to him. So Edmund went to Rickey who was the chair of the Planning and Development committee, After hearing what Ed needs to happen,Rickey tells him he can get it done for a price. The two agree on a price and the rest is history.

Another strange factor about this case is the fact that on January 4,2006 a correction quit deed claim was filed to correct the legal description and the notary acknowledgment on the quit claim deed of record. It's signed again by Emmitt Ford Trustee of Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. What's odd is that in January of 2006 this church that is now pastored by Elder L.T.Frye Jr from my sources within the church state that Emmitt Ford is not a trustee of that church.

Emmitt Ford signs a document under oath stating that he was a trustee and had the right to sign his name as a representative of fellow ship. If the facts are true concerning Emmitt signing in behalf of the church when he's not a trustee whose been given the authority by the current pastor he has committed a crime.

So when we look at this political corruption case,do we need to look beyond City Hall to the grave? i believe that there are many players in this game. We will find that other council members who changed their vote are also involved. I had hoped for the best with Edmund but after loking at this information I can not believe that he did not know what was going on.

I can not believe that Emmitt also didn't inform edmund as to what was going on with this property. After the death of James the only Ford that they could use to make the zoning happen was Edmund. The feds need to ask Doretha Gooden where did the $45,000.00 that she was paid for the property go,And how she made contact with William H.Thomas. William thomas should be made to produce the check he used to buy the property from Gooden,or did he pay in cash?

Ed Shut Up And Get An Attorney

Ed Ford admitted in the CA that he took money from Joe Cooper.This was very foolish for Ford to make this admission by way of the morning publication. Ford states that he acquired a loan from Cooper. I hope for his sake he has a contract between himself and Cooper.

Ford also stated that he has no layer,what is he waiting for? This case will not just go away. Ed get a lawyer and let him or her do your talking. But don't give another interview where your statements can come back to haunt you.

No Wonder Barbara Was Crying

Maybe Barbara Swearingan Holt had a reason to cry on Tuesday. It seems that the feds want to talk with her and fellow council member Dedrick Brittenum. The two council membere received subpoenas at City Hall today. The Feds could want to talk to them concerning Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford,or something totally different. But they better tell the truth the feds never ask a question that they don't already have the answer to.

Rickey Peete is known downtown as the "Godfather" he has been heard to brag about the fact that he's the one to come to if you need a deal done. His Ego is as wide as the Grand Canyon. Rickey has duped many into thinking that he's untouchable when it comes to being defeated in an election. In fact several years ago when he was running he stated that he would be councilman as long as he wanted because he knew how the black community thinks.

But his days of being on top of the world may soon be coming to an end. If convicted a second time for political corruption he could spend as much as 10 years in prison. This time around he would probadly be sent to a maximum security prison since he didn't learn his lesson the first time.

So what do you think of "Re-Peete" should he get a third chance? Should he be removed from the Beale street Association as it's director? It appears that William H. Thomas the man behind the alleged payoffs of Rickey Peete And Edmund Ford, And Joe Cooper, have worked on other projects where Cooper stuck a knife in the back of someone who trusted him. It also appears that Cooper has also bragged in the past of being able to get property rezoned to satisfy himself and Thomas.

A poster to this blog brought to my attention a lawsuit that was filed that proves this to be true. In Chancery Court case# CH-06-1229-1, tells a tale of lies,deceit,backstabbing, and depriving one of money earned for services rendered. And it all takes place by the hands of Joe cooper and William H.Thomas Jr.

About March,2005 Joe Cooper approached Waymon"Jackie" Welch owner of Welch Realty Company whose name will appear on most political campaign financial disclosures,about the possibility of Welch Realty procuring First Source Partners and First Capital Bank to purchase two adjacent lots at 867 Reddoch here in Memphis.

First Source operates First capital a TN. Corporation in the business of banking.Cooper proposed that the two lots would provide a prime location for a bank branch.Cooper further stated that although the lots were at the time zoned residential he believed he could successfully secure the rezoning of the lots as commercial properties.(How Do You Think He Was Going To Do That?) The lots were also subject to the Arlington Park Protective Covenants,which further precluded the erection of a commercial property on the lots. Cooper assured Welch that he could get the covenants amended.

On or about March23,2005,Welch agreed to procure First Source as a purchaser for the lots. In exchange,Cooper and Welch agreed that Welch would be paid a 6% commission for procuring First Source Partners as a purchaser. Welch and Cooper executed a sales contract for the two lots for $900,000. The seller in the two lot agreement is identified as "Joe Cooper" and or his assigns.

The two lot agreement sealed the Commission Agreement as follows: Seller agrees to pay Welch Realty Company a commission of 6% of the sale price. Unless otherwise specified herein such commission shall be paid in cash out of the net proceeds of the sale at time of closing this transaction.

The contract came with provisions such as the seller obtaining approval of the majority of the homeowners in Arlington Park Subdivision for an amendment of it's convenants. It also stated that the seller would obtain zoning for a full service bank,with double drive-through.

At the time the two lot agreement was signed,Coope did not own the lots, but had the property under a contract that would allow him to purchase the property for $500,000.00. Cooper did not have the money to purchase the lots,Nevertheless with a commitment from First Source Captial to pay $900,000,00 for the lots,Cooper was able to secure a source for the acquisition and sale of the lots. The source was William H.Thomas.

Get ready for the knife. Cooper and Thomas ultimately were able to secure only one of the lots. Cooper again approached Welch Realty assuring Welch that the bank could successfully operate the planned bank branch on the one lot. Welch as broker ensured that First Source/First Capital remained ready,willing,and able to perform on the same terms as the two lot agreement,except for the fact that the second lot would no longer be apart of the deal,and there would be a corresponding reduction of $100,000.00. Welch prepared and delivered to Cooper an agreement(The One Lot Agreement) indentical to the two lot agreement including the 6% commission provision agreement.

Subsequently,Cooper approached Kent Davis the president of First capital with a written agreement for the sale of the lot (The Cooper-First Capital Agreement). Cooper assured Davis that his agreement contained the same terms as the One Lot agreement. Neither Welch or his company was a party to the Cooper-First Capital Agreement. In his agreement Cooper fail to memorialize Cooper's agreement to pay the 6% commission to Welch or Welch Realty.

