Charles Carpenter the man who lead Willie Herenton to victory 5 times in his bid as mayor of Memphis will be my guest for 3 hours Wednesday on 'The Thaddeus Matthews Show". Carpenter who stated to me on Friday that's he's not scared of me will be asked tough questions where I expect direct answers without political correctness and attorney dancing.
In viewing those who attended his announcement on last week its a sure thing that A.C. Wharton does not have the keys to the city mayor's office yet. It is sure that Carpenter will have the organization and funds to run a campaign. But his biggest problem will be name recognition, While his name is known in political circles he's an unknown to many in the community.
While carpenter states that he's running his own campaign there is no doubt his association with Willie Herenton is going to hurt him with some voters. Carpenter committed to 3 hours on the show,in fact his aid placed it in his date book. So for three hours I will ask the tough questions and give you the chance as well. Mr. Matthews, how screwed up you seem to be. It appears that you have dumped Cohen in favor of Willie becoming the oldest freshman in congress yet here you are suggesting that Capenter will have a problem being so close to your new best friend, Willie Herenton. You really have me confused.

When white boys run for office their association to some of the dumbest white boys in the county-no problem, you don't hear a word from the media. You would think the Commerical Appeal is on strike.

Jim Rout association to Bill Morris
(Morris was INDICTED and left the county in hundreds of millions of dollars of debt and Rout carried into the billions). Herenton was right-Rout was about to be INDICTED also, (remember misuse of campaign funds and the pension deals with him and John Bobango).
Steve Stamson association to Kenneth Turner
(Turner did not go to work the last year on the county payroll and was signing documents from his home, could hardly see).
No one (i.e MEDIA never mentions Steve association to his wife, Debbie who should have also been INDICTED, for all that to go on in her office, she had to know something, probably too dumb to manage. Why hadn't the CA cried for her resignation?????????????
Bill Gibbons stands in a jive news conference and said she "fully cooperated". Typical Bill, protecting white and Republicans. What about all the mismangement in the office? How many people don't start to cooperate with an investigation? What was so damm great about that?

Thad, I love your show. You ask the tough questions, and the mainstream must recognize you. As far as Carpenter running for mayor. I would NEVER vote for him. As far as I am concerned he has been tainted by Herenton.

Charles Carpenter did not receive one of those $100,000 appointed position from Herenton. He's an humble man. He's new blood, he desires a fighting chance.

If you really want to get pass each candidate's public image and get a true reading on his/her character to determine who this person is really all about; do your research.Integrity,honesty,loyalty and commitment began at home.If these attributes are not practiced in the home,then, we are only dealing with an image(false self), not the geniune being. And in my opinion,that is not considered a good person,only self serving.Because you can not display one character in the home and have a different one, in public. However, it never fells, the pblic always buy into the public image, because it's the one that is more marketable. Do your homework, we can not afford to put another person in office who lacks integrity and honesty. Peace and unity is what God authorized!!

That picture was in the Commercial Appeal back in the nineties when Matthews was doing yards. Again in the Commercial Appeal in June of this year.
Thaddeus, why are you afraid to publish your misdeeds when you are called. You seem to relish being a misfit.
If Carpenter is to have any kind of chance, any kind of political future, he needs to disassociate himself from Willie Herenton in the strongest way possible.

The vast majority of my employees are white....I am a female design engineer at a major company. Yes white people, I hire you mother's, father's, son's and daughters...I am highly educated...let's not get off track....back to Mr. Carpenter...sir, my employees where estatic...to the point it was almost insulting...!!! Most live in Memphis....3 in the county...but ALL OF THEM SAID THAT AC WHARTON comes across as if he wants to be white....and it's really a joke to them...they spoke of how he comes to the ZOO events...$300.00 a head luncheons...he does not interact with his race unless you are an attorney, or judge...a black w/some status as he see it...but will go out of his to entertain the whites. Sad but true....but what he doesn't realize is that the majority of the people there didn't pay for the ticket! Hell the employees give them away b/c don't NOBODY HAVE NO DAMN MONEY TO WASTE ON $300.00 A PLATE LUNCHEONS!!! It's a shame b/c our race is beautiful race!!!

Thaddeus, one of my employees told me that AC WHARTON named one of his son after Lamar Alexander....please investigate that!!! If this is true.....well need I say more....all I can say is damn another one bit the dust.

Some poster posted the above. I wouldn't get near, much less vote for, anyone that was within ten feet of Willie. This bozo was the campaign manager for the most racist mayor this city has ever had roosting in city hall with all of those ex cons and near worthless associates of Willie, which includes Carpenter.
My bet is that the rip offs by Spence, the mayor's Lawyer Calhoun, pale by comparison to this new Lawyer Calhoun. Will Willie hang around as the Kingfish?
Things are falling in line for an exciting race for mayor in the city of Memphis. There will be a few mediocore candidates plus some worthless candidates. Memphis had some great mayors in the past, but that era is long gone.
It's time to see what people really think.
