WHETHER YOU LOVE HIM OR HATE HIM WILLIE HERENTON MADE HISTORY

Willie Wilbert Herenton will officially retire as the mayor of Memphis at 2pm on today in the hall of mayors in city hall. Some loved him, some hated him but no matter what your thought is of him the fact that in 1991 as a Black man he was elected to the office of mayor his name will forever be a part of Memphis history.

While the mayor and I have disagreed on issues, I must respect the fact that as s Black man he was able to open a door that many sought to keep close. Has his tenure been perfect, No it has not. Has he not accomplish tasks that many thought that maybe he should. of course not. Are there those who did not like his style, his boldness, his bluntness, his in your face approach, of course there are.

But the sad fact is that many of those who voice their dislike for Herenton don't base that dislike on politics but many seem to have a deep seated hatred for the man. At the end of the day its all politics and all poli-trick-an both Black and White are no different. Whether you are a republican or democrat the game is still the same and the community and its citizens are the ones who get played.

The mayor and I have had our disagreements , I've called him names and he has called me names. But at the end of the day it was all just politics, a disagreement on issues and how those issues should be handled. There are persons that I feel the mayor should have fired, decisions that should not have been made, but to hate a man because he does not make the decisions I want is foolish and anyone who hates the man and not the politics is a fool.

The mayor as he leaves city hall is preparing to run for the u.S. Congress which is his choice. There will be those who support him and those who don't. there will be those who state that he is to old,but will forget that the halls of congress and senate is full of old men,so Herenton will just add to the number, and yes since I'm sure you want to know what my position will be.......I WILL BE SUPPORTING WILLIE HERENTON FOR CONGRESS. Now comment how you want because I don't give a damn what you think.

RANDY WADE IS PREPARING TO RUN FOR SHERIFF IF LUTTRELL RUNS FOR COUNTY MAYOR

It has been rumored for weeks that Shelby County Sheriff Mark Luttrell will at the last moment decide not to run for re-election for sheriff and run for county mayor instead. With Deidre Malone and Harold Byrd both democrats running for county mayor it would make sense that the republicans come up with a strong candidate. So what happens to the sheriff's office if in fact the rumors are true?

Randy Wade who served in the Shelby County Sheriff's Department for many years and now serves as the Memphis office director for Congressman Steve Cohen announced today that if Luttrell does run for county mayor he will seek the office of Sheriff.

Wade's run for sheriff would destroy Cohen's main connection to the Black community in a year that the congressman will be facing Willie Herenton who has announced his desire to take the seat in the 9th Congressional district. Much of the Black support that Cohen has received has been because of Wade and with him not by the congressman side in a race against Herenton,Cohen does not stand a remote chance of winning.

It is also rumored that other Black supporters of Cohen such as Minerva Johnican and Maxine Smith will not be vocal stand outs in next year's race. Sources state that Johnican has plans to return to politics herself by running for a clerk's position next year and will stay out of any other race other than her own.

Republican sources are stating that Cohen is courting the local party for their support in next years primary asking that republicans cross over and vote for him. This makes no sense when republicans will be seeking offices for their party plus when you look at the number of whites in the district it wouldn't make any difference anyway.

Wade states that he has spoken to Luttrell and that the sheriff stated to him that he enjoyed what he's doing and does not plan to run for county mayor. But Wade stands ready if Luttrell does change his mind in fact he has already started putting a team of advisers together. As for Cohen's race for congress and Wade's run for sheriff, Every tub will have stand on it's own bottom

FIND OUT WEDNESDAY WHAT GOD HAS TOLD WEBB NOW

Minister,School Board member, and former Charter Commission member Sharon Webb will be my guest for three hours on Wednesday on "The Thaddeus Matthews Show" as we discuss why she wants to be the next mayor of Memphis.

Webb who stated in the last mayoral race that God told her that she was going to be elected to the position must have had a new conversation or she had her years wrong. Tune in Wednesday from 4-7pm on AM 990 KWAM to see if God has prepared her to spend three hours with me discussing her mayoral bid and the issues.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS STATE THAT A MEMBER OF LOWREY'S TRANSITION TEAM IS CONSPIRING WITH OTHERS TO STEAL GOVERNMENT FUNDS

On Saturday I went to the North Memphis community I grew up in and met with some former board members of The New Chicago Community Development Corp who had prepared evidence to give me that shows hundreds of thousands of state.local, and federal funds are unaccounted for.The former board members state that they were voted off the board when they started asking questions about the funds.

The former board members are planning to take their documents which are nearly 3 inches thick to the FBI and ask for an investigation into the where abouts of the funds.

