If Shelby County Commissioners who have supported Joe Ford for county mayor needed a reason to change their votes Harold Ford Sr. have given them their out. Monday's threat by Ford Sr. to commissioner Deidre Malone to attempt to destroy her political career if she didn't support his brother should be enough for Joe not to receive any votes and send a message to Senior that he should stick his nose in the business of Florida where he resides and not into local concerns.
Joe ford who has a long history of not paying employees at N.J. Ford and Sons Funeral Home has had his non payment history posted in the CA for the last few days. While I now that the stories were printed so that the last term commissioner would lose support, maybe the stories were needed to show everyone including myself what type of trouble the county could be in under his care.
The CA spoke of the $23,000 owed to a contractor who has placed a lien on his Funeral Home property on Winchester, his debt to the Carter Malone Group,and a IRS lien that has been paid.I found out yesterday that he also owes his hair dresser who also dresses his bodies over $2,000 and Mr. Earl Butts who has a body removal services nearly $500 for picking up several bodies that Ford has already been paid on.
Ford Sr. who lives Boca Raton does not have the influence that he once enjoyed in Shelby County and his attempt to strong arm Malone should be considered and insult by other commissioners and a NO vote from every commissioners should be given to Joe Ford.
Another thing Ford Sr. did not consider is that even though Commissioner Sidney Chism has supported his brother his involvement will most likely mean that he will lose that support. Chism has a strong loyalty to former Memphis mayor Willie Herenton and his support of Steve Cohen who Herenton plans to run against next year for congress did not sit well with Chism and Chism just may see this as a chance to get even. And you can be assured that the other commissioners will be urged to not be bullied by a former congressman with no clout.

Joe Ford was about to easily slide into the county mayor's seat until The Commercial Appeal and Harold Ford, Sr., intervened.
The Commercial Appeal has painted Joe Ford as an incompetent buffoon so stupid that he cannot even manage his own personal and business finances. So who wants a buffoon to manage county business the same way?
Harold Ford Sr. has made things worse by making his brother look like a puppet with Senior pulling the strings from Florida and, in effect, being the real county mayor.
So now Joe Ford projects the image of a buffoon and a puppet. And he can now kiss the county mayor's position goodbye.

I am not a fan of the Fords. George Flinn and Deidre Malone's support of Gipson should send a red flag to Black people in this community. Knowing George Flinn personally, he has ALWAYS USED BLACKS for he and his family's personal gain. For example, he owns radio station HOT 107.1 FM which targets black children. This station promotes gutter
lifestyles,including: violence,sex,

Deidre Malone George Flinn and JW Gipson all support the Republican agenda. George Flinn, his son Shea, JW Gipson have always been known to switch to being a Democrat when it's convenient or time for an election.
Deidre owns a Public Relations firm that has made her a lot of money as a county commissioner and a closet Republican. This should be a conflict of interest, by her doing business with local politicians such as Joe Ford.

Harold Ford,Jr., did not lose the senate race a few years ago because of his last name. Harold Jr. was simply too intelligent, too articulate, and a little too black to please the East Tennessee hillbillies.
If the Democrats had been smart in that Senate race, they would have nominated a cabbage to run against Corker. The cabbage, being brainless, would have had a better chance of winning than the brilliant Harold Jr.
Now Joe Ford, Jr., is closer to a cabbage when it comes to brainpower, but this is not East Tennessee and the Shelby County Commissioners hopefully will use intelligence as one of the criteria in selecting a new county mayor. If not, we might end up with a county mayor dumber than U.S. Senator Bob Corker.
