The civil rights activist and former presidential candidate said that just having a black man and a woman in the White House race wasn't the slain civil rights leader's dream.
Sharpton also told an audience at Philander Smith College in Little Rock tonight that the recent racially charged tiff between the two Democrats shows that no candidates have moved past race.
Sharpton said having the first black or female president won't mean much if King's dream of equality isn't reflected in the rest of society.

Fatal East Memphis shooting
5:05 a.m., January 18, 2008
A man was shot and killed Thursday night in the Highland Heights neighborhood.
It happened at about 11 in the 3400 block of Bowen Avenue, near North Highland and Summer.
The 40-year-old victim was taken to The Med, where he died a short time later.
Memfrica Police have no suspects in custody.

Black Shelby County Firefighter Arrested

A black firefighter is accused of buying stolen electronic equipment and storing it at the fire station where he works.
Sheriff's deputies say Lt. Ernest Parker was arrested Wednesday night at a fire station in Lakeland. They say his name surfaced during an investigation into thefts from area stores. Deputies say they received a tip that Parker wanted to buy stolen property while on duty.
Investigators say Parker offered to buy four flat screen televisions for $1,400. Parker is charged with theft of property over $1,000.

TN Shuts Down Black Owned Memfrica Ambulance Service

Tennessee officials revealed new details Thursday about why they shut down a black owned Memfrica ambulance service. Eyewitness News Everywhere was the first and only station to tell you about the troubles at AmeriCare Ambulance Services last month. The company's license was revoked after a Tennessee Board of Emergency Medical Services hearing in Nashville in December. During that same hearing, AmeriCare's owner, Otis Jones, Jr., lost his EMT license.
State officials say the company was breaking rules that could have put patients' lives at risk. According to the state, AmeriCare was putting its patients in the passenger seats of its ambulances. State rules say patients must be buckled onto stretchers in the back of ambulances at all times, even during non-emergency rides.
The Tennessee Board of Emergency Medical Services also says patients were given rides without any licensed EMTs being on board. According to state rules, At least one licensed EMT must be on an ambulance at all times.
State officials also say AmeriCare was transporting patients on two ambulances that didn't have the proper inspections, permits, or licenses.
Memfrica paramedic Trina Farley says the state rules are in place for good reason. She says, "You have to follow every rule strictly, exactly by the books, because you have a person's life in your hands." Farley says even a small mistake during an ambulance ride could mean the difference between life and death for the patient inside the vehicle. She adds, "If you do one thing out of the ordinary, it could jeopardize their life."
During 2006, AmeriCare Ambulance Services provided more than 6,000 non-emergency rides to patients. Most of the patients were traveling to and from doctor's appointments, nursing homes, and dialysis.
AmeriCare Ambulance's owner Otis Jones, Jr. can appeal the order to revoke his and his company's licenses.
