Here’s the bottom line(s) for me concerning Nikki Tinker:
1. No political substance
2. No platform – what does she really stand for?
3. No demonstrated grasp of the real issues facing that district
4. No political experience whatsoever – working in a campaign doesn’t qualify
5. No description of what “change” means
6. No debating skills – really bad news for a Lawyer
7. No demonstrated leadership ability – Tell me what she has lead…
8. No understanding of how to put together effective political adds
Change for the sake of change means nothing. I need to know what I’m changing to in order to make an informed decision. Tinker has provided the voters with none of that. It’s obvious to me that Tinker wants people to vote for her because she is Black. Period. Her ads are designed to appeal to Black voters almost exclusively.
Get with the program Tinker. Give the voters of the 9th District reasons to vote for you instead of manufacturing reasons to vote against Steve Cohen.
What a shame nobody likes her...I have no idea who she is but she's a smokin' hottie!

Wendi Thomas said it all in her column last week. I read all 65 of the comments left on the Commercial Appeals website concerning this and almost 100% of everyone on there agreed that Nikki Tinker looked like an unprepared fool during the debates and that she isn’t ready for Congress. All she has to run on is the fact that she is Black. That’s it. She doesn’t understand the issues; she hasn’t studied Cohen’s voting record, she is afraid to take the hard questions from journalists that she considers to be “unfair”. Face it; she isn’t tough enough to take on this job.
Plus, if Nikki was white we wouldn’t be discussing this at all. Her race is the only thing that makes her a factor in the first place.
