On Saturday at The Sidney Chism Annual Democratic Picnic Marion Latroy Williams candidate for County Trustee stated that all the citizens of Millington were either Nazis or members of the KKK.
This statement was made as the only democrat in the race current Trustee Paul Matila who lives in Millington stood by. Williams racial statements became so distasteful among the very fixed crowd that Chism told Williams to either control himself or leave. It was very apparent that electing Williams to even the position of dog catcher would be a disservice to man's best friend.
But what many of us at the picnic could not understand was how he could attack whites but yet walk around with White bodyguards. But then what does Williams have to fear that he is surrounding himself with unarmed security? Whose looking to do harm to him? Many are also wondering where the person who owes the Trustee's office $67,000 got the $250,000 that he brags that he loaned his political campaign. Did he acquire the money by some means that requires security?
Tomorrow i will post pictures of The Candlelight Dinner Building owned by Jimmy Williams with a large Paul Matila sign on the fence. If a man's brother doesn't support him why should anyone else?
The statement made by Williams should be remembered by all citizens both Black and White and neither group should give him a single vote

I think that Latroy only made things worse when he had Thaddeus served, Friday. That only brought more negative attention to him (Latroy). It also doesn't help that he (Latroy) is one of the most unattractive men I've ever seen. When you don't have it in the looks department, you have to make up for it somewhere else to attract the public's attention. Latroy, you better get real busy making up real fast!!

The majority who were present during that outrageous and threatening incident at the Chism picnic were not from Millington, not everyone was white. This guy should not even be a dog catcher,the animals would be in danger.

Divisiveness is the freaking problem with politics in Shelby County and Memphis.
Millington has it problems like most cities, but to say white citizens of Millington are all Nazis and members of the KKK is bullsh*t.
For Mr. Williams to slander Paul Matila and the City of Millington says a lot about his character. Maybe Mr. Williams should come out to board meetings in Millington and witness blacks in Millington are not dumb, stupid, blind, and cannot think for themselves when it comes to politics.
I personally look forward to meeting him at July 7 Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting to state his case as to why he is more qualified than Paul Matila.

Millington needs a lot of help! This time last week the commercial appaeal ran an article in the millington/tipton section over the candidates for millington mayor lashing out at the current mayor. If you read the article and click on the comments section, there were about 40 comments on the blog shedding some light on millington pd's corruption.
I'm from another part of the country and that back wood talking cotton picking masta slapping Latroy needs to find his place in the masta's whip line. I can't believe that people in this date and time are still using those old tactics and expect for someone to actually listen to them. There is a pretty large African American community in Millington. The suburbs around Millington are very diverse. The housing market there is not as exclusive as other parts of the county. The Navy base brings in a very diverse crowd of hardworking people. Go to some of the subdivisions south of Millington, you will find upper income African American Families who are certainly not in the KKK.
Millington Central High School is also one of the most diverse in the Shelby County School system. I would say it is about 50 white, 45 black, 5 other. This is a estimate, also majority of blacks who attend MCHS do live in Northhaven which is a predominantly black community near frasyer.
So this idea that everyone in Millington is in the KKK is absurd. When did working class white become KKK and Nazi.
Millington and Bartlett ARE largely racist, redneck communities, in my experience.
As is Memphis, except most of the racists in Memphis are Black.
