I attended Pentecostal Temple until I became an adult. J.O. Patterson senior was my pastor and he had no problem with homosexual men in his pulpit or choir. Eric Farmer was part of C.O.G.I.C. for many years. I would love to hear what his want to be (Benny Hinn)ass, have to say about this.

I pray that this guy is telling the truth and is not just trying to hurt people because of a personal agenda of his. I am sure that a lot of things happen within any church or organization but one must remember when they expose a violator in a certain manner they are also exposing the victim in that same manner! Remember, the victim has gone through enough. If Patterson so call Son did not come forth when the man was living, why now?

This is old news. The church has always been inundated with homosexual men. For whatever reason, these men are usually gifted in the area of singing or playing the piano or organ.

I thank the Lord for men like D.L. When the church harbours and promotes the likes of Husband, Weems and Allen, the church loses its moral position and is a promoter of the spiritual degeneracy that pervades our society. I pray that this is a wake up call to the whole church and that this leads to a genuine call to repentance and renewed commitment to the work commanded us by our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the end of the day, a Christian cannot put his faith in a denomination, ANY denomination.
A Christian's only hope is to place his full faith and trust in Jesus Christ as He is revealed in the Holy Scriptures. This is why Christians need to be reading the Bible daily. Just as God commanded Joshua to meditate on the Scriptures "day and night," so too do Christians need to commit their full attention to God's Word.

Thad, the reason that our community has not thrived as a whole is because so many of us ignore or accept wrong doings in our community. Benjamin Jimmerson, you had better be careful in your criticism of the J.O. Patterson Jr. family because it is a known fact that some of their church members can become violent. Some years ago at a City Council meeting, the late activist Cornelia Crenshaw had been critical of J. O. Patterson, Jr., in an open council meeting. Angered by this criticism, a Patterson supporter sought out Ms. Crenshaw and slapped the soup out of the activist in front of City Hall. Thaddeus, I think that what we might need is to begin instructing women who've been used by men in authority. (Whether it's preachers or bosses) So many women have missed out on support for their children and themselves because they didn't know the right steps to take. Even many women in the world know that the first step you should make is to court to get child support. Had the right steps been taken back in the 60s this man would have never known a hunry day. However, I do think he's claiming a healing that he hasn't received. A healed person wouldn't do what he's doing. I pray that he is made whole one day.

If Benjamin Jimmerson truly wants to reconcile his differences with the Pattersons, maybe he should negotiate with a family member closer to his own age. That would be the brilliant son of J.O. Patterson, Jr., Bishop Charles Patterson, the heir apparent to the COGIC Patterson dynasty. Charles should have none of the hangups that the old men of the church have and might welcome his estranged uncle with open arms. It is worth a try.
i think jimerson answered that on the radio, when he said he had no kids, but that he was a mentor and father figure for two children who's mom's had planned abortions until he talked them out of it.
