In April Martin Luther King Jr. will have been dead 40 years, but yet much of what he saw is still just that, A DREAM. Racism still is the topic of the day,poverty and homelessness is still very much a subject that this country has swept under the rug. We still live in a country that would rather invade other countries then to build up this one. A country that spends billions to fight for the rights of others in distant lands,while calling Americans refugees.
Yes there has been some advancement for the black man,but not to the standards addressed by Dr. King. Some Blacks now feel that White America has changed it's spots and no longer know how to hate,and has tricked many in Black America into thinking that all is well. Some Blacks are ashamed of who they are and don't want to be reminded of this country's history toward us. Some Blacks have been lured into thinking that, that was then and whites wouldn't dare oppress us again, Because White America has given them the crumbs that have fell from the Master's table.
While this article may not address all whites, far to many still oppose Affirmative Action,which would have never been needed if White Folk would have just done right. White America does not want to be reminded of their horrific acts, they can't stand to look into the mirror and view their race as a race of demonic beings who killed and raped Blacks just because they were Black. A race where a Black man could be lynched because he whistled at a white woman.where now they long to be in the arms of a Black woman and even willing to go against other racist whites and wed her.
Black America has been given a false sense of security that those who were the oppressors in America's history,didn't give birth to offspring's of the same mind set who have taught their descendants the plan for hate. Black America does not realize that that plan does not consist of whips and chains......yet, but consists of a mind conditioning that allows Blacks to think racism and the plight of Blacks in this country has changed since the death of our Moses.
White America does not want you to protest and march, they tell you that's a thing of the past. Come to the conference room, listen to us for a little while.don't make any noise and we'll give you a room in the big house. we'll allow you to live just a little bit better than the noisy Negros. We'll put some alphabets behind your name and allow you to present yourselves as smart Negroes. The only thing that we expect from you is to STAY IN YOUR PLACE, and let us know the plan of the noisy Negro.
To the White Man and woman who understands that your race was wrong in it's treatment of Blacks in America,and has tried not by your words but your actions to support equal and civil rights, I applaud you. But to Whites who still have their racist views, who long for days of yester years, where some black men walked in fear of retribution, I serve you notice that those days will never come again. There are Black men who have no fear of you and what you can do. There are Black men who would rather die standing up , than die on our knees looking up.
Martin King had a dream,but America is still sleep. Martin King like Moses was only to see and confirm that there is a Promise land. But it's up to us to get there. It's us to us to quit wandering around aimlessly in the wilderness. It's up to us to come up with a plan of action to save our people. It's up to us to take that plan and turn it into action. The white man is not our solution,neither is so many of our black leaders who except white corporate dollars to be quiet. Neither does our hope lay in the hands of the black preacher who teaches a gospel of by and by, without teaching us how to live and survive now, A gospel of golden streets and not a gospel of asphalt street where we must walk together to get to the Promise land.
The alarm clock is ringing, the rooster is crowing, for the wake up call has been made. Black America what you gonna do?? shall you remain asleep while racism destroys this country? will you continue to doze, to cover yourselves in the sheets of complacency,and lay your head on a pillow of satisfaction. Or will you arise and say like the sanitation workers of 1968 here in Memphis,I AM A MAN and that no matter what I'll stand as a man.

The National Civil Rights Museum needs some major repairs. Hampton Hotels will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Junior with a massive restoration. It's all part of the company's "Save a Landmark" program.
According to the Memphis Business Journal, a hundred volunteers will scrap and repaint interior exhibit spaces, landscape the gardens, and power wash the exterior walls and sidewalks. It all starts in March of this year.
We're told the museum restoration is the largest effort in the "Save a Landmark" program's history.
Blacks don't want equal. Equal they now have. They want MORE than equal. They don't want to have live like decent human beings instead of thugs. They want more respect from white than they give themselves. Well, keep on steppin n fetchin because until the black culture, or lack of, changes, you'll always be an underclass.

