IT'S NOT OVER YET CARPENTER WILL RUN AGAIN IN 2011

Attorney Charles Carpenter only received 5% of the vote in Thursday's mayoral race garnering a little over 5100 votes. The virtually unknown candidate fared better then others who had greater name presence basically because of his message and the push he received from my radio show.

Carpenter knew going in that he faced such obstacles as his association with Willie Herenton and some of the legal issues haunting him. He also knew that those who supported Wharton would use this association against him. But never the less Carpenter is preparing to gear up for another race by forming his own base and maintaining a presence in the community.

Even with my push the Wharton name rang the loudest due to the fact that he had the local media as his marketing firm and plenty of money to shake the bell. Wharton has been running and raising campaign funds for the last two years, Or every since a deal was cut in a midtown eatery between Wharton and Herenton.

Now we get to see if Wharton is his own man or whether he will follow the script given him by his handlers. I predict that he has already been told to keep Jack Sammons in place as CAO so that he does not have the chance to violate the wishes of those who control him. Also Wharton will hold on to Larry Godwin as police director because he has no choice.

As for those who say that Carpenter's association with me destroyed his chances at becoming mayor i beg to differ. Carpenter's voice and position got it's greatest exposure on my show, in fact had it not been for the show he most likely would have registered in the 1% colum that some with a bigger name then him registered in, such as Wanda Halbert, Jerry Lawler, Kenneth Whalum.

So we didn't win this time.yesterday in behind us and 2011 is in view I will continue to support Carpenter giving him an outlet to express himself and to present his views on what is needed to make Memphis a better place. The next two years also gives Carpenter the chance to build a war chest to take on Wharton and his handlers...And I think the next two years of Wharton will make a win easy in 2011.

Sorry fella, but the days of having racist mayors (black and white) are over with. Unless Charlie learns to stop being a hater (like you) of folks who aren't black, he ain't gonna make it in this DIVERSE city.

Congratulations Mayor AC Wharton and to the good man who came in second place, Myron Lowery!!!

In your post you say "Carpenter's voice and position got it's greatest exposure on my show." You are correct. And it is that very thing that got him beat. Carpenter did not have anything to offer. He came across as a typical person running for office. No ideas, just a bunch of ass kissing to get votes. Being on your radio show got him a few crack-head votes but most of your listeners are felons and can't vote anyway. Plus with you backing him, it turned some voters away from him, including me. In the beginning, I wanted to give him a chance but after hearing you dog the other candidates and backing Carpenter, I had to ask myself if his philosophy is like yours. The only answer I could come up with is that yeah, it is. I am one of the few who actually voted for Stegall. I thought he would be a bit of fresh air from these same old tired candidates. I knew he couldn't win but I feel better personally for it. Anyway, I hope in the future, you won't ruin someones chances of getting elected because of you divisive nature and that a candidate won't ruin his/her chances by coming, repeatedly, on your show the way Carpenter did. As far as 2011 goes, he needs to remember.....first impressions are lasting impressions and he has alot of work to do to distance himself from peoples like you and Herenton.

Carpenter will be wasting his money to run in the next election.
Nobody is going to vote for a Henrendon cronie. We are sick to death of the dishonest thievery
that Willie carried on. A.C needs to be his own man, reunite Memphians. That does not mean a all black administrative staff. Like it or not Jack Sammons is a sharp, seasoned individual that could help the public learn to trust city government. With a little luck and finally good leadership people may stop leaving this city in droves. Hmmmmmm.......
what did Willie say "bye, bye". Well guess what dummy, these people were taking their tax dollars with them. I disagree with Willie....Myron did a fabulous job as interim mayor. Myron was too honest for King Willie. W.W saw him as a threat. The public is thrilled to have Myron back as a councilman. We know he will do the right thing. Good luck AC! Willie is wrong, his statement "AC needs to thank me for not running. He would have lost if he ran against me". You are wrong old fool. The public has your number. Your political future is OVER!!