William Thomas sold the lot to First capital on April,2006, At closing Welch got welched. He didn't get one red cent from Cooper or Thomas. So Welch is presently suing Both Thomas and Joe Cooper. This serves to prove that Cooper and Thomas have worked together in the past and cheated those that they were doing business with, So do we have a repeat performance with Cooper and his purchasing the influence of council members?

The rezoning of the property did take place as Cooper wanted,even the closing of a street despite the outcry from those who lived in the area. Did Cooper for Thomas purchase votes for this project? I found it strange today when I visited city hall to find out about this project,that the file was already in the hands of Alan Wade the Council's attorney. There is something mighty fishy about what going on in City hall when it comes to William H.Thomas. I still must ask If Rickey and Edmund are guilty of selling influence to Cooper and Thomas,Isn't Thomas guilty of trying to buy their influence?

In My Visit with Ed Ford He Says He's Done Nothing Wrong

As I have stated I've known Edmund Ford a long time,In fact he's the only Ford that I consider a friend. I know Ed as a man that that loves his wife and kids,and has struggled to make a life for them. When his brothers turned their backs on him after the death of their father and ousted him from the family business because Harold said that the funeral home belongs to him,and Ed resisted.

Ed Ford couldn't get a job anywhere to feed his family,so he delivered pizzas and sold pictures for Olan Mills to make ends meet. So knowing this about him I have found it hard to believe that he would destroy his family and what he's been able to accomplish in the last 12 years with his own funeral home.

So I decided to go by the funeral home today to ask him point blank did he take any money from Joe Cooper. He was standing in the lobby of his business as I walked in,he greeted me the way he always does "Hey brother Thaddeus" after chatting briefly with some of the guys who work there I told Ed that I need to talk with him. We went into his office he sat behind his desk and I took a seat beside the desk.

I stated to him that I was not there in the reporter mode but as a friend. Some of what we discussed is off the record and will not be revealed here. But he did state to me looking me straight in the eye that he was innocent and had not taken any money from Joe Cooper for a vote.

I asked about the tape that the FBI says that they have,and he stated that no tape will show him taking money from Cooper in exchange for his influence. The complaint also states that Cooper helped secure a loan for Ford for the funeral home, I guess hit was suppose to be to finish work that Ed needed done at the facility. I walked around the building that I witness open,and saw nothing new.Having not being in the building in months and reading that Cooper had supplied Ford with money for the building I expected to see something new.

The building and the furnishing were as I remembered it. We walked around to where Ed has been building a chapel for months as he got the money,and it was further alone than last I was in the building but not finish. And if Ed had the money the pride and joy of any funeral home, the chapel would be finish. So I'm doubtful that Cooper secured a loan.Maybe he got some money in the name of a loan and kept it for himself.

Even though Edmund Ford is my friend I will jump him like I jump anyone else. If he's violated the trust of the people who placed him in office I feel that he should go to prison. I still think that he should step down while he clears his name,But he feels that he has done nothing to be ashamed of,and that he will not hide from the people. He also states that he is not worried about what the FBI says that they have because he's innocent.

I asked him about the outburst in the council meeting on Tuesday,He stated that the news didn't show what was being said prior to his outburst. A issue came up with the name Bill Thomas being used,since many whose name is William is called Bill he wanted to know if the person that the council was about to deal with was the person named in his complaint,and no one was making that factor clear. In pulling some paperwork today from City Hall in reference to William Thomas,he is called Bill Thomas in all of the references to him.

I will continue to dig into this matter,and I will let the chips fall where they may. If the tapes that the FBI have show my friend clearly selling his influence for $6,900 I will jump on him with both feet, with no mercy like I did with his nephew Jake Ford,Not for just selling his vote,but for lying to me. He's my friend but if my friend is wrong than my friend needs to join another friend by the name of Roscoe Dixon.

Is Joe Cooper The Best That The FBI Has?

Joe Cooper has spent time in prison,consorts with drug dealers,provides cars for drug dealers,and according to the DEA was looking to recruit someone to help a local drug dealer smuggle drugs into Memphis from Mexico. Cooper also helped arrange the bail money for a drug dealer who is alleged to have murdered two people. Is Joe Cooper really suppose to be taken seriously?

Is Joe Cooper the witness that the FBI wants us to believe would tell the truth? It appears that Cooper is involved in a major drug ring bringing in drugs from Mexico,So why would a jury convict anyone based on what he says? Wouldn't Joe Cooper tell any lie that he thought someone would believe if it would save his sorry ass?

Let's see the tapes,When the FBI thought they had a good case against Roscoe Dixon And John Ford everytime we turned on the TV we saw John stuffing his pockets with money,and heard Roscoe saying "Hand me one of those stacks over there". If Joe Cooper is the best that the FBI has their case is in trouble.

Barbara Stop Crying And Start Serving

Evangelist,Councilwoman,preacher Barbara Holt I'm finding that many people in your district are crying to. Crying because you are still on the council. But from what I'm hearing there are those who are looking to replace you,Because they feel that the only person that you have served is yourself. Here's a letter I received today concerning your actions on the council:

Yesterday at the city council meeting Edmund Ford wasn’t the only council member to go into a tirade, Councilwoman Barbara Swearengen Holt again, showed us how she likes to have her way.

Several Neighborhood activist joined together to try to express their concern for a land use project being brought before the council. The applicant purchased a building at the corner of Carnes and Greer across the street from Messick adult Vocational High School and wanted to locate a convenience store in the former woodworking shop. After buying the store building without being told it was not zoned commercial and instead zoned residential duplex. They were intentionally misled to complete the sale of the building. However the neighborhood was aware that this hasn’t been a store location since the sixty‘s.

The applicant went before the Office of Planning and Development and was rejected and the Land use and Control Board said it should only be approved under strict conditions. These were No sales of Alcohol, Tobacco, or Lottery tickets and the limit of hours of operation from 7am till 7pm along with putting up a limited access gate to the back area behind the store for after hours. The applicant agreed to the restrictions but wanted to be able to sell tobacco.