The former board members claim that Regina Walker Senior Vice president of United Way and a member of Myron Lowery's transition team has conspired with Eddie Hayes III to violate the by-laws of The New Chicago Community Development Corporation and to convert grant money for personal use.

In a Memphis Daily News articlehttp://www.memphisdailynews.com/editorial/Article.aspx?id=42338 (which Eddie Hayes picture was used from) Hayes speaks of a 2006 break in where a air conditioning unit on the top of the organization's office on Firestone was vandalized for copper and coil. In the article Hayes states that the insurance company did not pay for everything and that it took him a year to raise $4,500 to secure the units in a metal cage. But documents alone with a copy of a check show that Traveler's Insurance paid the organization $27,141.00.

The former board members state that they are not sure a actual break in ever took place because the units were not immediately replaced, plus the fact that Hayes admitted in a meeting which is on tape that he falsified police reports to get the insurance company to pay the claim all of which the members claim Regina Walker had knowledge of.

In the coming days I will provide documents that will show the police reports and check from Traveler's Insurance company. I will also post documents that will show where Hayes was questioned for giving himself a raise without board approval, How Hayes was writing checks and signing them to himself, evidence where the former board members give proof that show the other board members that Hayes was not providing appropriate financial records.

I will provide a copy of the minutes of a meeting in which it was documented that that two checks were written to petty cash and cashed for $3,000 when the by-laws state that the organization can only have $250 in petty cash. I even have a copy of a document that Hayes submitted to one of the former board members explaining the lack of financial documentation that he had given the board. I also have copies of erroneous police reports filed by Hayes.

The former board members cannot understand why Regina walker and other board members Issac Northern and Casel Jones are turning a blinded eye to the criminal acts of Eddie Hayes III and wonder if all of them are splitting up grant monies. It is for sure as i drove around the neighborhood i grew up in and where my mother still lives that the funds have not been used for development of the New Chicago area. I will be discussing this issue on my radio show and the Former board members will appear on The Thaddeus Matthews Show the week of August 3rd.

HAS LOWERY ALREADY CROWNED HIMSELF KING

On Saturday at a North Memphis community awareness meeting where parking was limited for everyone attending soon to be mayor pro tem Myron Lousy didn't want to seek a parking place like every one else so he decided to park his caddy in the street.

Lousy left his Caddy parked in the street for at least 20 minutes while he spoke an shook hands. While he was speaking several cars coming down Hollywood almost ran into the back of his car. The question is why did Lousy think that it was okay for him to park in the middle of the street while citizens sought to park correctly. Maybe the walk from across the street where others were parking was going to be to much exercise for him. If some of you thought Willie Herenton was the King wait until this 'Court Jester" wears the crown for 90 days. He may just may want to rename Graceland after himself.

WILL THE PRINCE SPLIT THE WHITE VOTE AGAIN?

In 1991 Prince Mongo made it possible for Willie Wilbert Herenton to make history by becoming the first Black elected mayor of memphis. Herenton who won over Dick hackett by 142 votes owes Mongo for splitting the White vote taking numbers away from the former mayor. Well it seems that history may just repeat itself now that the alien from Zamboia has announced that he will be a candidate for mayor in the upcoming election.... now this race is getting interesting

LOWERY'S VOTE VIOLATES MEMPHIS CITY CHARTER

When city councilman Myron Lousy voted with White council members to vacant the mayor's office he violated the city charter. The first sentence of section 2-4-12 of the charter which is entitled Conflict of interest of officers and employees state " No elected or appointed official of the city, nor any person appointed to any board or commission, nor employee of the city shall make, participate in making,or use his or her official position to influence a city government decision in which he or she knows or has reason to know he or she has any financial interest".

Myron knew when he casted the vote to vacate the mayor's office that he had a financial interest by way of an increase in salary and should have not casted a vote or participated in any discussions on the issue. The salary of a city councilman is $2500 per month versus the salary of mayor being $14,292 per month. Council members are paid $30,000 a year while the salary of the mayor is currently $171,500.

Going from $2500 to $14,292 creates a financial interest. In fact Myron Lousy will make more in 90 days as mayor pro tem then he makes all year as a council member. Even Ray Charles can see that Myron has an financial interest in the mayor's office being vacant and should have not voted on the vacancy.

There are members of the Memphis city council that are so hell bent with Willie Herenton being out of the mayor's office that they have thrown the rules out the window. First of all council members know that they do not have the power to vacate the office until Herenton is gone. No provision of the charter gives them any authority to vacate the office of an elected official.

