Before contacting Claudine Marsh the mother of Willie Herenton's infant son Michael In an effort to embarrass him and use the former mayor child to gain political mileage during the upcoming mayor's election his foes should have checked their facts.
The CA in an editorial stated that it was a fact that since Herenton had left the city's employment his 5-year old son no longer had health insurance. This fact as the CA calls it was solely based on the word of a mother who on her own accord moved from Memphis to Cobb County Ga. The CA stated that the former mayor did not visit the child but never called the woman on the fact that she made visits hard by moving to another state.
On Wednesday Herenton supplied me with a letter that shows that neither the CA or Claudine Marsh had their facts correct. The letter from Pearl Gibson, Benefits Officer for the City of Memphis states that there has been no break in group health insurance for participants Willie Herenton and dependent Michael Herenton. Not only has there never been a break in coverage for Herenton's son but he recently added the 5 year old as a irrevocable beneficiary on several life insurance policies,and that an education savings account has also been set up. Seems as though this plan to tarnish WW didn't work did it Myron?

Matthews, was it a term policy or a whole life policy?
Matthews, what do you mean by "irrevocable"? I never heard, outside of a court order, of an insurance policy that would pay off if the prememiums were not paid unless it were a fully paid policy for which not many people would have if quantified as "several".
Matthews, neither you or Willie have proven noththing. The FBI is working on that.
Willie is in this mess for a lot of reasons with the main being that he only looked at the superficial qualities in Claudine Marsh. He ignored the fact that she had no real job skills which could cause problems for him on that basis alone.
Marsh's recent legal actions against Herenton obviously demonstrate that she's still angry that he didn't marry her. Making matters worse is that after dragging his feet when it came to helping her in other ways, he was more than happy to help her get out of town.