This made the neighborhood happy because they didn’t want the added traffic and the fact there is no parking available to properly operate a store for drive up customers. The neighbors including the pastor of the nearby church were still uneasy about many folks hanging out at a store up to no good or the possibility of added trash to their street. Not to mention the fact that many of the students of Messick are troubled folks trying to get a second chance by learning a trade. Many of the students have substance abuse problems with drugs and alcohol.
These restrictions made Jack Sammons and Tom Marshall uneasy about just what they could sell? Being the strong pro business anti neighborhood Brent Taylor said they could only be able sell Sprite and Twinkies. Jack Sammons and Barbara Swearengen Holt didn’t think the close quarters to the school was any problem even though there is a day care located within the building of Messick Vocational. The school is only 25 yards from the potential store location. The streets are extremely narrow at this location Carnes 30ft. And Greer 28ft. This upset Councilwoman Holt so much she went into a long speech about how they should be able to sell whatever they wanted to whoever they wanted and shouldn’t be told they couldn’t sell Tobacco or Lottery or even Alcohol. Jack Sammons said he’s Catholic and selling alcohol anywhere is not a problem. So after debate Councilwoman Holt placed a amendment to the resolution over turning any restrictions whatever.
Councilwoman Carol Chumney reminded Councilwoman Holt that there was a daycare at the school when TaJaun Stout Mitchell laughed and said “yea sell a four year old a cigarette and a beer and then laughed again. The Vote was taken and it ended up passing 10 to 2

Voting for it were Holt, Sammons, Mitchell, Lowery, Ford, Taylor, Brown, Jones, Brittenum and Marshall.

Yes Judge Breen,It Is A Sad Day

This afternoon as I sat in the federal courtroom of Judge Daniel Breen listening to Michael hooks speak about how he had destroyed the legacy of his family, I had to agree but I also knew that a portion of black history had been destroyed and was being sentence also.

No matter what Michael Hooks Sr. Has done there was a time that he served this community,and was thought to be one of the brightest stars to shine in the political skies that cross the black community. I get no real joy in seeing Michael become a broken man, a man who by his own admission has no one to blame but himself. I get no joy in knowing that blacks had to fight for political strength and power, And then to see it decaying because of greed and a agenda that is not about the people who marched,cried and died to make it possible.

As a black man I have taken pride in the past when people of the struggle were able to be elected to positions that 50 years ago blacks thought would never happen. As I looked today at Dr. Benjamin Hooks and heard him say that at 81 years of age he has fought all his life for what's right and has been in public service all his life. I became angry at Mike for tarnishing this man's legacy. But then Dr. Hooks stated that one must recover from the mistakes that they bring on themselves,and only they can do it.

The black community must create an agenda that will hold its leaders accountable. An agenda that will let them know that we will not allow their betrayal. An agenda that says "we don't support you because of your color,but because you will do right by those who place you in office"

Michael Hooks was sentenced to 26 months,he states that he will use that time to soul search and become a better Michael Hooks. He stated that color had nothing to do with where he finds himself now,he just made a bad mistake. He stated that no one placed a gun at his head and he should have told Tim Willis to get the hell out of his face. Michael never tried to spin a reason for what he did, he states it was just wrong.

Federal Judge Daniel Breen told Hooks after mentioning the service that he has rendered to this community,that it was a sad day when a man like Michael hooks has to stand before him. Hooks who needs to have knee replacements in both knees ask the court to send him to Maxwell federal prison in Alabama,Which may or may not happen but this prison has a medical facility on grounds.

After the sentence was given, and the court dismissed Hooks with tears in his eyes went over and sat beside his wife Janet,who comforted him. I stood looking and wishing that Michael had been able to just say no to the temptation of greed. Because I know that Michael Hooks Sr at one time represented the hopes and dreams of a race of people who desperately needed hope to fulfill dreams that many thought could never become reality.

Michael Hooks was asked as he walked away from the Federal building if he would never run for office again, He replied "The Only Race I will Ever Run,Is The Race of Salvation". While I hate that Michael Hooks allowed himself to go down this path, I believe prison is where he belongs,alone with any other poli-trick-an who violates the trust of the community.

There has been a lot of conversation about Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford concerning the alleged bribe money they received from Joe Cooper. These three are all placing criminal charges. But I still must ask why hasn't Attorney William H. Thomas been charged, since it was his idea to to use Cooper to bribe the two public officials.

William H.Thomas is listed as a Family law attorney but there's something mighty fishy about him. He has drug dealers cars registered to his business address,He used Cooper to buy the votes of Ford and Peete so the criminal complaint states. The drug dealer "Rico" whose car was registered to 5160 sanderlin which is Thomas's office is charged with the murder of two people who supposely had drugs and money stolen from them. This same drug dealer was able to get out of jail on 1.2 million dollars worth of bonds.

"Rico" was thought to be a fugitive after missing a August court date and had a active warrant on him until I asked a local TV station to check into it and they found that the feds have him in their custody. But why?Is he in protective custody? There is something strange about the relationship between William H. Thomas and the drug dealer who the DEA states that Joe Cooper was trying to find recruits for to help smuggle drugs in from Mexico.

Have I stumbled onto something bigger than bribing public officials? Have I stumbled onto a drug cartel? William Thomas not only wanted to bill billboards,but build storage spaces as well.HMMMM. Thats a good place to hide drugs. Plus we know that he has a plane,Which he allowed state senator Mark Norris to use in 2004.

Today I got curious about attorney William H.Thomas and thought I would go over to his law office on Sanderlin. When I arrived at the office there was no reference to the office being that of an attorney. The sign on the door said "Thomas Investments" I went into the office using the pretext that I had some money that I wanted to invest. There were two women in the office behind a glass window. When I stated that I was just in the neighborhood and saw there sign and wanted to talk to someone about investments,I was told that they were in the billboard investment business.

This was something that I had never heard of so I asked for some literature on there investment program. I was told that they have no material for the public to see. I found this strange seeing that I have been to investment firms in the past,and they load you up with investment material.

There was nothing in the office that would make one think that you're in the office of an attorney. There were no business cards laying around like in most law firms that want you to take a card to pass on to your friends. I was so amazed by what had just happen I called a friend and asked them to run "Thomas Investments" in the state of Tennessee Business listings to check out its business charter. What was found was that the corporations was inactive:

If this is the case how is this business operating in this state? I ran the name through several times and came back with the same thing. We do know that William H.Thomas is a very wealthy man,who lives in a $494,000 home,has various cars listed at his address that are being driven by drug dealers,including one who was looking to smuggle drugs from Mexico with the help of Joe cooper who has a relationship with him. We also know that he has atleast 63 different properties here in Shelby County plus he has a plane.