Willie Herenton was elected for a 4 year term and only he or the voters have the right to vacate. If Herenton decided that he wanted to stay in office just to show the council and the Shelby county Election commission that they are powerless he could and there's nothing that they could do about it. It is my belief that the mayor is leaving but it is in the council's best interest to stand down or the mayor just squash any dreams that Myron Lousy has of ever becoming mayor of Memphis, because in the special election he will not even get 1,000 votes.

WHARTON MEETS WITH HALBERT

According to Memphis city council woman Wanda Halbert she met on Saturday with county mayor A.C. Wharton. The meeting took place very publicly at Perkins Restaurant on Poplar. Halbert states that Wharton did not ask her not to enter the upcoming special election for mayor of Memphis but presented his ideas and sought hers.

There are those in political circles that state that Wharton is not versed on issues dealing with Memphis city government and meeting with persons to gather their ideas and views so as to be able to create a platform for himself.

While Halbert would not go into everything that was discussed at the meeting she did state that she has not made up her mind if she plans to run for mayor or not.

MAYORAL CANDIDATE STATES THAT WHARTON TOLD HIM HE CAN HAVE ANYTHING HE WANTS IF HE GETS OUT OF THE RACE

Some in the Memphis media is reporting that Shelby County mayor and Memphis wanna be mayor A.C. Wharton has stated that he has not asked any other candidate to get out of the race for the position of mayor of memphis. In fact one media source quotes him as saying "There's a distinct difference between talking with them and telling them I think they should drop out," he said. "I mean, who am I to do that? I ain't done it and won't do it."

But according to Shelby County Commissioner and mayoral candidate James Harvey,Wharton on Wednesday asked him to get out of the race with the promise that he could have anything he wanted. I received a call on Wednesday afternoon from a source who told me that Harvey and Wharton was seen having lunch together at the "Little Tea Shop" on Madison in downtown Memphis. I immediately called Harvey's cell phone number and inquired if he in fact had had lunch with Wharton and whether the lunch was over Wharton asking him to get out of the race and he replied "Yes it was".

Wharton states that he will be the winner in the special election according to Harvey but wants to build a coalition in Memphis city government where he could utilize and bring a man like Harvey over from the county into his new administration. Harvey also states that Wharton told him that if he got out of the race that he would make sure something special was done in the district he represents. Harvey states that Wharton did not go into specifics as to what he would do, but that Wharton promised him that he could have whatever he wanted if he decided not to run. Harvey also states that Wharton discussed creating a program to help small businesses survive, but what that has to do with the mayor's race beats me.

Harvey states to me that went to the meeting called by Wharton out of courtesy but that he is his own man and makes his own decisions. Harvey who had planned to run any ways in 2011 feels that he has as much right to run now as Wharton or any other candidate and that if he does get out of the race it will be because he has looked at the race and feels that his chances of winning is better in 2011.

Harvey states that no matter whose in office in 2011 he will be a candidate and had Willie Herenton not decided to retire and decided to run again he would have ran against him. But the statement by Wharton that he would not ask any candidate to get out of the mayor's race seems to be a lie if what has been told to me by Harvey is true and I can't see him lieing on Wharton when he was well aware that I was going to report about our conversation.

But the question has to be to the voter if Wharton will lie about this issue what else will he tell the citizens of Memphis just to win a political race? Is the desire to be mayor of Memphis more important to the county mayor who still has a year left on his term than to be honest and just say that he wants to better his odds of winning by asking other candidates to get out of the race. Surely the citizens of Memphis would understand this "Politics As Usual" scheme where a poli-trick-an will do or say anything to win even if it means to lie.

IF A.C. IS SO CONCERNED ABOUT THE NUMBER OF PERSONS IN THE MAYOR'S RACE WHY DOESN'T HE GET OUT?

Shelby County mayor A.C. Wharton is concerned about the growing number of candidates for the job he wants which is mayor of Memphis stating Tuesday that he is "troubled" by the possibility of a crowded field diluting the eventual winner's mandate, and suggested he would like to meet with other candidates to make a decision "that's in the best interest of the city,Without regard to race, gender, ethnicity or anything, I am troubled by the large number of candidates," Wharton said. "Memphis is a major city; it would be preferable to elect the next mayor in a manner that shows he or she has a mandate to lead and that he or she was not chosen by way of a fluke."

Is this the statement of a concerned poli-trick-an,or a selfish one who sees his numbers dwindling on a daily basis. The local so called mainstreamed media had crowned Wharton mayor weeks ago and has done everything in it's power to promote him as the front runner.