The only way you can be a racist is if you commit an act of racism. Racism is not conceptual or suggestive or sublime or theoretical; racism manifests itself in a blatant, overt deed inflicted on the grounds of racial hatred. It is very important to define racism so we can all join hands to punish the perpetrator regardless of their race or background or excuse . . . there is no justification for being a racist in America; it is an intolerable criminal act, just as it is defamation of character to label someone as a racist for their opinions or speech. It would be like arresting me for bank robbery because I talk about how I’d love to rob a bank.So in order to discover what racism is we must identify what it is not. A guy sitting around in his rebel flag t-shirt saying “I hate Niggers” is not committing an act of racism. A group of people with Swastika tattoos chanting “We hate Niggers” are not committing an act of racism. They are exercising their constitutional right to engage in free speech and, no matter how unpopular or ignorant, no individual or group has the right to deny their freedom of speech. Just because someone is saying something offensive about a particular race of people doesn’t make them a criminal and no one has the right to attack them based on that speech . . . it is not self defense for a Negro to stomp a Whiteboy for calling him a Nigger.
This same philosophy applies in reverse, when Negroes make speeches or records spewing forth their hatred of the White man, the yellow man, A-rabs, Jewboys and all women. You can even publicly call for the death of your hated race of choice or specific members of that race with impunity, but what you cannot do is conspire, plot and execute an act of racial hatred on the grounds of racial hatred.A person or group is capable of anything, no matter how horrible, as long as they believe they have provocation, justification, rationalization and a congregation to support their outlook and intent. So we must clearly mark the out-of- bounds line in order to prosecute the guilty and protect the innocent. There is no chain of command amongst civilians, so you cannot be held responsible for someone acting on your words, because they are not orders—they are outlooks. Lynching was judiciously frowned upon, but it was an acceptable evil under the circumstances because all agreed that drastic measures had to be taken to safeguard our daughters from the scourge of Negroes as a matter of family honor and racial preservation—it’s not like we could kill our daughters for their abomination, so Negroes suffered the consequences for the depravity of White women . . . now we all suffer for it.With Jim Crow dead and gone, Negroes are free to partake of as many White women as will have them and White people are free to be disgusted and enraged . . . particularly if it’s your daughter at the bottom of the heap. I mean if Black people don’t want to go to Black schools and live in Black neighborhoods why would White people? If you say that Negroes lived in Africa for three million years before Whites got there and never formed a government, developed a written language, invented the wheel or built a house more sophisticated than a mud hut is not a racist statement; it is anthropology. When someone notes that Negro slaves were incestuously bred based on their size to create a more robust herd, it is not a racist statement; it is historical fact . . . one that cost Jimmy the Greek his job for saying it on the air . . . just think if he went on to make the scientific point that this kind of familial coupling impedes the brain with a condition called XXX. Complaining that eight out of ten carjackings are perpetrated by Negroes is not a racist statement or even a prejudice one; it’s the news. But Caucasians who address these issues or offer solutions is called a racist so nothing gets said and nothing gets done and Negroes fall further down the totem pole.In the fifty year history of integration, there isn’t one single solitary example of a suburban school that benefited from the presence of Negroes and not one suburban neighborhood that became safer and more affluent after Negroes moved in. Out of tens of thousands of instances of Black flight, there is not one success story of life getting better for all concerned once the Negroes arrived. It isn’t even discrimination when Whites refuse to sell or rent housing to Negroes; it is survival. So until Negroes are willing to change their reality they have no right to comment or sue Caucasians for these righteous attitudes we hold against them.In the arena of race relations, it is only deemed politically correct for Caucasians to listen while Negroes snivel about the effects of racial intolerance, without commenting on the causes. We are not allowed to hold them responsible for their misdeeds, because they are self-styled victims. We cannot factor in genetics, or heredity, or history or statistics, when dealing with the problems faced and created by Negroes, because they are ashamed of their heritage, lineage and society. We even have to take it one step further and refrain from basking in the merits and accomplishments of our forebears and culture, because it infuses Negroes with a debilitating inferiority complex, which inevitably leads them to a life of crime. So if little Johnny White hits a homerun and little Reggie Black strikes out we are not allowed to celebrate little Johnny White’s achievement because little Reggie Black will feel so bad he’ll go join a gang . . . so now nobody gets cake and everyone feels resentful. You can’t even tell little Reggie to work on his game so maybe one day he’ll hit a homerun and we can all have cake again, because little Reggie will go to the N.A.A.C.P. and file a lawsuit against the coach for racial insensitivity.The format of racism has been cast to allow Negroes excuses for their failures and transgressions, which only cements them in the crumbling foundation of America and becomes the building blocks for a decaying Negro culture. We have made racism illegal and still they founder, so they campaign for a law that does away with prejudice, which is the same as making it mandatory for White people to like Black people, embrace their culture above all others and put their needs before our own . . . as ever, they want us to do for them what they will not do for themselves. This ideology of enforcing Caucasian admiration of Negroes is the impossible dream and they know it and that’s why it is the platform for the Uncivil Rights Movement in the Twenty-First Century, because no matter what we do for them it will never be enough, By this standard they believe they are entitled to threaten us for more of our pie as compensation for our dislike of them. By doing this, they insure that the blame for all their failures will be placed on the shoulders of White people . . . and our loathing of all they represent festers and boils.All my life all I’ve heard is Negroes complaining that they can’t help themselves so Whites have to take on their problems, but they don’t want our advice and they don’t want to learn from our examples and they don’t want to work with us, they just want us to cut them a check and give them the good life they will not work for. But since Negroes have never developed a commodity or a service to offer themselves or mankind, they bring nothing to the table and spend their lives on the fringe of the White world demanding equal accommodations under our roof . . . their only bargaining chip is threats of riots to get some hush money.So the final solution to resolve racial issues is to put closure on the past and maintain distance in the future . . . not with destructive racism, but with a healthy prejudice.