Quit wasting your time. What this election proved was that Thaddeus Mattews has no political power in this city. Charles received just about as many votes as listen to your show. You may think that everyone downtown is listening but they really aren't. If the rating were there, you wouldn't be selling ads on a cash basis to the little companies. You are a non-factor in the local media. And change the name of TMU to TMCC. Your teaching is more in line with a community college than a university.

Matthews, you are nothing more than a Sharpton, Jackson wannabe. Only problem is, you aren't nearly as smart as either one of them and apparently, the black community of Memphis is not nearly as racist as I thought they were and smart enough to know a race pimp when they see one. People like you are the reason this city remains racially divided but, then again, if it wasn't, you and Wendi Thomas would be out of work. Yesterday's election proved that their is still hope for this city. God bless all of the black citizens who do not buy into your racist garbage.

Anonymous said...

Thad..you can watch the little ratings you do have slowly wither away. Now that you are not pimpin Charles Carpenter you now need a new Trick and assholes are born everyday so I'm sure some other sucker candidate will be advertising on your show. As you "claim" to be the voice of the black people...HA!

One again the citizens of Memphis have shown that their true interest in "Memphis Politics".

By staying away from polls, the citizens showed everyone seeking this position, how upset they were with this election.

Maybe the citizens of Memphis will appear during the 2011 Mayoral election. But right not, it is what it is.

Congratulations to A.C. Wharton for winning the election. But beware, the citizens of Memphis will be watching your every move.

So what have we now got for mayor?
Nothing but a mildewed man that the late comedian Moms Mabley could not stand. Let's face it: A. C. Wharton's best days are behind him and, at 65, he can only live in the past and let younger men take take up the slack. He is something like the college football coaches Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno, just standing on the sidelines staring into space, not really doing any coaching. If he remains mayor for six years, he will be pushing 73 when he leaves office. Whatever happened to the youth revolution that was supposed to turn this city around? Why do we have all these old men from the dinosaur period hanging on like mildew? Like Moms Mabley used to lament: "Can't no old man do nothing for me. He can't do nothing for his self." What can an old man do for Memphis?

I hope Mayor Wharton has enough sense to look into larry godwin's past history with the MPD. Mayor Wharton kept repeating ETHICS in his administration. If Mayor Wharton does really mean that it is no way possible that he could retain godwin as director. The facts are there in black and white in godwin's personnel file why he shouldn't be retained.

godwin was on the news stating that he has his resume in his desk drawer.I wonder if Carol Stacks will be used as a reference?

I hope other people will let it be known to Mayor Wharton what kind of person godwin really is.

The facts are that godwin does not have the education, an on-line degree, or has the moral character to be director. It would be a slap in the face of Mayor Wharton to keep him when there are numerous qualified people for the job.

If godwin came from another police department with a personnel file like his he couldn't get a job with the MPD.

Yes it is over and it will remain over for Carpenter. The boring 3 hour Charles Carpenter infomercials you aired where you did your damnedest to discredit and embarrass Wharton and Lowery were laughable and pathetic. Sure your “show” gave Carpenter a few votes he wouldn’t have received otherwise. But what does that say about the viability of his candidacy if he has to turn to a rude, foul mouthed shock-jock (less face it that’s all you really are) to beg for votes for him? Very little of what you or Carpenter said resonated with anyone other than a small handful of the poor and undereducated populations of North and South Memphis.

How many pieces of silver did Carpenter line your pockets with to use a platform to bash his opponents? Are we to assume that you did it for free because you felt that Carpenter was the best candidate? You are a hypocrite Mathews because you “supported” a Herrington clone. I guess you would like for us to forget that you tried to run Herrington out of office a while back, yet you tried to get a man elected who is basically Willie Herrington with a beard and a law degree. Also, why didn’t Herrington campaign for Carpenter if he was so great? I guess we will never hear you answer that question. The last time I had the displeasure of tuning into your show and Willie was your guest, you were so busy using him to bash Wharton and others and prop up Carpenter that you couldn’t (or wouldn’t) bring Herrington to task for all the mistakes he has made in office. Mistakes that YOU tried to get him recalled for!