But what makes Wharton or any one else think that Wharton is the best candidate for the job? Is it because he has a campaign war chest and a organization of political cronies pushing him, Or is it that certain segments of the community feel that Wharton will be a "Safe Negro" who will stay in his place?

While the growing numbers of candidates give the appearance of a circus they all have a legal right to run.And even as I would like to see a single Black candidate run for the position I can't say that I believe that Wharton should be thinking that he is "The Great Black Hope". Wharton should not be allowed to run as the sole representative of the black community.

Wharton knows that he does not have the Black community locked up when it comes to support,in fact in many segments of the black community he's seen as weak and controlled by White power brokers. Wharton also knows that if the right black candidate can present a better platform and shows that while he or she is not anti-White he or she is pro Black and has an agenda that will increase black economics that person will over shadow him and leave his campaign in the dusk.

While money matters this campaign will not be won by the person who has the most money but the person with the best presentation and the ability to get people to the polls. If Wharton is so concerned about what is best for Memphis and thinks that some one should get out of the race why has he not volunteered to step down and run in 2011 after his term as county mayor wins.

There has already been talk that Wharton and some in his camp have spoken with other candidates asking them not to run. In fact sources state that Wharton asked school board member Tomeka Hart not to run for mayor and that he would support her for a seat on the county commission.

While the media and those who control it attempt to stake claim for the mayor's office for Wharton, it will be left up to the voters to really make the choice. If Wharton wants someone to get out of the race it should be him,if not he should stay a clown in the circus that envies anything that Ringling Brothers has ever brought to town. The race does not belong to Wharton it belongs to the person who gets the most votes, who ever that person happens to be.
SIDENOTE; I have just received word that Wharton will be meeting with a candidate at 12 noon to ask this person not to run for the mayor's position. I know it's true cause the candidate told me himself.

THE BLACK FEMALE FACTOR IN THE BID FOR MEMPHIS MAYOR

In the upcoming special election for mayor Memphis there are many factors to be considered before election day. Numerous Black candidates, several White candidates, of which are all professional poli-trick-ans. Then there's Jerry"The King" Lawler who is not a professional poli-trick-an but has more name power then any one in the race having been on TV every week in Memphis for the last 37 years who has a base of wrestling fans who could turn into votes both Black and White.

Then there's the gender factor all the announced candidates are male except for one White female Carol Chumney, and one Black female Sharon Webb. Chumney will get both Black and White votes and with several White men in the race she will get more Black votes then White. Where Chumney would have picked up a larger percentage of the White vote just because she herself is White, some of that vote will now go to a White male versus her.

Sharon Webb's entry is considered a joke in the Black community, Webb who stated in the last mayor's race that God told her that she was going to win sits on the school board with questionable online degrees receiving 4 degrees in 4 years. Webb is considered just to be another Black with an ego problem who has no remote chance of winning.

But lets add another factor, A Black female with name power and a base of support. The entry of a Black female who has ran a city wide race and won, versed on the issues, knows city government, can can toe to toe with any male candidate in a debate. who has the appearance of toughness, and has taken on the powers that be could change the political horizon for this upcoming election.

If this were to happen this female Black could control the Black female vote, could pick up a large percentage of the White female vote especially those who think that a black is going to win any ways and also demand a large percentage of the Black male vote. If this Black female can stand firm on issues and answer questions directly that A.C. Wharton dances around she could steal some of his base support.

If a strong Black female enters the race and can knock holes into the platforms of Jim Strickland and Kemp Conrad and show that she is a better choice in the Black community that any of her Black male counter parts history could be made all over again as the first woman is elected mayor of memphis that just happens to be Black..........Hmmm now where do we find her?

CHARLES CARPENTER THE MAN WHO LEAD WILLIE HERENTON TO VICTORY 5 TIMES WILL BE MY GUEST WEDNESDAY

Charles Carpenter the man who lead Willie Herenton to victory 5 times in his bid as mayor of Memphis will be my guest for 3 hours Wednesday on 'The Thaddeus Matthews Show". Carpenter who stated to me on Friday that's he's not scared of me will be asked tough questions where I expect direct answers without political correctness and attorney dancing.
In viewing those who attended his announcement on last week its a sure thing that A.C. Wharton does not have the keys to the city mayor's office yet. It is sure that Carpenter will have the organization and funds to run a campaign. But his biggest problem will be name recognition, While his name is known in political circles he's an unknown to many in the community.
While carpenter states that he's running his own campaign there is no doubt his association with Willie Herenton is going to hurt him with some voters. Carpenter committed to 3 hours on the show,in fact his aid placed it in his date book. So for three hours I will ask the tough questions and give you the chance as well. Wednesday from 4-7 on AM990 KWAM, by the way the call in number is 260-5926

LAWLER'S ENTRY INTO MAYOR'S RACE WILL SPLIT THE WHITE VOTE AND PICK UP BLACK SUPPORT IS MEMPHIS READY FOR A NEW KING?