The federal government might have caught Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford in there net,but are they allowing a even bigger fish to get away? I am not calling William H. Thomas a drug boss or kingpin, But I am saying that there is something mighty strange about him. Why is he still free? Why am I the only person talking about him? Is there someone in government that should have him in jail or have him going through the same chaos as Peete and Ford?

If the feds allow him to walk,they must do the same thing for Peete and ford. I know that the FBI alone with other federal agencies monitor this site,so I would like to see you do what's right and bring in this developer/lawyer and prove to this community that you are not just going after black tricksters but white ones as well.

maybe the feds need to take a look at Rickey Peete's campaign disclosures.Looking at his disclosure of 2001 I found something that was strange. James Sellers receiving over $15,000 in a matter of weeks for being a campaign consultant. This is the same James Sellers that some say cannot read his name in boxcar letters. This is the same James Sellers who was indicted alone with Shep Wilbun. This Is the same James Sellera that would jump off a bridge if Peete told him to.

So when did Sellers become a political consultant? And in a district where Peete was save why would he need a consultant? And why would that Consultant be paid such a large amount in less than a month?

Could it be because Peete was using Sellers to illegally funnel campaign funds to him for his personal use? Was Sellers being used to clean up dirty money from someone who may had a little bribe money to give? And it would be very easy to do when your mother is your campaign treasurer.

DOES PEETE THINK THAT WE'RE DUMB ENOUGH TO BELIEVE THAT THIS WAS HIS FIRST TIME TAKING A BRIBE?

A Plea To A Friend

I've known Edmund Ford for years,and consider him a friend. I've worked with him at his funeral home,in fact I brought him his first case when he opened. He's the finest embalmer in the area,I've seen him work wonders on bodies that family members thought were unviewable, But in the situation he finds himself in presently,My friend is wrong to remain on the council.

In the end a judge and jury will have to make the decision as to weather or not he's guilty of a crime,But he already knows. But in a season where the community has lost all trust in elected officials,it serves no purpose for him to remain on the council. There will remain a cloud of distrust over him,his very presence on the council will cause the city lawsuits from those on opposing sides who may feel that his vote was based on a bribe.

Having seen Joe Cooper hang around the funeral home on many occasions led me to believe that Ford allowed himself to get caught up in a factor of greed. His involvement with Rusty Hyneman leads me to think the same. I know that Edmund wants his business to succeed and would do most anything to make that happen. I know that he wants to prove to his family that E.H.Ford can be as large a funeral home as N.J.Ford. But to violate the trust of those who elected him is just wrong.

I would ask him to think about his wife Myrna and his sons who have stuck with him when his brothers turned their backs on him,and do the right thing and allow the citizens of his district to have the representation they rightfully deserve,which they cannot have now if he remains on the council.

It will ultimately be his decision to make,weather he remains on the council or resigns,But the longer he stays the longer the community will come after him. To resign would prove that at least he has concern for the people who placed him in office. I did not address this plea to Rickey Peete because I don't think that it would do any good,he's a two time charged poli-trick-an with a massive ego that has destroyed his common sense.

But I know Edmund who is a steward in his church,is a praying man,that knows that God is still able to deliver,even if that deliverance has to come from a judge and jury,or from the confession of a man who knows he's done wrong. I didn't write this in an attack mode,But as a plea for a friend to do the right thing.

REMEMBER EDMUND RICKEY WILL TURN ON YOU TO SAVE HIS ASS.

WHEREAS,the thirteen members of the Memphis City Council were elected to improve the future of our City and its citizens,and in this service we have become close friends and colleagues,and

WHEREAS,unfortunately friends can disappoint each other,and the charges against our friends and colleagues Ed Ford and Rickey Peete have disappointed the members of the City Council and the citizens of Memphis,and

WHEREAS,during the remainder of our terms,it will be difficult to conduct the business of the City of Memphis with these charges pending against Mr.Ford and Mr.Peete,and the citizens of Memphis deserve our full attention to the matters important to this City.

NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Memphis City Council humbly.prayerfully and respectfully asks that our two colleagues,Ed Ford and Rickey Peete,resign their elected positions and focus their energy and attention on their legal defenses.

What's Love Got To Do With It?

Today the Memphis city Council proved once more and again that there agenda is not that of the people. At 9:15 this morning,with extra security in the executive chambers of the council a meeting was called to order that appeared to be the second meeting. It appeared that many of the councilmembers had attended a meeting where the rest of us were not invited.

Councilman E.C. Jones who earlier this week and last called for Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford to resign,took a different direction of what he had been saying. When the resolution presented by Councilman Jack Sammons was presented that would ask for the two to resign.Jones stated that any action from the council was premature.and that the council should not make any move until after the case is heard in court.

What was it that changed Jones mind? Was it the fact that Edmund Ford was present and he couldn't say to his face what he had been saying on TV? Jones also wanted to know if the council was prejudging without due process.

I must add that there is nothing that the council can do legally to remove Peete or Ford,neither is there anything that they can do to stop the two from voting,but it's my opinion that many in this community were waiting for the council to prove that they had the balls to say " Councilmen peete and ford even though you have not had your day in court,there is a cloud that is hovering over not only you but this body and that we feel that it's in the best interest of this body and this city that the two of you resign so that this body can be about the people's business without any detrations" the council members could have went on to say " While we support you as friends, and will be there for you,We must show this city that we care more about what is best for this city than our personal relationships'

But did this happen? No. The only black council member that spoke out for Peete and ford to resign was Myron Lowery, who also voted in support of Sammons resolution. Joe brown never made a comment the whole session.

But the most dramactic moment came when Barbara Holt, became upset because the resolutions was even presented. In reference to Peete and Ford she stated that "There're souls,These are human beings, Not only do we love them,but there families love them them,we have to think about there Family" At this point she grabs the tissue and fakes a cry. She holds her face in the tissue until those of us in the chamber finally realize that Joe brown is not dead. Brown gets up to come over and comfort her,while Edmund Ford pats her on the arm.