Having said all that, I take my final leave of this blog and listening to your show. I’m personally appalled at the way you treat some of your listeners and guests and anyone you happen to disagree with. Perhaps someone should devote a 3 hour show to examining your background and character to see what kind of talk show personality your audience is really getting their “news” and “information” from.

Adios Thuddeuas! (Misspelled intentionally)

I spoke with many co-workers, family and friends regarding this election. Despite the low turn out...A lot of people were impressed with Carpenter and definitely listened to what he had to say. Thad, it isn't over...you are right. Who knows what the turnout will be during the next election. Carpenter may just be a force to be reckoned with. As for A.C., people don't trust A.C....but because he has already been in the position of Mayor, people are more comfortable with him. Lowery, messed himself up BIG time. His approach to cleaning up the Herenton Administrat was obviously not thoroughly thought out. He made himself look like an arrogant butt hole. His attack on the people of color "ONLY" put a bad taste in many mouths. As for Herenton, I personally liked him. No, I didn't agree with all he did and had to say but overall I liked him. He didn't allow other people's opinion of others or him sway his thinking. When you are direct as he is, some people will tend to label you arrogant. The true word to describe him would be confident. He is a very confident man...both in his abilities and his vision. Like it or not...He is smart as hell! You have to Give credit where it's due. So now some people have gotten what they think they wanted. Let's see what the census will be in 2yrs. with A.C. being in office. My guess, very little would have changed...outside the faces in Administration.

This is a shout out for help. Please do a session about MLGW trying to get Smart Grid in the 6 zip codes that are largely minorities. This will impact the people who can least afford it. This Smart Grid program is just like a demand meter where you are charged at a higher rate during peak times; just like a commercial customer. The zip code areas are 38104, 38106, 38108, 38111, 38114, and 38122. Please notice there are no suburban areas included such as where Jerry Collins resides. Please Thad, if you can educate the people.

Anyone of the mayoral candidates will be a fool to run against A C Wharton again. It has been proven that they all combined couldn't beat him. The only person having a chance to beat him is Willie Herenton. One of Charles Carpenter's downfall was that he didn't have any white support. You can't win in memphis without any white votes. It looks like A C will be the mayor until he retires.

Anonymous said...

Let's all hope that we don't have to experience some wild ass claims about the honesty of Willie Herenton and outlandish knocking of Steve Cohen, whom Thaddeus was once his big supporter, for the better part of next year as Thaddeus fights jail time with the hope of starting another racial divide in his run for congress. Wonder if Willie will use Charles Carpenter as his manager again. Charles certainly kept his mouth shut insofar as his affiliation with Willie as he wasted all that rip off money he obtained from the taxpayers.

The only hope that can come from Thug's backing of Willie Herenton is that it will do Herenton more harm than good as was the case of Thug's support of Charles Carpenter.

"As for those who say that Carpenter's association with me destroyed his chances at becoming mayor i beg to differ."

I agree Thaddeus. Carpenter's problem is that the powers that be in this city wanted Wharton no matter what. Everytime the Commercial Appeal ran a negative story about Willie Herenton and his business dealings, it found a way to also mention Charles Carpenter. As a result, black and white folk alike considered Wharton the safe choice.

The dirt on Wharton is going to have to get real bad before the Memphis media turns on him. So long as he continues to be the good negro, he'll be alright. His son is free to rape a few more young white girls (so long as they are poor white trash living in a trailer) and everything will be okay.

Carpenter votes would have been in the hundreds had it not been for your show. The powerful in Memphis as well as the Memphis media wanted Wharton who ironically didn't have the courage to run against Herenton himself.

Anonymous said...

I hope, if Carpenter is serious and passionate about this city he does in fact use this time to introduce himself to the electorate anhd run again. His platform is very simular to that of other black mayors that have made progress in moving both the represented city forward and the large under classes within it.

My partner says that many of his biker buds never heard of him( Carpenter) when they voted or knew nothing of the deal Wharton's son obtained - a deal which says to all that he is nothing but chattel.

