I was totally shocked when on TV for thousands to hear and see City Council woman Janis Fullilove threatened Action News 5's Janice Broach. Fulliove made the statement"I listened to the person on your station, Janice Broach, and I'm gonna tell Janice Broach my grandmother always told me, 'You dig one hole, you better dig two.' And Janice, you better watch out. You're hole comin' baby."This statement by Fullilove proves that there is something wrong with her that popping a pill won't cure. The first term council woman is upset that Broach broke the story about her arrest in MS in March when she wouldn't take the "Drunk Test".
The arrest was no secret, there were reporters over the last month you had been trying after hearing the rumor of the occurrence who were trying to get proof of the incident. Yes I was aware that Janis was arrested,in fact I received the call from a source the very night that Janis was booked and was told that she was stopped after a driver in the Tunica area noticed the way that she was driving and that her behavior gave the appearance that she was under the influence of alcohol.
I spoke with Janis the next morning and told her that I was aware of her being arrested. She confessed to me that she had in fact been drinking. I told her that she needed to get some help for herself and if she promised not to drink and drive again I would not expose her. She promised that she would not.
In trying to help a friend I may have enabled her to drive under the influence again maybe even taking the life of a child and perhaps even killing herself. So it's for that reason that I must write this article. Janis stating today that she does not have a drinking problem in totally untrue. Friends of hers have stated that they fear for her but won't push her to seek help. Political leeches who attached themselves to her knew of her problem and instead of running her to get help they ran her for office.
I have no doubt that Janis wants to be a public servant,and that she has the community at heart but she needs to take care of herself before she attempts to take care of citizens. The fact that she had Mayor Willie Herenton at her side at a press conference on Monday was not a wise move, because now the community and those in her district know that her allegiance is to herenton and that she will give him her vote on anything that he wants.
As for the latest accident in Tunica where the child was injured,Janis stated to me on last week that she had had two glasses of wine before attempting to drive home. When I spoke with Janis on last week she didn't know what happened,She believed that her car had been broadsided and that the woman from Paris Tennessee was at fault. In Fact Janis told me where her car was and to go and look. After viewing the car I knew that Janis was wrong about being broadsided because there was no damage to her car on either side.
After viewing her car at Dennis Hall's Body Shop I called Janis and told her that her car was not hit on either side her reply to me was " You're Looking At the Wrong Car". I knew then for sure that Janis had no idea at all how the accident occurred. The limping that is seen on TV in the Council chambers show that she was hurting,but its my opinion that it was not due to a medical condition but from the wreck.
While Council Member Wanda Halbert states that the council is a family and that she along with others on the council are going to help Janis,she needs to tell her big sister that it's time to face up to her problem,and come out of denial and get the needed treatment that is needed to defeat this sickness that could take her life or the life of others. Those of us who know and respect Janis but refuse to tell her the truth will as guilty as her she she kills herself or someone else. It's time for her friends to be true to her,love her, pray for her, but force her to face the truth about herself, Because Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Drunk.

Memfrica City Councilwoman Janis Fullilove said Monday she will seek therapy for an undisclosed medical problem involving consuming vast amounts of alcohol and pills.
"I am here today to let my friends, bartender, Buster's wine and spirits and constituents know that I am having some real tough, personal medical challenges right now," Fullilove said during an interview at City Hall. "These challenges are to the point where I am going to seek help. Quite simply I got caught drunk again and now look embecilic."
Fullilove, 58, said she does not have a drinking, fibbing, thieving or gambling problem.
She was involved in a late-night car crash May 2 in Tunica County, Miss., that injured a child and tore up a poor woamn's car. Fullilove will not be charged, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Memfrica Monkey Mayor Willie Herenton, a constituent and longtime friend of Fullilove's, sat in on the interview in the council's records room and offered coaching to Fullilove, motioning to the former TV and radio personality when to not answer questions.
"I really feel encouraged that she is recognizing that there are some challenges in telling the truth and admitting to being a damn drunk, we all have different kinds in our personal life," said the fifth-term mayor. "We love her and we are going to work with her and pray for her and she is going to be the highest caliber representative we've had in this district once she switches to Smirnoff and get off the Dark Eyes.