Nice gesture Barbara, but who really gives a damn about your tears? This community is crying from the corruption that poli-trick-ans are taking us through,we're crying from watching the crime rate go up while we have a mayor with bodyguards and a squad car parked at the entrance to his home. We're crying while you raise our taxes and cut our services. So excuse us if we think that you are just a big put on, trying to cover for your crooked friends

Rickey Peete knew better, his behavior tells us he knew better. He didn't trust Cooper,he kept speaking of the alphabet boys,and wanting the money left in the bathroom. Rickey does not deserve pity,but disgust. Edmund who I have known personally for a long time knew better, with a brother already under indictment for his role in the Tennessee Waltz, One would think that he would be the last one to take a bribe. The feds have them on tape,and its going to be hard to argue with them looking at yourself on film.

Even though the council had no power to oust Peete or Ford,They should have sent this community a message by passing the resolution. But since they didn't send us a message,maybe we need to send them one next year at the polls. Barbara you told me today that you will be running for re-election next year,well you won't be in the race alone.

How Much Time Will Hooks Get?

Michael Hooks Sr. Is set for sentencing on Wednesday morning for his role in the Tennessee Waltz. If the sentencing takes place on tomorrow I expect him to receive no more than 18 months in prison. But I suspect that Hooks sentencing will be delayed so that he can testify against someone else.

Gale Jones Carson,Executive Assistant To the Mayor will be leaving City Hall in January for a position at MLG&W. Carson who has served in her present position for seven years will become the Director of Corporate Communications for the utility company,with several areas under her supervision.

Prior to becoming the mayor's assistant,Carson worked six years in public relations for MLG&W. She also worked for sixteen years in corporate communications for FEDEX. In the area of communications Carson is more than qualified for the new position,having also been a former writer for the Tri-State Defender,and presently the host of a television talk show,entitled "Memphis Style Politics".

Why Was the Tact Squad Used On The 30 Year Captains?

In an attempt to please Mayor Willie Herenton,who wanted budget cuts in various city departments to cover the screw up his finance people had made in the budget,Police Director Larry Godwin decided to eliminate the 30 year Captain'S positions. The rank of captain was given to any officer that remained on the force for 30 years.

During the period of 30 years the 93 officers no doubt had placed there lives on the line numerous times for the citizens of this community. These men and women left family members daily who did not know weather or not they would ever see their loved one again. No matter how much the elimination of their jobs would save the city these officers are owed a debt of gratitude from the citizens of this city.

I became aware several weeks ago of how these officers were told that they no longer served a purpose in the department,when I read a legal deposition submitted by Director Godwin to Attorney Javier Bailey who represented the captains in a lawsuit.

In the deposition which is taken under oath,Godwin concedes that their was no due process in the elimination of the positions. So the captains had no chance to keep their positions,because Godwin wanted them gone and he wanted to please the mayor.After 30 years on the job,those jobs cease to exist without explanation.

The 93 officers were called to the Training Center in North Memphis. Upon arriving there they became aware that the Tact Squad seemed to be on full alert. The Tact Unit was in full tactical gear,and were on the roof,grounds,and inside the building.Upon entering the building the 93 captains were surrounded by the tact unit who herded them into a room where they were not able to leave.

Sources at the Training Center state that the Police director and the Command unit were also wearing body armour,and that the police helicopter was on stand by in case the director and his staff needed to make a fast get away.

When attorney Bailey asked the director about this action against his men,he did not deny it took place,in fact he stated that in reference to the captains"They no longer served a functional use in my administration". Attorney Bailey also ask Godwin weather the mayor ordered him to handle the situation in such a manner,Godwin replied "No".

What was the director fearful of? Did he think that the captains would go "Postal"? I think that the manner in which the firing,demotion,or whatever you want to call it was improper. I feel that officers who have given their lives to a community deserve more respect then they received. Forget about the savings,that's not really my concern in this story,But for these captains to be treated like criminals in a distant land is beyond thought. And by the way Mr. Mayor you owe these men and women an apology, for allowing this to happen to them. But we all know they want get one.

Attorney Bailey put together a pay out plan for the department for those who would have retired that would save the city $10,000,000 over three years,but the city never responsed. In this years fiscal budget for the police department the money for the 93 captains is still intact, it was requested by the director and approved by the council. At the time that the council approved the budget they were unaware that he was going to do away with the positions. So where is the money? Where has the money been moved to in the budget, and who in Willie's finance department gave the okay to move the funds around?

Sara Hall before becoming city attorney was personnel director,and she never found a reason to eliminate the captain positions,So why did Godwin find this need? And if the need was a fiscal one why did he still include it in his budget? The mistreatment of these officers went to the extent of the suspension Capt.Robert Gill for 145 days for having a flat.

SO THE QUESTION IS IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE MPD HOW DO WE SOLVE IT?

Why has the local media not did a story on Attorney William H.Thomas,the person that was using Joe cooper to bribe City Council Members Edmund Ford,and Rickey Peete? Thomas is a local attorney who has an office at 5160 Sanderlin,in fact he owns the office building.According to the Property assessor's office he owns at least 63 parcels of property in Shelby County,Alone with a $494,000 Home.

I received a call from a contact today that stated that what he owns all together will boggle the mind,and promises to get me a total background and list of assets of this attorney that practices family law. Records show his being involved in the outdoor advertising business,But I believe that Thomas has his hands in a lot of pies,and some pies that are to hot to handle.

The 2004 financial disclosures of state senator mark Norris shows a $500,00 in kind contribution,where Norris used the airplane of Thomas. Korreco "Rico" Green the drug dealer that set up Joe Cooper,after Cooper lied stating that the Cadillac that "Rico' was driving was stolen, had his car registered to Thomas's business address.

Why would an attorney provide transportation for a drug dealer? How was this drug dealer able to make over $1,000,000 in bail bonds? The DEA states that Cooper was trying to recruit someone to help "Rico" smuggle drugs from Mexico. Is there a connection between drugs,"Rico",Joe Cooper and William Thomas?