I think the plan is for Memphis to become the slave to the surrounding counties and the ploblems of her children and young adults will not be a consideration.

But if Black folk don't start caring about their own lives and the lives of their neighbors by making the effort to be informed and to vote- the future of those yet to cross-over the ( proverty, crime, illiteracy) line is in jepordy of permanently being those " Faces at the Bottom of the Well" as articulated by Derrick Bell.

Brother Thaddeus:

Mr. Carpenter would do well if maybe he could take on a few contoversial cases, in either the criminal or civil areas. It is obvious he needs to make a living, but he does need some larger publicity in the Afro American community. I believe he is a sincere man.

We as a people are going to have to unify ourselves to get behind one candidate. The white man has set all these other misguided brothers, house negroes and white clowns into the field to confuse the issue. Some of these people had backing from the white beast which I will attempt to disclose as time goes on. You yourself know that some of these people had campaign signs and paraphenalia that they should not have been able to afford! They were plants and deceivers sent in by the white man. We blinked!

In other parts of the world, the only way our people ran the white beasts out was when we came together as a group. The Congo, South Africa, India, and the middle eastern countries are prime examples. The election of Dr. Herenton was another.

The only reason Wharton won like he did is because of exactly what you have said over and over again....money from the white beast and all of this confusion thrown in by the white man. For the next 2 years our people and those like us, the disposessed and those that have no voice, are going to find that the days of the past are coming back, slowly but surely.

We blinked and the white devil beast slipped his "pet" in. We doze again and we are going to go back to the "yessa boss" days! Even in this time and day we still are threatened in our right to exist.

Thaddeus, concerning Mr. Carpenters chance at winning in 2012, the thing is, if Mayor Wharton performances is good I foresee a second term, if his performance is bad or seen as shiftless or without passion to get the real work done then Mr. Carpenter like others will have their chance at it again, however Mr. Carpenter also must not centralize himself as just the Black candidate or he will lose again, being the black candidate mean absolutely nothing anymore, I telling you Thad, people are sick of giving our officials a pass for bad performances black and white....people want results, and if Mayor Wharton wants to keep his job he as to work for it, we need workable solutions to everyday problems, to me being a black candidate means squat unless it is back up with results, I mean people are screaming about the school system and how badly it is ran, and of how you cannot walk around safe anymore without something bad happening, we need a environment to grow, and an environment to help us help ourselves, and if Mayor Wharton can’t keep pace with the program in a applying workable solution to our problems and Mr. Carpenter can come up with and speak to our problems, I believe Memphis just might hear him out, but that’s only if Mayor Wharton is not successful in his efforts, of which I fully expect him to be, and I would like to tell me Carpenter this …..Mr. Carpenter we are not looking for a rerun of Willie Herenton we needed a good quarterback who can move the ball further down the field and change Memphis and therefore change its image, I felt like you would have been a rerun, and was not capable of moving the ball down the line of scrimmage to the in zone, Memphis needs a touchdown and I believe in winning, however if we chose the wrong quarterback of which we will soon see, please, by all means reapply.

Right on brother! When I heard CC was associated with TM, I tuned his ass right out.

Congratulations to the winner, Mayor Wharton and Mr. Lowery, the man who came in 2nd place!

And I bet you are a Herenton supporter too and don't have any problem with Willie's old ass running for Congress next year but have a problem with Wharton's age today? FY!!!

Let me tell you again, stop being a damn hypocrite. Look in the mirror before you open your mouth next time...starting to get on my nerves. Do some research on this century's age expectancy fool and grow the hell up already.

Thad, you are loosing so much credibility during this election I almost feel bad for you. You are stepping and fetching for Willie, who has done the black community so much damage they may never recover, to now backing one of Willie's hand puppets, Carpenter.

You should go visit the graves of all these black kids and young adults who were killed under Willie's administration and apologize for supporting the man who allowed it to happen and did nothing to prevent it.

