Nikki Tinker the candidate for the 9th Congressional District seat who stated in a live debate on Sunday night that she believes that the district which is made up of mostly Blacks should have at least one black congress person is being supported by a black preacher sending out hate mail against current congressman Steve Cohen.
Rev.George Brooks of Murfreesboro Tn (615-494-9056) is distributing literature supporting Tinker that states that because Cohen is a Jew he is Anti-Jesus. Brooks states that he's "one Black preacher who can and will get down in the street or even the gutter to make his point clear".
Knowing that Blacks have a strong feeling concerning their faith,Brooks implies that Jews killed Jesus and that the congressman is Anti- Christian.
In a second piece of literature Brooks attempts to send a message to the Black community that they should never vote for anyone other than another Black. His message states that if Memphis were predominantly Jewish and a Black was running against a Jew,that Jews would not support the Black candidate over the Jew. In both pieces of literature the message ends with "Elect Nikki Tinker For Congress".
The question must be asked why is a Black preacher from middle Tennessee concerned about Memphis politics,when there's not a black congress person from that area. Is Tinker and the Black group of Memphis Black preachers whose supporting her using Brooks to do their dirty work? Is brooks the pawn in the game of racist politics that from a distance can get his hands dirty while Memphis Black preachers support and maybe finance his efforts?
This is not the first time that Brooks has sent out hate literature in the name of Tinker who did not denounce him last year when Anti-Semitic material was sent out against Cohen. Is Tinker throwing darts of racism and hiding her hands? Does Tinker support Brooks? Will Tinker publicly denounce Brooks? I think not because Brooks is a part of a plan by Tinker and local Black Preachers to attempt to send a message to Black voters that they can not deliver themselves.

I am starting to agree with this a little more every day. It's very sad.
I think Tinker was pushed into teh race just to split the black vote and to weaken whatever progress comes to Memphis. Whatever personality flaws Cohen may have(not accusing him of being corrupt just to make it clear), he seems like the type to work hard for the people he represents while Tinker is just doing it to please her overseers. Of course these preachers are going to campaign for her so they can get their names out, but hopefully enough people will realize what's going on before it gets to bad.

The "unspoken sentence" in this entire episode of a "Jewish faith" citizen capturing a congressional seat in a predominately Black congressional district is... "Cohen is also counting on the ignorance of the District's Black majority to NOT understand their Christian faith enough to appreciate THEIR IMPLIED BLIND Christian support for the NATION of ISRAEL!"

Well, going into early voting after a pitiful performance in the Channel 3 debate, we should expect trash like this. We have seen what happens when Nikki Tinker speaks for herself! She comes across as an empty suit!
It's no wonder that Black Ministers speak for her. But, it seems to me, and the folks I speak with that this filth from the "Ministers" is just as bad. Let's see: They've tried 1)race, 2)homophobia, 3)Jesus, and 4) 'Hey folks, wake up!' Whether she speaks for herself, or she has others speaking for her, it's all bad.
At this point, here's what I think I know:
- Steve Cohen is a man who has produced for his city, both as a TN legislator and now a U.S. Congressman.
- Steve Cohen has gained national stature, always represents the 9th District well with national media an on CSPAN, and has performed well in his committee assignments in Congress.
- Joe Towns is an authentic guy who ought to run for something else rather than this position.
- Nikki Tinker is a fake. She has long avoided stating her positions, and when finally given a chance to tell voters what she will do, she fails miserably at the task.
- Nikki Tinker talks "change" but is perfectly willing to deal in the trash of dirty politics in the form of hate speech by Ministers.
- Nikki Tinker doesn't stand for anything. As best as I can see, she only stands on the porch waiting for the check.
- Nikki Tinker does not speak for me, or other black people I associate with. I'm concerned about the economy, mortgage foreclosures, failing banks, $600 million spent on the Iraq War (for nothing, when we could have spent the money here), lost jobs, rising energy and gas prices, the failure of our government to protect us from contaminated food, dangerous toys, failing bridges and infrastructure, etc. And, what about the shame of healthcare in this country!!! If you get sick, you might go broke! Look what happened to Johnny Carson's sidekick, Ed McMahon.

BTW, that was the highest ratio and number of Black enrollment at a formerly predominately WHITE university in the NATION at that time!
So "WHO" owes WHO, a What, For WHAT? The Hope lottery has a surplus of about $438 million. Most of that money was collected from the gambling habits of BLACKS in Shelby County not the RURAL counties of Tennessee where most of the $250 million in annual scholarships are sent.