Until mid morning today Shelby County had an active warrant on "Rico" for missing a August court day,he was considered a fugitive from justice running on a $1.2 million dollar bond. But after a local TV station started checking on "Rico" and told by the sheriff's department that indeed there was an active warrant on him,Rico's warrant disappeared from the county system.and the station was told by someone that "Rico" is In federal custody. I'm wondering why he's in federal custody,and why local law enforcement didn't know hmmmmmmmm.

I also received a call early this morning from a source who told me to find out what bonding company had bonded him out on such a high bond. The source bet that the bonding company would be Nationwide Bonding. True enough it was,I called the source back and asked why She/he was sure that Nationwide was the bonding company. She/he stated that the owner Geraldine Galloway had herself did federal time for her involvement in the drug trade. The source also stated that Galloway had been involved in a scheme to get cars from dealers and then rent the cars out to others who would pay her.

I told the source I knew this to be true since as a repo man I had looked for several cars that had been acquired from Tom Bell leasing through Galloway,that were never found. And the ones I did find the drivers thought that they were purchasing the cars from Galloway,and that she would change the registration over in there names after they finish paying her.The drivers paid her but she forgot to pay Tom Bell. I was told by the source that Joe cooper had a relationship with Nationwide.

The complaint against Cooper does state that he signed the bond for "Rico" HMMMM, that's surely a nice thing for just a guy selling a car to do. So again I ask what is the relationship that cooper has with drug dealers,there cars and William Thomas a lawyer whose willing to bribe poli-trick-ans to be able to bill storage spaces. I know maybe this wealthy attorney wants to be the next Fred Smith and fly in packages and then have a place to store them.

At Thomas's home address the cars he has registered happen to be a 98 Volvo,98 LandRover,05 Cadillac,04 Porshe,and a 05 Escalade. The family law business must be good. It's great that the feds got Peete and Ford for bribery,But when are they going to get the guy doing the bribing?

Several weeks ago I found out through several of her friends that Memphis City Council Chairwoman Tajuan Stout Mitchell would be leaving the council. Mitchell will assume an administrative role at City Hall heading up Intergovernmental Relations and reporting to City Attorney Sara Hall.

Mitchell will make an official announcement on tomorrow,The announcement will come on the heels of the very public arrests of two other long-serving council members, Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford. Several council members have called on those two to resign. Their tenure on the council and the integrity of certain recent votes will be addressed at a specially-called executive session meeting tomorrow.

City Attorney Sara Hall says Mitchell's new salary will be $85,000 per year. Because of her long employment with the City of Memphis, Mitchell will be eligible to participate in the City's former "12-and-out" policy, making her eligible for retirement in the summer of 2008. Her pension payments will be a reflection of her salary at that time.Sources say Mitchell's resignation has nothing to do with these events. She will replace Dottie Jones, who recently left to head up Community Services for Shelby County Mayor A C Wharton.

But I guess my question is,isn't memphis going through a financial crisis? Didn't Robert Lipscomb and Willie Herenton state that there would have to be some belt tightening? If so how are we so able to create jobs? Janet Hooks had a job created making over $80,000,Sara Lewis has a job created making over $80,000, And now Mitchell. Why is a big public company like Federal Express using its powerful reach and influence in Memphis to cover up the criminal behaviors of its high profile employees?

The story that hit the air on November 29, 2006 was broadcast to air these abuses of powers and bring to light a mother’s cry for public help. Danielle Malmquist has been living a nightmare. Over the past two years, she has fought an uphill battle fraught with roadblocks thrown up by police in several jurisdictions, an unsympathetic and money-hungry phalanx of divorce attorneys, a less-than-forthright guardian ad litem and, most heartbreaking, the loss of her children, both now toddlers. She has been verbally, physically and sexually abused by her husband, FedEx Assistant Chief Pilot Captain Shem Malmquist, who has assembled a formidable team of attorneys, including Dorothy Ponders, Anne Mead, Robert Rutledge, Steve Gassner, Beverly Gassner and Katia Dielh, who have used their political power and influence to portray – without foundation - Mrs. Malmquist as an unstable mother to the courts. As if having six attorneys to destroy the reputation of the mother of your children was not enough, Mr. Malmquist then hired police officer Michael Akin and private investigator Lisa Akin to harass, stalk, defame and fabricate facts about her. The State of Tennessee Licensing Board currently is investigating the authenticity of the private investigative company under which the Akins conduct their business.

Court-appointed Guardian ad Litem Gina Higgins was brought onto this case in May 2005 on the recommendation of Mr. Malmquist’s attorney. What was never revealed to the court or Mrs. Malmquist was that Ms. Higgins was then Vice President (and subsequently President) of the Ben F. Jones Chapter for the Memphis Bar Association, whose largest political and financial supporter is Fed Ex.

When ABC News contacted Mr. Malmquist attorney, Ms. Dorothy Pounder’s, she refused to comment. Instead, Mr. Malmquist sent out his secondary guns, FedEx to call ABC and threaten legal action if they aired the story on the Malmquist’s.

In another twist, it was later discovered that Michael Akin Sir, father of Mrs. Malmquist’s harasser, is the former President of the Federal Pilots Association. So who is Federal Express Public Relations looking out for? The solicitor or the solicitee?

My question is why Federal Express is covering up criminal conduct of their employees? As a very large and reputable public company - the pride, indeed of Memphis - would it not be in the interest of the public that this highly questionable conduct cease?

According to the Tennessee Registry of Election Finance website, Democrats Ophelia Ford and Reginald Tate each received $1000.00 from “TeamGOP.” Neither TeamGOP nor any member of its board donated one dollar to any Democrat in 2006. The records that report those donations are bogus.

“Today I have written letters to Drew Rawlings, Executive Director of the Tennessee Registry of Election Finance, and Mark Gwyn, Director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, asking for an immediate investigation into this blatantly illegal activity,” said TeamGOP’s General Chairman Jeff Ward. “I can see no other reason to use a false name other than to hide the real source of the money.”

This group who states that at the time that the contribution was suppose to have been given,has bank records showing that they did not have that much money in the bank. Ford And Peete Should Resign, Not Just for Being Corrupt,But For Being Dummies

Even though there are bigger fish in the political corruption net,Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford got caught. And for this reason they should resign from the Memphis City Council. Not only should they resign for their alleged crimes,but for just being plain stupid. With all that has happen with the Tennessee Waltz it takes a damn fool to accept a political bribe.