Is it any surprise, a city comprised mostly of blacks, under black leadership, had degraded to this point we have to have commercials on TV asking them to "Chill, don't Kill" and we have to gaze a billboards all around the city with similar messages. Additionally, Memphis has become a regular on the first 48 and always ranks in the top 10 most viloent cities.

Elbert Jefferson has resigned as city attorney and Mayor Pro Tom Myron Lowery is hot as a hog in heat because the letter of resignation was submitted to mayor-elect A. C. Wharton instead of the prime time porker. The Fat Man of Memphis, quivering with rage over this insult, squealed that as far as he knows, plantation boss Bill Gibbons still plans to pursue his silly ouster suit in stooge James Lammey's kangaroo court on Monday. But how do you petition for somebody's ouster when they are already out? Probably the bitter orca, stunned by the election results, and Gibbons still want the ass of Robert Spence and the head of Willie Herenton delivered to them on a platter, something that Jefferson has refused to help them receive.

Well, Uncle A.C. has the reigns. Let's see if he can be the "unifier" that most seem to believe that he is. Already the suburban mayors are balking at this latest attempt to consolidate city and county government even if they are allowed to maintain their charters. Most white folks in these tiny towns want nothing to do with Memphis, it's government, schools or people. Just because Uncle A.C. and his corporate benefactors demand it doesn't mean they will get it. One thing that i'm sure will happen during his stay is the steady and gradual disintegration and erosion of black economic and political power that's been amassed during the last eighteen years. Especially as it relates to government contracts and appointments. Take it to the bank. Uncle A.C. is a pleasant enough fellow but just like so many of us in the past he is too willing to ingratiate, appease and curry favor from the white power structure at the expense of the now majority African-American community in this city. We will need another "consensus" candidate in 2011 if we are to defeat this current municipal takeover. I just hope that he doesn't do too much damage in the next two years.

Carpenter will NEVER be the mayor of Memphis. Carpenter is probably a smart guy, but he does not have the political savvy that people are going to be comfortable with. He comes off as ghetto and country. King Willie and Wharton have a few things in common...they are both smart, they are both confident and they both have a certain amount of swagger. Another thing that was in Wharton's favor is that he has "white people appeal", they are not afraid of him and does not mind doing business with him because he is going to handle business with class and dignity.

Lorene Essex got more votes than Carpenter and she is a moroon. Damn what happened to Wonder Scalpert in the election. Did she get her eyes or thighs fixed? Thad, I see why you sell your ads so cheap, you only have 5100 people listening to you. Also, when you talk your breathe smells like you brushed your teeth with a turd. Thad please stop calling Myron Lowery fat, obviously you don't take a bath, if so, you will find that you are a whale.

"The only person having a chance to beat him is Willie Herenton."

I will go along with how sorry the candidates were in this recent race including A. C. Wharton, but they have been sorry in most of the recent larger screwed up metropolitan areas in the last decade. Not only hear, but anywhere they let the vote be open to anyone.

But Willie is our problem here. It's unfortunate that we have such stupid voters that would vote for him, but he won his last election by far less than the majority. AC, with 60% did far better than Willie, but then Wharton was running against some real losers.
Also one of the big losers, Charles Carpenter, was supported by Thaddeus Matthews which was a killer for one of Willie's boys, you know, Charles Carpenter. Then there was Rev Whalwm, a real jerk.
It's too bad some better candidates than those who ran are not around. They are in jail.

11:03 PM

If Wharton keeps Godwin then he is can hang it up in 2011. Safety is the number one concern for people in this city, keeping Godwin as Police Director will do nothing to improve this. Crime will continue to rise and Memphis will continue to be listed at the top the FBI list of most dangerous and violate cities in the nation, all while Godwin hold press conferences and tell everyone that crime is down and Blue Crush is working. I hope A.C. does not fall for this, I hope that he is smart enough to do something that Herenton wouldn't do, and that is listen to the people in the community or some of the law enforcement officers on the job. Better yet, ask Godwin why does he believe that crime is down in this city when the FBI says that crime is up. Finally, ask him why 90% of his officer does not has confidence in his ability to lead.

