A.C.Wharton III is free to rape again and there is nothing that can be done about it. The judge in the Wharton III case should be impeached and removed from the bench. But did you know that there is a Shelby County General Sessions Court so incompetent and corrupt that he refused to arrest a defendant with an active arrest warrant during a hearing in his court but instead let the defendant remain free on bond and then put the poor man on fugitive status as soon as the man left his courtroom? Too much of this insanity is happening in our criminal justice system.
What about the Federal Laws he broke? Can't something be done by the FBI to put this child rapist behind bars? I urge everyone to ask their Congressman. The Feds can take his ass down. Where's Chris Hansen? Let's get this to the national news level Thad, YOU CAN DO IT!

Wharton and Ruby are honest, decent people. I am certain that they are sorry about the actions of their son. However, they are not responsible for those actions, just as your parents are not responsible for you coughing, and sneezing into the microphone everyday. The Whatton III decree in the Knoxville statutory rape case should make us all realize that there is no such thing as justice in the State of Tennessee. Tennessee judges are allowed to make stupid and absurd rulings all the time with impunity, but most of the time it is the defendant who gets screwed. Consider this ruling that came out of Shelby County General Sessions Court on August 21: A mentally ill woman who had filed a false affidavit with MPD testified in open court that her former boyfriend drove up in broad daylight in June and fired several gunshots at her house. But she stated that all of the shots missed the house and that she was the only one of four persons in the house that heard the shots. Now it was obvious that the woman had fabricated the story to get back at her boyfriend for breaking up with her, but the judge's ruling was one for the ages: Dismiss two of the aggravated assault charges against the defendant because two of the residents did not hear the alleged shots. Hold the defendant to the state because the accuser says she heard the shots and that maybe a second resident heard the shots.
There was never a police investigation in this case and the woman never even called 9-1-1 to report the phantom incident, even waiting an entire week before she went to the police. Looking for justice in Shelby County and the State of Tennessee? Forget it! There are entirely too many incompetent and corrupt judges on the bench.
For A C Wharton to even be running for Mayor says a lot about our society here in Memphis Tennesse. In most other communities he would never have put his name on a ballot for any public office. I have no respect for the local media after they gave A C Wharton a pass on what his son did. If it had been a son of yours are mine we would not have been able to get out of our front door without a news reporter in our face.
The A.C. Wharton III statutory rape case ruling is probably what sexual predators have been seeking for a long time. What the court is saying is that a 34-year-old man having sexual intercourse with a 13-year old female is now acceptable in our society, and the defendant, the rapist need not spend any prison time for the crime. Other sexual predators will now be seeking the same deal Wharton III got if they are caught up in this kind of sex crime. In this bizarre Wharton III case, the punishment comes nowhere close to fitting the crime and this ruling should be, but cannot be, overturned. My God, in looking at the outcome of this case, you would think that Wharton III had been found guilty of something like shoplifting. He is indeed fortunate that his father is the mayor of Shelby County, A. C. Wharton Jr., who pulled the necessary strings to get his son off the hook. Wharton III has got to be the luckiest sexual predator in America and hopefully he will never again target underage females for his perverted sexual desires.

Thaddeus, rape of a child requires a victim 12 years old or less. This victim was 13.
There was no reduction to a lesser charge. Judicial diversion was granted for the minimum term of 2 years for the Class D felony of aggravated STATUTORY rape.

When I think of the old TV program, Sanford and son, it reminds me of Sanford and his domineering and screechy girl friend pointing her finger in the air while giving Sanford hell.