This lastest incident makes Peete a two time loser as a corrupt poli-trick-an who in his official capacity has accepted a bribe. As for Ford with his brother being indicted in the Waltz sting he should have allowed common sense to prevail. There is no excuse for what they as public servants have allowed to happen.

Yes there are bigger fish left in the net and hopefully the FBI as the official fisherman will reel them in,But in the meantime they have served up Peete and Ford and they should be placed on the stove to cook.

The City Council will meet tomorrow morning in a special session to censure the two poli-trick-ans, or ask them to resign. The two should saved themselves from farther dishonor by resigning today. They will no longer be trusted by the community,and with City Attorney Sara hall advising them not to vote,They serve no purpose.

What if a major drug boss needs a way to bring drugs in from Mexico and store them without being noticed. And what if that boss is very wealthy and has political connections. What if that boss owns property and wants to create a storage space business as a front to his drug dealing and at the same time use the storage spaces to store his drugs.

And what if the area he owns is not zoned for the building of storage spaces,but he has money and political ties,and decides to buy the influence of two city council members. What if he doesn't want to get his hands dirty with the payoff,so he sends one of his stooges that has a relationship with the council members to do his dirty bidding.

In the meantime his mules who carry his drugs want new Cadillac's,and he wants to keep them happy so what if that same stooge happens to work at a Cadillac dealership and is able to get the cars for the drug mules,by providing persons with good credit to place the cars in there names. What if the boss even uses his business address for the drug mules to use.

What if after missing a payment on a car provided by the stooge in the stooges wife name, the stooge reports the car stolen to the police.And what if that mule is found driving the car and is charged with auto theft. What if the mule knows now that he has been betrayed by the stooge and decides to work with the feds. What if the feds wire the mule and gives him money to give to the stooge. What if the stooge gets caught by the feds and knowing that this is his second offense,decides to take down the two council members that the boss needs to get his zoning done so he can build his storage spaces so that he will have a space to store his drugs from Mexico.

And what if the two council members take the bribe money and get caught by the feds,and are arrested alone with the stooge. Should anyone else be arrested alone with the crooked poli-trick-ans and the stooge?

And what if the boss has 63 pieces of property in Shelby County,a $494,000 home, his own plane, and says that he makes his living as a bankruptcy attorney.

As we continue to Dot,Dot,Dot, Lets look at Joe Cooper ability to get cars financed for drug dealers using the name and addresses of friends. The complaint states that Coop got at least 5 drug dealers new Cadillac's. The dealers had bad or no credit so Coop for a fee would get the dealers luxury rides.

But Coop can not close the deal on his own,he had to have help. All deals have to be approved by the finance department,so how was Coop able to get the deals approved without the knowledge of the finance manager and CFO of Bud Davis Cadillac? Even using friends there should have been some alerts.

First of all the person purchasing the cars had to come in and fill out a credit application,its takes that person's signature to be able to run a credit report. In one case Coop's wife purchased a car for the drug dealer in her name. Are we to think that David West the CFO didn't know Mrs. Coop? Are we to think that the drug dealers never appeared at the car lot to pick out what car they wanted?

Was this car lot like most car lots in such a hurry to close a deal that they turned there heads to that which was criminal? Being in the repo business I see it all the time. I see lots taking bad checks and giving possession before the financing is approved. I know of lots that create paperwork to get deals closed. So for one to think that a car lot would not be involved in Coop's racket is foolish.

But you may be asking where is the crime,if Bud Davis is willing to risk the lost? Bud Davis is not taking the lost,The finance company is. Bud Davis is the dealer,not the company financing the car. The dealer finds from a list of finance companies,one who will accept the deal based on your credit. After the deal is closed and approved by that finance company they send Bud Davis a check for the car.

Here's where the crime comes in. The finance company buys the paper from Bud Davis in good faith,believing that the dealer has made sure that the paperwork is correct and that the person purchasing the car will pay the finance company. But when those involved in selling the car know that the person who will have possession of the car is not the same person registering it, or claiming ownership and that that person has no legal claim to the car or the finance company and all of this is done without the knowledge of the finance company, fraud has been committed. And since the finance company is more than likely in another state it becomes a federal offense and a job for the FBI.

Who are all the persons that Coop used to defraud Bud Davis? Did his wife sign the paperwork knowing that the car would not be in her possession? If so she made a willful attempt to defraud. Someone at Bud Davis alone with Coop had to be involved in this crime. Attorney William H. Thomas the attorney that feds state was using Coop as the bagman to buy votes from Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford has a Cadillac that is driven by a drug dealer registered to his business address.

Did attorney Thomas go into Bud Davis and close a deal knowing that he was being used to provide a car to a drug dealer? Is this attorney a part of a plot to defraud? What is his real relationship to Coop and the drug dealers?

Ernest Norcross the attorney for Bud Davis Cadillac states that Joe cooper gave up his job at the dealership because he wasn't meeting quota. Does he actually want us to believe that a saleman who had campaing type signs all over memphis with his cell phone number on them wasn't making quota? Does he want us to believe that a salesman that was selling to all the high profile figures in the city quite? What happen was Bud davis found out about the FBI's looking into their dealings,probadly by the feds going in and looking at their records,and asked Cooper to leave.

That address happens to be the business address of Attorney William H. Thomas Jr. The attorney who the feds state was buying the votes of Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford.

The names of Rickey Peete, Edmund Ford,And Joe Cooper have been ringing all over the metro Memphis area for their alleged roles in betraying the public trust in "Operation Main Street Sweeper. Their is no excuse for the two city council persons,especially in the wake of the Tennessee Waltz sting to be dumb enough to fall prey to their own greed and desire for power and find themselves now facing disgrace and prison.

Joe Cooper has for years been known to be connected to powerbrokers and poli-trick-ans. Joe's role was to make sure that those who wanted to influence those in power did not get their hands dirty, So he allegedly would for a price take the chance of dirt from the deeds done getting not only on his hands but all over him. But like the coward he appears to be,wants to make sure that if he's going to be buried in dirt someone else is going to get buried too. And if Ford and peete are guilty they should be buried.

