A republican source called me today to inform me that Shelby County Commissioner Mike Ritz a republican let it slip that the former chairman of the Shelby County Democratic Party Keith Norman is being courted to ran as a republican for County commission seat District 5 which is now held by Steve Mulroy.
This if true would not come as a surprise for the pastor of First Baptist Broad and former chair who only attended 1 meeting all of last year for the political group. Under his tenure the local party all but faded away. If Norman is being courted by republicans all democrats can say is 'Better ya'll then us"

What's the story here. Politicians switch parties as often as they switch lobbyists. They only care what gets them the job...then do whatever to keep it.

I don't believe that is true. Keith bit off more than he could chew by taking on the SCDP leadership and his ego wouldn't let him just admit it and resign.
However, he is not an idiot and even he should know that his best chance is to run against Mulroy is in the primary, tell everyone how Steve is a rich white leftie, more concerned with fags than normal people. Most of the primary voters are black and Norman could win. This is coming from someone who doesn't particularly like either one of them.