With Jerry"The King" Lawler bidding to become the next mayor of Memphis when Willie Herenton retires on July 30,2009, neither Kemp Conrad,Jim Strickland or Carol Chumney has a lock on the White vote. As of this writing over 10,000 viewers have listened to my interview with lawler on Wednesday and I have received calls and emails stating that Lawler makes a lot of sense in the things he said.

Lawler in the race also means that he has the ability to do something that Strickland and Conrad have no chances of doing and that is picking up Black support and Black votes. Many in the Black community feel that with the large number of Blacks getting in the race who are professional poli-trick-ans a professional wrestler with a common sense approach seems to be the better candidate,

It is no doubt that this race is a racial one for both Blacks and Whites, and many Whites would like to see the city lead again by a White. Many Whites will vote for Lawler because they know that out of the Whites in the race that he has the most name power and the ability to draw enough black votes to cause a win.

Whites also know that A.C. Wharton no longer can be looked upon as the lead candidate even though he may have money and a organization in place. They know with Carpenter who seems to have the Herenton organization behind him along with many Black ministers including Bishop Graves of the Methodist Church Wharton has lost numbers in the Black community. They also know that with K.T.Whalum who pastors a large Black congregation in the race the numbers for Wharton dwindle even farther. But they know even though some hate to admit it Lawler will bring out the White vote that normally stays at home while picking up a portion of Black vote that no other White in the race can obtain.

Lawler has no intentions of getting out the race and I'm sure that County Commissioner Mike Carpenter's snub last week when he didn't invite him to a candidate's forum stating that he didn't take Lawler as a serious candidate has the king now mad enough to pull the strap down and throw fire in the face of the commissioner. The race for mayor is any one's to win who can get the numbers out and professional poli-trick-ans could just get body slammed by Lawler

LAWSUIT TO KEEP MYRON LOWERY FROM BEING BOTH MAYOR PRO TEM AND A COUNCIL MEMBER TO BE FILED IF HERENTON LEAVES OFFICE PRIOR TO FEBRUARY 2010

A letter has been sent to Memphis mayor Willie Herenton by attorney Javier Bailey informing the mayor that he has been retained by the Memphis office of Rainbow PUSH. Bailey informs the mayor that after careful consideration and conversation with the leaders of the group it is believed that Myron Lowery's ability to remain on the Memphis city council and also serve as Mayor Pro Tem which places him in a position in both the executive and the legislative branches of government absolutely abridges separation of powers.

The letter goes on to request that the mayor remain in office until February 2010 to avoid the $1 million price tag of a special election and a charter crisis.

The mayor is informed that should he not remain in office until February 2010 that a lawsuit will be filed in Chancery Court where Rainbow PUSH will seek a declaratory judgement where the city will be enjoined from violating the separation of powers provision of the city charter. The lawsuit will be filed the moment mayor Herenton vacates his office if its prior to February of 2010.

JERRY "THE KING" LAWLER SEEKS A NEW KINGDOM

Professional wrestler and successful businessman Jerry "The King" Lawler appeared on Wednesday on the "Thaddeus Matthews Show" where he states that Memphis needs him as mayor. Lawler says that Memphis needs a mayor that is not a politician and one who seeks to be a unifier.

I had thought that the idea of Lawler running for mayor was a joke or a publicity and was very surprised as he candidly answered my questions about his bid for the job that would reduced his income by thousands. Lawler at age 59 who has appeared weekly on Memphis TV for 37 years says that he is tired of the travel and would hang up his tights if elected. When I questioned him as to if his announcement for mayor was a publicity stunt he replied "I've been on Memphis TV for 37 years,I'm seen weekly on the number one program on cable (Monday Night Raw) so no I don't need the publicity".

Lawler says that his desire to be mayor comes from his love for the city and from a desire to bring racial harmony to the city. He does on to state that politician are greedy an out for themselves. He called Myron Lowery greedy and one who wants power. Lawler says that if he is elected he will not require a city owned car but will continue to drive his "Caddy. He would want the money used to provide a mayor with a car used to provide a mobile mayor's office,a mobile home that serves as a office that each week is in a different part of the city where the people could bring and express their needs to him with staff present to implement those needs.

