Tonight I will appear on the national news program "The O'Reilly Factor" hosted by Bill O'Reilly. I will be discussing the rape dance video that was placed on YOUTUBE of students from Mitchell High School showing just how gross they can behave. Tune in at 7pm and 10pm on your cable station.
SIDENOTE: As I prepared for the taping I was informed by Reilly's people that Memphis City Schools Supt. Dan Ward did not want to do the interview with me. I wonder what "Old Man River" was scared of? Anyway Reilly has asked that I do his national radio show on tomorrow to discuss this issue.

Yes, it was wrong of the children to act out in such a behavior. On the other hand, I know we are closer to the same age, do you remember the DOG DANCE and all the other dances we did. You remember the old swing dances our mother & fathers did back in the day. Remember the Malcolm X movie where they swing, fly, jump, heck, turn the world upside down. Now, let me bring you to the current dances that is Ok for some, DIRTY DANCING, The New T.V. dance show in which Priscilla Presley was on a month ago. Some can elevate their own style of dancing yet, some can't embrace our. Sure, the kids was out of order but, you also need to go to some parties other than our own with kids the same age. You will see no difference. School, private party, tell me the difference. The only thing I see difference is that these KIDS WERE AT SCHOOL. I see the drinking of other races until they fall out. I see the kids throwing up, popping pills, rear ends in the boys faces with G-strings on, grinding in the laps. The young men can do whatever they please next, the girl screams RAPE. I DON'T THINK SO. We all must remember our ORIGIN. Dancing is and always will be a part of our CULTURE. The young one is dancing that way, BLACK & WHITE.

I am a recently retired teacher of Memphis City Schools. Parents, your children have you fooled (most of them). They act like animals at school. Please, just talk to them. Children from other cultures are learning.

As far as this 'Rape Dance' is concerned, don't be too hard on the kids. They are taking their moral signals from adults.
I suspect that most of these kids come from single parent homes (headed by women).
If they have siblings, the siblings likely have different daddies.
Their mothers have likely never been married and may have boyfriends over for all-night company and have sex within ear shot of the kids.
Topping it off is the fact that there are some Memphis city leaders who are morally challenged.
How many elected city leaders are baby mommas or baby daddys?
Take the Mayor himself. He makes a young woman pregnant and not only walks away but leaves her alone to have the baby. What a man.

I copied the above off of a web search page. In my judgment, it is far more distasteful than the dancing of Black kids in "public school" gyms. There are no quick fixes to these apparently complicated social problems. I think peopleof the seventies and earlier have forgotten how they behaved. I know I haven't.
I'm sorry, but I had to respond to some of the comments about Dan Ward. I am a white female who has worked for and with Dan Ward for over 25 years. He is one of the most intelligent and competent gentlemen I have ever known. I was ecstatic to know that he would serve as interim superintendent, and I only wish he would stay for at least 2 years. We have not had his level of competence anywhere near the helm since the arrival of Our Lady of Chapel Hill.
There is an old saying: It is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Mr. Ward understands and practices this philosophy. Some posters should consider doing the same.