Carpenter waa a competent candidate as far as presentation and talking the talk. However, there were two thing that ruled out my voting for him. First, when he and Lawler had the debate on Thad's show and he avoided like the plague answering the question of how much money he made from the city. Finally, after nearly an hour of prodding he came out with some seriously low-balled numbers for bond servicing. It was literally the equivalent of mechanic quoting he rebuilds engines for $20. Evidently, he did not want the audience to know that the city of Memphis had made him a multi-millionaire. Carpenter claimed to be a business man yet had no idea, not even a ballpark figure on how much he made off his biggest and only client. That was not credible.

And of course you have the Thad factor. Matthews is good in what he does, no one can deny that. Unfortunately he succumbs to such low brow actions that only a certain segment of the popu;ation buys into it. The rest listen to the show for guilty pleasure reasons. Case in point, look at the posts of Carpenter supporters, they are mostly filled with profanities and name calling. These were the type of people Carpenter was attracting. Better luck next time, Mr. Carpenter.

You would never know. IT is obvious that the closest you have ever been was when the garbage truck was toting you on the rear platform, you might have passed a Fed Ex truck on the street.

Your message is probably a clone of the type messages Thaddeus receives from his sources, just some dreamed up garbage.

Hope Wharton does keep Sammons and Godwin, one can clean up city hall and the other can go after those creeps that are all over the city of Memphis making it more dangerous than any area in the world. It's just too bad that the yellow fever epidemic didn't do it's job.

Maybe Wharton can withhold the flu vaccine from a few of the high crime zip code areas.

"only 25% of the city voted....U can't really say that this is a big win....kinda hard to win, when every media outlet had already crowned AC the winner 2 months ago"

1:17 PM

It's not "kinda hard to" predict a winner when you see a bunch of lousy candidates with nothing going in their lives that would make any voter even want to appear next to them in a crowd.

Starting with Herenton, the voters experienced some real crap from worthless thieving candidates that found it was easy to sucker voters to their shady environment. Especially in metropolitan areas, Memphis included, you found the lowest of the low running for office, winning, placed under indictment with many jailed.

No one had a chance against Wharton, many said he was ineffective as mayor of the county, but look at the mediocre competition.

Then to, a garbage campaign by Thaddeus Matthews, an unachieving lout who speaks filth on his radio program, says what pleases his warped mind. Being judgement proof, he gets away with his filth and finds candidates who pay him small dollars whioh only brought them defeat far worse than they could have realistically expected.

what I don't understand is how we was so upset about the white radio host calling the black women who played basketball nappy headed whores yet we let thaddeus say anything he chooses to. just take everything he says racist an use the word black lnstead of white an you will see how he sounds. Until this becomes a city that is not a black city or a white city but just a good, clean city with a low crime rate we will not prosper. We will always have things that we can improve on just as any other city. But we can try to respect each others race an realize that god made us all. We have just had an election that had many different people an many idea's. But we can only elect one person an no matter who we voted for the winner is all of our mayor. 9:03 p.m., you miss the point completely. Life expectancy or no life expectancy, all of these old men, including Willie Herenton, should now get out of the way and let younger men with more energy and young ideas take over. A. C. Wharton is just another mildewed, moldy old man that makes the political scene here in Memphis look like a retirement home. Get rid of these old relics so Memphis can move forward. Get rid of all these old men. Moms Mabley was absolutely right when she said: "Can't no old man do nothing for me. He can't do nothing for his self." Now just watch how the minds of these old men as well as their bodies begin to deteriorate under pressure. Look at John McCain, for example. He had become so old and his mind so deteriorated that he tried to sell us the lie that the incompetent bird brain Sarah Palin would be qualified to be president of the United States. Heed the wisdom of Moms Mabley: "We are slowly deteriorating with them old men. They can't do nothing, ain't gonna let you do nothing."