When I stated to Lawler that Blacks make up the majority of the population of the city and what would he do for Blacks he replied " Nothing, I'm not going to do any more for Blacks then I am going to do for Whites" He went on to state that he would hold meetings all over the city so that citizens Black and White could give him their agendas for their communities.

I asked Lawler about whether or not he would retain Lowery appointee Jack Sammons as CAO of the city if he's elected and he replied that Sammons would have to go. I also asked Lawler "Looking at the crime rate and the morale of police officers would you fire Larry Goodwin as director of police?" His answer was that Goodwin would be fired and that he would look within the department for a replacement. I reminded him of A.C.Wharton answer to that same question where Wharton stated that he would do a nationwide search for a director and Lawler stated that to do that is to say that we don't have a qualified person already on the force.

Jerry Lawler also states that he would seek to discover what could be done for the mayor to have control of Memphis City Schools, doing away with a school board and making who ever is in charge of the day to day operations of the school responsible to him. He also stated that the money used for busing could be better used in other areas of government. Where he says that he may not know all that the professional poli-trick-an knows he will allow "Common sense" prevail surrounding himself with knowledgeable staff persons from all segments of the community to help him lead the city.

The wrestler who wants to be mayor says he will ask no one for campaign funds to finance his campaign and will not have a campaign manager because that's what politicians do. He says that he plans to finance his own campaign and listen to the people as to what they want done from a mayor.

Some may say that Lawler is a joke, but the joke is 8-9 different Blacks running for the office. Where I support the idea of a Black holding the office I will not support the idea of so many Blacks in the race and I must admit that the "Common Sense ideas of lawler, Make sense.

Rumor has it that Jim Strickland may not run for mayor with Lawler in the race, in other words with one strong White candidate in the race why ad a lesser known White candidate who does not have the racial crossover appeal. This is something that Black candidates should pattern. I received calls from Blacks listening to the show that stated that they would vote for Lawler which means that the toughest listening audience in Memphis heard some things from Lawler that just made good sense.

There is no doubt that Lawler could win, with numerous Blacks in the race he will have the greater name recognition of any candidate and his ideas will appeal to Blacks as well as Whites. Lawler would definitely pull some of the Black vote from all candidates including A.C. Wharton and would demand a large percentage of the White vote. Unlike any other White in the race Lawler does not have to court the Black vote because he's already known and received in the Black community and has been for 37 years.

In a race that is projected to have a small turnout their will be those who vote that is tired of "Politics as Usual" an willing to give Lawler a chance for the remaining two years of Herenton's term to see what he can do. There will also be Blacks that will vote that will be angry with the numerous Blacks that could not come together to find one consensus candidate and who do not want to give Wharton their vote that also will vote for Lawler. Yes in a few months King Willie as some in the community call Willie Herenton could be replaced with a king that has worn a crown for 37 years by the name of Jerry Lawler who plans to make Myron Lowery and others like him in city government court jesters.

THE THADDEUS MATTHEWS SHOW THAT IS AIRING AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE IS MY INTERVIEW WITH JERRY LAWLER AND WILL REMAIN THERE THROUGH THE WEEKEND OF JULY13,2009

COHEN JUST MAY PAY FOR THE SINS OF WHITE COUNCIL MEMBERS AND THEIR FIELD HAND MYRON LOWERY

White city council members and Myron Lowery in their push to attempt to force Mayor Willie Herenton out of office on July 30,2009 if the mayor was to change his mind may have just costed Steve Cohen his congressional seat.

While it is widely believed that the numbers are not in place for a Cohen victory the fact that Cohen supporter Lowery joined forces with White poli-trick-ans to attempt to force a Black man, even Herenton out of office is not going to sit well with many Blacks and will cause some blacks who were not going to support Herenton to now give him their votes.

With Black candidates whose egos are as wide as Lowery's butt all jumping in the race to become mayor guaranteeing the election of a White to the 7th floor office many in the Black community including myself will work to make sure that Memphis does not have both a White mayor and a White congressman.

Lowery has lost all respect from most Blacks and will lose in the special election and then his council seat will be targeted in 2011. Even though there is a percentage of Blacks who had made up their minds not to support Herenton for congress the act by the White council members with the support of Lowery to oust a Black man from office does not set well with many Blacks.

In fact the act as known by the council will not stand in court because the council does not have the authority to vacate the mayor's office. The mayor was ELECTED by the people and not appointed by the council therefore the mayor is the mayor until he retires or until 2011 which ever he chooses. The attorney for the council Alan Wade informed them that if this matter goes to court, which it just may it will not stand.

