At last the murderer of two children has been indicted. While I am often critical of Shelby County D.A. Bill Gibbons and even though I think that the $250,000 bond is to low I must give him kudos for indicting Melodia Dunn who on October 19, left her two sons at home while she and a aunt went shopping her residence located 1240 Effie burned.
Is it possible that 3 year old Ladereon Dunn and his 2 year old brother Catereon were use to being left along and decided that they were hungry because their uncaring mother most likely didn't leave anything for them to eat and tried to cook?
Dunn has been charged with 2 counts of aggravated child neglect or endangerment along with 2 counts of reckless homicide which if found guilty could result in over 50 years in prison. The aggravated child neglect charge is a non parolable offense.
But what would be real justice is that 201 Poplar caught on fire and she was the only one unable to get out alive.

Unless this mother has ice running through her veins, her conscience is already punishing her more than a prison cell ever could. She was negligent for sure. Its a fact that her negligence ended in the tragic, horrible loss of two darling, beautiful little boys. I typically take side with the victim, but there is nothing we can do to bring those babies back.
I wish it were possible for the prosecutors to offer permanent sterilization for her in lieu of jail time and allow her to participate in a work-release program so she could contribute financially to the rearing of her living child. If she decides she doesn't want to work, then haul her behind off to prison.

This is a shame but it is important to remember that the best thing a man can do is love his wife and take care of his children. I have never seen anyone on this blog ever state that they love their wife or kids only alot of nonsense, pimp talk. and anti black rhetoric. Perhaps if the father of the children was HELPING the mother with the kids and paying child support this tragedy could have been avoided. Of course ,this would mean the father could not go from woman to woman spawning children like a wild dog that makes puppies and leaves the bitches to handle the puppies or "cubs" to take care of their own ass without help.
I hope getting her hair did was worth it.
Thad not only is the mother to blame but also the neighbors. Those kids were probably in that house crying all day. And the neighbors probably knew it. If I had lived next door I would of called 911. Those children were defenseless and were at the mercy of adults. The young lady's family also knew of her neglect and did not report it. Have blacks become a brain dead society where any thing goes. Some of our young women are having babies to prove that they are not virgins. How sick and demented that is. You know the system and how it works. It's very doubtful she'll spend more than a few years in prison.
Opinions are one thing. But to wish death, and a horrible one, or even torture, for one's mistakes is a very dangerous thing to do. Nobody peeked into your past and tortured you for the mistaked you've made. She messed up. She will most likely never have a chance to have children again, must less raise them. Let the justice system do what it does and check your heart, if you consider yourself a Christian.

You act like she planned for those children to be killed in a house fire. No doubt there was neglect but I doubt she meant the fire ot happpen when she went shoppping. A house is usually safer than a moving car and when I see these toddlers jumping in the back or babies in their mother laps while their car is doing 70 on the highway, to me that is intentional neglect and inviting tragedy.

I think that this mother was ill prepared to care for children in the first place. I think that she should be punished. However, I do not agree with giving her life or putting her to death because it would not bring the children back and I am not sure if anyone would learn from it. I think she should be given some jail/rehabilitation time and spend the rest of her life doing mandatory community service.
People are judging her but probably haven't thought about how she was raised. Her mother probably neglected her and she just didn't have a great example of how a mother should take care of her children. A father is never mentioned in this situation, which lets us know that she probably was just a jump off for some low life nigger who ran as soon as she started to swell. I feel sorry for her.
She should pay for what she did by serving at least 10 years in prison.
This young lady is fairly attractive and should not be in this situation/condition. It is saddening and maddening all at the same time. Living in the hood is not an excuse. Most of us came from the hood and have done well. She has more opportunities available to her than her grandparents and parents alike.

I hope she is able to make bail and is not tried until after the elections. We need her thougful vote on election day.