There are more churches in Memphis than almost in any city in the US. Thad is a preacher assasin ( at least he tries to - all the time!). Therefore, he will never be more than an entertainer, because the majority of the people (true Christians) wont take his lead on anything. Larry Godwins says that crime is down 17% since 2006. But he failed to tell you that crime increased 19.8% his first year. The reason was that he eliminated the major violator's team in the Organized Crime Unit, the Buy And Bust Team in the Organized Crime Unit, the Dare program, the Crime Prevention Unit, The Metro Gang Unit and other programs. He did all this in favor of Blue Crush. No wonder we are one of the most dangerous cities.

The same ignorant and vulgar type that supported Willie when he last ran for mayor and he received 33% of the vote. If you want to identify yourself with this group, then join them when Willie runs for congress. If you do so, you are undoubtedly uneducated with very little confidence in yourself insofar as to achieve anything on your own.

Join the haves, gain self respect and go for a candidate that wont steal you blind. Stay away from Willie. He is a total embarassment and would make Memphis out to be the home of half baked idiots.

I believe you could do better... and I hope you will in the future.

Thad, the Buehler Homes situation gives evidence of the ignorance of the elected officials in city and county government. AC Wharton does not have a problem with giving property to Buehler even though he is delinquent in taxes. I see now why Memphis and Shelby County has a problem getting businesses to locate in Memphis. The politicians in this area are not good citizens of the tax payers money. Mr. Buehler is running a pyramid scheme. If he is collecting rent on all of these properties where is the money going. Most of these homes are probably section 8 and the Federal Government should take a look at this situation. Thad I am so sick of our people wanting something for nothing. I think that all of these government handouts has hurt the black community.

Brother Thaddeus:
You should have your readers show some courtesy and respect for our brother Mr. Reginald French.

By his own hand he has made something of himself in this community which, should be emulated by all young Afro American men.

He has his own business. He pays his taxes. He has a wonderful family which encourages and supports him. He is both articulate and educated. He is welcomed in all segments of our city. He has never left behind his friends in the Afro American community even when they were challenged by fraudulent charges and accusation by the white beast.
What more could one ask in a role model in the Afro American community?
Dr. Herenton has on every occasion pointed out Mr. French's efforts toward his re-election, by an overwhelming majority I might add.
Young men like Mr. French are unafraid to stand up to the white man and his judas, blood money.

To ridicule or make light of Mr. French's accomplishments with slander and untruths, is almost a sin. The white beast is behind all untruth and deceit.
He is without a doubt the strong, young, Afro American man we need to come forward and lead! He is the hope for our people.

I hope he runs for Sheriff again or County Mayor. I can assure you he will get either one.

Charles Carpenter went from an unknown near nothing to earning 5% of the vote. That is nothing short of impressive.

I wasn't a fan of Mr Carpenter, but I grew to respect him. I think he really wants better for Memphis.

Hopefully he wont disappear as many of the other candidates did (Lawler, Chumney, Morris) did after a losing campaign.

I would hope Charles would develop relationship with community political groups, political parties,, become a gadfly commentor on AC's tenure, and have a monthly luncheon (aka like the old dutch treat lunches). At AC's agem, it is possible that he will be a one term mayor.

I also hope Charles picks a pet program/organization to support and campaigns/promotes for it. That is the secret to AC's success. AC is active in community service/social groups like the Boy Scouts.

What hurt Lawler, Chumney, and others is after the last election he ran in, he packed his bags and did nothing "politically" in the community or anything is service that kept them in the public eye as desiring to better the community!

Also (Mr Carpenter), loose the blood suckers like Mr French, Mr Jefferson, and others that only want to suck whet they can out of you

Did you Thaddeus hut Charles? I doubt it. I suspect his ties to WW Herenton hurt him. Charles Carpenter did not look "street" enough to carry tough south Memphis, and he was a North Memphis guy to beat the boot. If anything, Carpenter hurt you by trying to ride your populist coat-tail.

So Start the Charles Carpenter monthly Political "Dutch Treat" (Breakfast, Lunch, or Supper), bring in community speakers, and nail down the issues with a regular op ed in the Paper or community web site.