But what in my opinion is missing in this sting that has taken down two alleged corrupt poli-trick-ans is the factor of why no charges have been filed against the person that Cooper was working for. Surely the FBI would want to connect all the dots and tap the big fish in this pond of political corruption. Surely after "Rico the drug dealer was wired to get Cooper,and Cooper was wired to get Peete and Ford,shouldn't Cooper have been wired to get the developer? But then maybe I'm speaking to soon and the developer has his day in the spotlight coming soon. But in the meantime, let me see if I can connect some of the dots.


The property at the center of the "Operation Main Street Sweeper' sting is located north of Interstate 240 near Perkins in the Quince planning district. The applicant who was denied by the Land Use Control Board is attorney William H. Thomas, And this is according to public records. City Council members Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford are accused of bribery in a federal criminal complaint made public Thursday. An affidavit states that Peete took $12,000 and Ford $6,900 from a lobbyist working undercover for the FBI. That person has been identified by the CA and other sources as Joe cooper.

Documents show that Thomas applied to develop the four-acre Steve Road Planned Development near the interstate with mini-storage facilities and two billboards. His planning firm was Fisher & Arnold. The Land Use Control Board and the planning staff of the Office of Planning and Development recommended rejection of the proposal as "incompatible with surrounding land use"

Thomas then took his plan to the Memphis City Council. On October 3rd, the council voted 9-2 to approve it and overturn a billboard moratorium. The no votes were cast by Scott McCormick and Carol Chumney. According to the affidavit, payments were made to Peete on September 12th, September 20th, and October 4th. Payments were made to Ford on August 30th, October 2nd, and October 27th.

But let's look a little closer at William H.Thomas Jr. He's an attorney who specializes in Family and bankruptcy Law. His office is located at 5160 Sanderlin #1. His $494,000 home is located at 546 Claycreek road. He has leased two parcels of property from Clear Channel Outdoor advertising,in fact that property is located at 4762 and 4772 American Way. He has a partnership with Bressler Outdoor Advertising L.L.C. with property at 3236 New Getwell road.

One thing we know for sure is that he's in the billboard business. But the big question is how many times has he done business with the city and how many times has Peete and Ford or other council members voted in his favor. As an attorney I can see him not wanting to get his hands dirty,I can also see why he would want the billboard law overturned. And surely if I as a layman can see this,the FBI can.

With segments of the community wondering why no whites are getting caught in the nets of corruption fishing,I'm sure that we will soon be informed as to the status William H.Thomas. Rickey Peete and Edmund Ford deserve to be treated like criminal if they have broken the law.They both should resign and leave themselves with some dignity. Though I doubt they will without censure from the council and a outcry from the community. Their deeds of selling there votes is a crime,but so is soliciting a public official to commit a crime. Let's lock up all those who play a role in public corruption no matter what color they are.

The community wants political corruption to come to an end,but does not want the government to be selective in it prosecution. I say lock up all the black poli-trick-ans that violate the trust of those who placed them in office,But at the same time don't let the white powerbrokers walk away. If Peete and Ford are wrong so is William H.Thomas.

Sleepless In Memphis

With Rickey Peete facing going to prison a second time I'm sure that there are many poli-trick-ans and developers that are having sleepless nights. Its no doubt that Rickey will do whatever he has to to save his ass,and lessen his sentence for being a "RE-PEETE"offender.

The "Godfather" as he is called by some who think that he is a political Kingpin,knows about a lot of shady deals that have taken place in this city. Being the chairman of the Planning and development committee of the city council,it's no telling how much money has been given to him and others to get the zoning to build and develop.

Peete who is the head of the so called North Memphis Round Table,with such members as Rep.Larry Miller,and Ulysses Jones probadly has some dirt on these state officials,who have dirt on other officials. Its common knowledge that Miller and a now County Commissioner had a relationship that allowed the Commissioner to get a printing contract with the state lottery,even though at the time the Commissioner was not in the printing business. The Commissioner was allowed to step around the requirement of being in business for five years.

Miller also serves on the PBA board, the same board that can't figure out what happen to a whole floor of the FEDEX Garage. John Ford also served on the same board,Do you think that miller and john know what happen to the lost millions and the missing floor? And I wonder what Rickey knows about that?

I wonder how many developers have paid Peete to get their projects through,are now wondering if he's going to tell about their roles in bribing a public official. Rusty Hyneman who was Peete's roomie in federal prison must be sweating bullets,wondering if Peete is going to disclose some of their dealing.maybe we'll find out why Hyneman gave Peete a house for just $10.00. Maybe we'll find out who gave peete the condo in Hot Springs Ark.

Barbara Holt is a close ally of both Peete and Hyneman,could this soon to be married councilwoman be wondering whether she'll ever walk down the aisle, Does Rickey know something on her? One thing is for sure he's going to tell on someone,because he knows that he'about to lose everything,and that he's going back to prison unless he can produce something for the fed's thats a bigger catch than him.

So to all the developers and poli-trick-ans that have gave Peete money under the table,get your matters in order because you just may be the person Peete uses to save his dumb ass.

Memphis Has The Dumbest Poli-trick-ans That Money Can Buy

If you could speak to Rickey Peete,Edmund Ford and Joe Cooper,What would you say to them about being politically corrupt? What would you say to what has to be the dumbest man on the planet Rickey Peete for falling prey a second time to taking a bribe?

If They Can't Vote,What Purpose Do They Serve?

City Attorney Sara Hall is stating that the City Charter does not require the immediate removal of elected officials charged with a crime. But Hall said she would advise that Edmund Ford and Rickey Peete not participate in votes while their cases are pending. If that be the case what purpose do the serve on the council?

The name of the informant has not been revealed by the U.S.Attorney or the FBI, But many around town believe that the informant is someone that both Edmund Ford and Rickey Peete Trusted. And everyone that I have spoken with has come up with the same name.........RUSTY HYNEMAN. But it appears that Rusty may not be the informant after all,The CA is reporting that long time friend of both Peete and Ford,Joe Cooper, in a deal to soften the blow against him by the fed's has turned his partners in crime in. But don't count Rusty out,He may get his chance at bat.

I told you over a year ago that source were telling me that there would be more charges against elected officials for their roles in political corruption. Well those same sources are telling me that at least two more City Councilpersons will face charges. I have been given names,but I will not reveal them,But I will say the they are both black,and one is a man and the other is a woman.