In one of his speeches here in Memphis, Reverand Al Sharpton stated the redistribution of wealth in America as a goal.
Let Al and anyone thinks this will happen short a revolution go on down to Havana where they would not have to go through a lot of wasted dreaming to see this happen.
I mean someone talking like that would have to over through the government and Al doesn't have it as per the example of only a small group listened to his chatter Saturday night. Marriage means nothing to a person like Thad. He was never a capable husband or father. You might as well have posed that question to John Ford, another of Memphis' outstanding elected officials. Why is it he allowed to hang around so long without being jailed after a criminal career that started in the seventies and may be going on right now? The wake-up call is NOT that we should strive to get along within the races. Living as we do in America now is being threatened not by the racist attitudes, but a more complex problem.
This country has started to soften by not enforcing its laws, which is another indication of a Republic about to fall.
All Democrats, along with the Hollywood elite, are sending us headlong into a total defeat in the Middle East, which will finally give Iran total dominance in the region.
A lack of oil in the near future will be the final straw that dooms this Republic. However, if we refuse to let this happen and really get serious about an energy self-sufficiency program, this can be avoided. I am afraid, however, that we are going in the opposite direction.
If we elect a Democrat such as Hillary Clinton and a Democrat-controlled congress, and they carry through with allowing Iran to take control of the Middle East, continue to refuse development of nuclear energy, refuse to allow drilling for new oil, and continue to do nothing but oppose everything that President Bush has tried to repair, it will be over in terms of what we view as the good life in the USA .
Now, do I think that all who do not support the war are un-American -- of course not. They just do not understand the importance of total victory in that region.

Sharpton comes to Memphis pushing for redistribution of wealth. Did he distribute anything from his wallet while here? To the best of my knowledge King was not asking for a redistribution of wealth. He had more sense than Shrimpton will ever have. There is no more chance for the redistribution of wealth in this country than there is of Thaddeus Matthews being ajudicated sane.

A lot can be said about racism in America, especially institutionalised racism. As a child, I saw my father work hard and long to provide for his family. Then one day he had a stroke on the job and was incapacitated for a couple of years. In the interim my mother was forced to apply for welfare to supplement my dad's income. She was told ( I was there with her ) that she couldn't have my dad living in the house. My dad moved two blocks over with family to recover and made sure he saw us every day. When I went back to school a friend of mine who was white invited me over and I was surprised to learn that his family too was temporarily on the dole. However, his family was not made to separate as mine was.
Even as a child I knew there was a difference in our treatment. But I can honestly say that it made me far stronger mentally and spiritually than most of my peers. It instilled in me the need to be independent and to be strong enough to defend that independence by any means. Those bigots who hate another human because of his/her colour are merely fools not knowing that the slavery of over a hundred years ago was just a test run to be modified and implemented on a larger society. The real crises that affect our lives is a corporatocracy that seeks to divide and dominate from the root of society (families) to all who are not in the upper eschelons of the corporate/government class system.
Jerome Payne doesn't seem to be a new voice to me. In the past, hasn't he ran for the school board, city council and now isrunning for general sessions court clerk, a full time job. Maybe it's just time to throw in the towel on the law practice, or just run for any office that might be open.
What's his problem been in the past? It's about time we all give a little attention to the background of some of these candidates or else we can end up with another Fullilove, Wand Hillbutt or lord forbide another Ford. Who is Jerome Payne running against?