The White members of the council of which Jim Strickland and Kemp Conrad have both staked their claims for the mayor's office and came to the meeting with an agenda to oust Herenton by any means. Lowery who also wants to be mayor if just for a day joined in and conspired with them to oust Herenton if the method used was illegal as well as just plain wrong.

Myron Lowery will be dealt with in the Black community and Steve Cohen will be the sacrificial lamb for the sins of the White councilmen. Plans are already being made by some who have not been on the Herenton band wagon to use a full court press to oust Cohen from congress in retribution for the acts of this council and their "field hand" Myron Lowery.

JERRY"THE KING' LAWLER WILL APPEAR ON MY SHOW ON WEDNESDAY TO DISCUSS HIS BID FOR MAYOR OF MEMPHIS

Wrestling superstar Jerry Lawler has suggested that he might want to throw his name in the hat to become the next mayor of Memphis and on Wednesday on 'The Thaddeus Matthews Show'. Tune in as I ask the king the tough questions including asking him if he knows he would have to give up wrestling since the city charter states that the mayor of Memphis must work the job of being mayor full time.

YES OTIS I CALLED MYRON A "GOOD NIGGER" BUT WHAT ABOUT WHARTON'S WEAK ANSWERS?

In an editorial in the Commercial Appeal the writer most likely Otis Sanford takes offense with me selling advertising space to candidates on my site. That's strange coming from

a newspaper that's laying out employees because it can't sell enough advertising to maintain staff. the editorial states "Neither was it comforting when Shelby County Mayor A C Wharton, the early favorite in a special mayoral election, sat through a shower of n-bombs without objecting during an appearance on a low-brow radio talk show whose host punctuates his speech with racist slurs and endorses political candidates who advertise on his blog."

The CA sells political advertising and so do I,In fact I will sell ad space to anyone with the money to purchase it friend or foe. No one's money is off limits I'm in the advertising business. The so called main streamed newspaper that attempts to discredit me often has had to follow my lead on stories that either they didn't have the sources or the courage to write. Either way I don't give a damn about their opinion of me and I welcome them to continue to promote me as often as they wish.

It's apparent that the CA listens to my show on a daily basis so that they can put there fingers on the pulse of the black community to hear what the Black non politicals have to say. I don't apologize for my show being on the edge or controversial, neither do I apologize for placing Wharton on the hot seat. While the CA purposely left out much of the content of the show they are right when they say that I called Myron Lowery a "Good Nigger" Isn't that what White power brokers called a Negro that they are using for there bidding?

Lowery knows that he has no chance of winning the mayor's job in the special election but he wants his name to be presented in a history book stating that he served as mayor of Memphis. Lowery has been given a 90 day plan by his "masters" and it's his mission to please them.

Lowery does not have support in the Black community and the CA knows it but since they are a part of Memphis Tomorrow's plan along with others to set the stage for the next 90 days and then place Wharton in the mayor's seat. My asking the county mayor direct tough questions that he could or would not answer troubles the CA because Wharton whose been crowned the "great Black Hope' showed flaws to the very group that he needs votes from to get elected.

Many in the Black community feel that Wharton has already sold his soul to the White power brokers and has a fear of letting them know they he supports the Black community which is the majority of citizens in the city of Memphis.

Many Blacks I have spoken with since Wharton's appearance state that because he couldn't answer the questions I asked or danced around them he will not be getting their vote. I'm sure that the CA will not be turning down any advertising money from any candidate whether they endorse them or not,and neither will I because one thing that both of us have in common is making a candidate pay for exposure.

A.C. who stated to me after his appearance on last week that he enjoyed being on my show and that it was a great interview promised to comeback. Hopefully next time he'll leave his dancing shoes at home and if between now and then he gets handlers and does not fulfill his promise because they don't want him back on the show I will have to encourage my audience not to vote for him. And by the way CA,had Wharton objected to me saying that any Black man that has a fear of being seen as black and standing up for Black issues and gives the appearance of being the water boy for Whites in change is nothing more than a "Good Nigger", Guess what that would have made him to my audience which by the way votes, yeah that's right, A GOOD NIGGER.

EDMUND FORD SR. TO RUN FOR MAYOR OF MEMPHIS

Former Memphis City Councilman Edmund Ford Sr. who on May 22,2008 was acquitted by a federal court jury on 6 counts of criminal charges accusing him of taking bribes to help city approval for a real estate deal has decided that he has been off the battlefield for making positive changes long enough and is planning to run for mayor in the upcoming special election for mayor of Memphis.

