It has been stated by many in county government that A.C. Wharton is not as squeaky clean as projected by his handlers and that he has more in common with Willie Herenton then he wants to admit and that he also has fathered a child at an old age.
On Wednesday morning when employees of KWAM radio arrived to work there was a seal package wrapped in plastic so as not to get wet addressed to me. When I arrived at the station much later in the day and opened the package I found a stack of court documents containing all the information on 34 year old A.C. Wharton III who plead guilty of raping a 13 year old White female in Knox County and placed on diversion without doing jail time or having to register as a sex offender.
As I continued to thumb through the documents another document leaped out at me. The document stated that County mayor A.C. Wharton fathered a child with a woman by the name of Kelly Rayne. I don't know this information to be factual but I do know that I have her her name in the past regarding the rumor of Wharton having a child by a White woman.
After doing some checking I did find out that Rayne is in fact an county employee who works very close to Wharton. She serves as his "Special Assistant" The woman who was born in Quakertown Pennsylvania on February 19,1969 in 2007 when Wharton was passing out raises to his appointed cronies received the highest increase in salary. In fact she received a $14,808 per year increase.(DAMN SHE MUST BE GOOD AT HER JOB)
So the question becomes is Wharton a good pappy? If this info is true does he have the child insured? If this is true does Wharton visit the child? I know these questions mean nothing to many of you because it's A.C. and not Willie Herenton.

I believe Thad would do a much better service for Carpenter if he focused on why we should vote FOR Carpenter rather that why we should be AGAINST somebody else.
I have spoken to a couple of people that I truly respect in regards to Charles Carpenter. Both have vouched for him and regard him a very capable candidate. I do understand, in a way, Carpenter teaming up with Thad but I still can't vote for Carpenter because of this partnership.
A part of it is to protect Carpenter from Matthews. There is no way that Memphis can be even remotely successful ran how Matthews would like it ran, i.e. catering solely to poor blacks. Carpenter, I believe, realizes this and would govern in order to make the city competitive nationally. Matthews will not like this and will turn on Carpenter in a heartbeat. Matthews would then spend the rest of the term badmouthing and bringing up dirt. Until the next desperate politician drops him some dough. I honestly believe that if Sharon Webb had enough money she could have bought Matthews endorsement.
In closing, I feel that Carpenter is not a bad candidate but his partnering with Matthews is a grave mistake. Even if he wins, Matthews will be a thorn in his side because Thad will take all the credit for the victory and would want something in return or else.