Ford states that his main reason for making the decision to run for mayor is the way Myron Lowery is making a mockery of the process by attempting to remain on the city council and be the mayor at the same time. Ford also believes that Lowery has cut a deal with Jack Sammons and others. to allow some on the council and those who give them their marching orders 90 days to get their agenda approved and sign off on by him.

Ford states that a strong leader who has no fear of power brokers be they black or White needs to be in the mayor's office and plans to allow the community to set the agenda for the needs of the office,

Ford states that if elected he would immediately ask Sammons to clean out his desk and would not allow him to remain CAO of the city. Ford further states that with the crime rate being as high as it is and the police department not having a real plan designed by it's leadership to deter it he would fire Police Director Larry Goodwin and seek someone within the department with proven leadership skills who has a plan to reduce crime as the new director.

Edmund Hull Ford Sr. says that he is not running on his family's name but on a record of service to the citizens that he represented on the council. He states that the city and those who he has served knows beyond a shadow of doubt that he will stand up for what is right and dare anyone to try and set him down.

SIDNEY CHISM SAYS WILLIE HERENTON MAY REVOKE HIS RETIREMENT AND REMAIN IN OFFICE

Sidney Chism long time friend and political confidante of Memphis mayor W.W.Herenton says that due to the large number of Blacks entering the race to replace the mayor that is creating havoc in the Black community the mayor may just revoke his retirement and remain in office until a consensus Black candidate can be found.

Chism who met with the mayor on Wednesday states that numerous citizens have requested that Herenton not leave office at this time primarily because basically no one in the Black community wants to see Myron Lousy at the helm of the city and feels that he has already cut a deal with White power broker who is believed to have a 90 day plan to make drastic changes.

The mayor is stated to be troubled by the fact that Black leadership can not come together and chose one candidate to run in a race that may have a strong White candidate running. Chism knows like most that several Blacks in the race with only one strong White candidate can return the mayor's office to White rule.

Chism and many others have been in contact with the mayor begging him to change his mind and allow for a process where the Black community can get behind one strong qualified candidate. There is no rule that states that the mayor can not change his mind and next week some very new occurances may just take place.

If the mayor does change his mind the giant splash you will hear will be Myron Lousy jumping off the Tennessee-Arkansas bridge.

HOW MUCH IS THAT NEGRO IN THE WINDOW.?

Even before Myron Lowery can be crane lifted upstairs in city hall to the mayor's office he's already cutting back room deals to serve his personal agenda. Myron has cut a deal with former councilman Jack Sammons to become the CAO of the city instead of running against him for the mayor's job.

Those who think that Willie Herenton was arrogant have not seen anything yet. Lowery is now so ego driven that he probably sell his wife on a street corner to become mayor of Memphis. But what he does not realize is that the joke is on him.

Lowery who is known in the Black community as a "Sell-out Negro" is just another tool of White power brokers in Memphis determined to take control of the mayor's office. They are positioning themselves to take over and leave "Their Boy" out in the cold. White power brokers know that Lowery cannot win the mayor's position in a race so the deal was cut to put Sammons in as the CAO of the city which places him second in command. All divisions report to the CAO which gives Sammons control and only allows Lowery to serve for 90 days as a figure head.

The plan is for Jim Strickland to run for the mayor's office with the support of Sammons and his wife's uncle Fred Smith and other White power brokers. This group knows that several Blacks will run for the office in a race that perhaps will draw only 25,000 totally to the polls. This group will allow Black voters to fight over votes while running Strickland as "The Great White Hope" getting Whites voters to the polls.

The group believes that with Strickland in the race Carol Chumney becomes a non enity with whites and serves as another Black candidate that further splits the Black vote. Strickland gets elected,Sammons who has much more experience than Strickland remains CAO, And Lowery returns to the council.

Myron "The sell-out Negro" doesn't even realize he is being played he just wants to be mayor even if only for 90 days. A White listener of my show who calls regularly called in yesterday an stated that in the White community Myron Lowery is known as Myron Lousy. I had to agree with the caller that Myron is Lousy and has very little respect in the Black community and has no remote chance of winning.

Myron Lousy knows that he has no chance of winning but just wants to be added to the history books as a mayor of Memphis. Myron Lousy who is violating the charter by remaining a councilman while serving as mayor, wanting a transition team for a reign of 90 days, has been bought and paid for by Whites who in his 90 day reign of terror will try to push through items that have been stalled. Like a good slave Myron Lousy is serving his master's bidding hoping to get the crumbs that fall from the table.

BUT THEN WILLIE HERENTON COULD SPOIL ALL THE PLANS AND REVOKE HIS RETIREMENT,HMMMMMM
